The gunners marveled at the strange craft, though the older ones had to resist the urge to just open fire. A hatch opened up across from the ship, and a man stepped out. Human, but fierce. Dark hair, bright blue eyes. Not in a dress uniform though, as he usually dressed, but in jungle camo, the insignia of his rank only shown on the helmet he wore. There was a sword at his side, and a pistol on his belt.
"I am War Minister Stidham. I would take you into the National Redoubt, but we have not yet fought alongside in battle yet. Forgive me if I do not trust those who come from the stars so readily. We have had so many of them visit recently. We have much of importance to speak about. Shall we enter the tower? It's command bunker shall serve our purposes for now...although it wasn't originally built to accommodate someone your size..."

The Singleton started to retract some of it's tail, getting the sections to double-up on eachother. reducing the overall length by about half.
"This command bunker will be adequate, I'm sure.", it said.

Stidham nodded, motioning for the mechanical creature to follow. Concrete stairs led down concrete halls, steel bars and reinforced pillars marking the only changes. The stairwells that appeared to go to different floors instead led to no where, and the real entrances were hidden behind secret panels. Spiralling ever downward until Stidham stopped, knocking on a section of steel wall three times.
It slid open, and there was a soldier operating a remote that was wired into the wall. An elevator. It led down, deep. Probably underground.
When it finally opened, there was the 'command bunker'. It held primitive computer technologies, several diagrams made of glass, where trajectories and airways were being plotted, and two heavy machine gun nests (It is not known if this is a sign of pessimism or simply that they have guns everywhere.)
Stidham walked over to a large table, which held a topographic model of Aatuylva. He placed his arms on two of the corners, looking out at it and the markers representing his units, and the grey ones marking rebel locations. The models of flak towers and castles stood high above all but the mountains, the fortress cities done in stunning detail.
"There is nothing worse, in my opinion, than knowing a war is happening and not being able to determine it's outcome. So, tell me visitor, 'singleton', how can you help me fight this war, hmm?"

I understand you require reinforcing, but those soldiers are the only ones currently in Aatuylva with combat knowledge of the Federation. I require them to stay behind and train my soldiers against the tactics of the enemy. I will reinforce you with as many soldiers as I can spare, and Deep Patrol agents, but the mechanized division under Tiam is required for home defense. I hope you understand. --------War Minister Stidham Colonel Nakhi WelhanYep, I saw that coming. Very well. I just knew that I would have to make you aware of my war plans right now.
I should mention though that the Federation doesn't have tactics in the normal sense of the word. Their only goal, metaphorically speaking, is to take the biggest hammer they can find and smashing everything that belongs to the Empire or the allies of the Empire.
But it's your decision and I'm not going to question it. May we destroy these invaders together in the future.
"This is Singleton 670.K301 of the Scout Cluster Ship #00B45C of the Coronan Fleet. We are Coronan Malych", The singleton stopped. 'Malych' was such an antiquated term for them, and better described Miokalia's inorganics. "We intend to defend this planet against the threat of the Federation.
The Federation has engaged us near the Martian Satellite 'Phobos'. And now they are en route to the Persephone system to try to engage us again."Grr... sometimes I hate the fact that our emergency systems send this stuff to my datapad. I thought it was changed over to Rio. Malych... hmm... that's the robot people down south I think. Odd. I never thought they were from another planet. Damn, now I have to work with them. Where is IX when I need him? I hate robots. I cannot allow that. I want your people to back off. Our Imperator is on his way here with a fleet of at least 3,000 warships and they can drop out of hyperspace at any time. I don't want your people to be mistaken as an ally of the Federation when they do arrive.
At least wait until the ships arrive before assisting in the fighting. The situation on the ground is contained, so far, to my colony.
However, since you are looking for information more than likely. I can fill you in on what I believe is an accurate damage assessment.
The Galactic Federation invaded the colony early in the morning opening with a conventional bombing followed by the use of three nuclear weapons. I estimate casualties at around 5.4 million people with no more than 50,000 Aneans left on the planet, most being military. That is all I know as of right now.

The Singleton paced a bit, the business of trying NOT to touch or dislodge anything was taking quite a bit of effort, so he stopped pacing and decided to just to stay put.
"Then we clearly agree on at least this: I also prefer to know the outcome of things.
We have 20 ships on standby at this planet. Each one has a 'crew' which is fully capable of independent operation. I guess I should clarify, "singleton" is a title. Like your "captain". First off, we can defend you from air-attack. We have to protect Aatumrrcho, as she is in danger. We can move your personnel and materiel into strategic positions, transportation without risk of attack en route. Just tell them where you want it to go and they will take you there. Within reason, of course. The Federation can't attack us when we are transporting through Holostrand Space. However, neither can we attack them from this state.
You might know of this phenomena as "Sifus' Gift".
We can provide some cover for your personnel and materiel. Cosmodrones are the fighter unit we will likely be using. They are small craft, cellular in construction. We can replicate and deploy them very quickly.
I won't reveal how quickly we can deploy them, but during the very brief battle with these cyborgs who call themselves "Pudrians" at Persephone, the Nachtan Singleton had it's ships replicate and deploy 600 per hour before they got serious and realized that the Pudrians were not actually just another Hylopathic civilization playing a game. Apparently they weren't hylopathic at all and were just some fundamentalist cybernetic scum trying to erase the universe. We upped the ante and they took off. I assume it was because of a more pressing matter, they seemed kind of upset and confused.
As for the ones on the ground, Persephone crushed them, of course. You don't pick fights with energy beings when all you're armed with is zeal and a penchant for assimilating organic stuff into a cyber stupor. I wish we knew where they went. I know there was some thing here that involved them, but it was such a brief conversation that we didn't have a chance to ask much through the telephase before things went back to normal. If this is the case, that you repelled the same Pudrians I'm thinking of, then you are amazing people and I love you.
In a completely... appreciative sense. That may have come out odd.
I digress: We're probably not as large as the federation. Not even close if you use the number of planets as a measure of 'size'. I wish we could just cruise on through here, wipe them away and save the dear Aatmrrcho and her brother who we have yet to directly speak to. But I'm afraid we simply don't have the kind of capacity to do that. We have to protect our own worlds against the Federation as well. Which is why we must form an alliance against this common enemy."

"The words you speak are strange creature. Sifus gives no gifts I know save death and destruction. And you speak of one of the old gods with such familiarity? What are you that you would know of these? ...Pudrians? Yes. We fought them. A combined effort with the Tinisians, Miokalians, Aneans, and the Hive Mind of Suikodan. Brutal creatures...their leader, even more so...I wonder if he lives.." Stidham began to pace, his hands behind his back. "We can defend our airspace well enough from their fighters, but we haven't gotten enough Bloodhound missiles to shoot down any missiles or bombs they have...as for logistics, my gunships, IFVs, and tankettes require transport during the assault to take the island. The transport choppers are protected well enough by our new tailsitters, it's just that their fighters, from the reports I'm getting, are dreadfully fast. Our strategic and tactical assets, our trains..alas, cannot be moved, however, our smaller artilleries will need transport...Deep Patrol shall also want to be moved as soon as possible..." "You wouldn't happen to have aerial photos would you? My troops are accustomed to fighting in the jungle and the mountains, I need to prepare..." -------------------------- With all due respect colonel, we are working with them in order to transport the reinforcements you are calling for, so if you would, I would dearly appreciate if you do not harass them. --------Lady Secretary Wira Volvolen

Scout Cluster Ship #0047EB Knowledge rolled his 6 eyes. "Contained?", the creature clicked, "5.4 million dead? This was not just an invasion, it was an extermination. I'm sure of it."
He relunctantly ordered most of the ships to remain over the Aatuylvan woods, and over Miokalia, and to stay away from the inbound ASE ships.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The singleton replied, "Perhaps I must have misinterpreted something or used the wrong analogy for "Sifus' Gift". Oops. Regardless, Aatumrrcho is not limited to the realm of antiquity. To be honest, we don't really completely know what she is. But we do know that she exists and that she engages in conversation with us via a telephase of her creation. We think she is another hylopathic entity, which is why she is important to us. She is among the deep woods. I was not aware that she was considered a deity. Nevermind.
Pudrians. Sick bastards indeed. I was not aware they had a leader. The neither us nor the Nachtan cared to look for one.
Oh yes. Right. Photos. I'm giving you access to our library of aerial photos. We can also update them. Hold on.
It's going to take a bit, you're bunker here is giving me about 40% packet loss on the data.
Ok, I just need some kind of device to unload this onto."

A SOTO CDP device shot off from a ship in the bay of Inleef. Hit the 10 megaton warhead and deflected it away from the city into the ocean. Cal would soon bring their force to bare.
The firing of the warhead at Cal stirred SOTO into action.
"I want SPAM's* shot at every one of those Fed ships.", Qualt ordered.
From several sites near Catahkhus, about 36 missiles fired at the ship in orbit over the bay. And there was plenty more.
The movement got the attention of the Coronan fleet over northern Miokalia. It took a little a while to figure out what had happened, but a nuclear weapon being fired near Miokalia meant that this was becoming a bit personal. They moved closer to the bay and began to deploy the Cosmodrones against the Federation ship.
hundreds of CDP system batteries were now active across Cal and Miokalia.
*SPAM - it's like a SLAM missile except more versatile and not limited to low-altitude
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pratzam Cluster Ship #01E504
the Pratzam Singleton threw some little stress-ball thing and ordered: "This ablative strategy isn't enough. They expect missiles and gunfire. Damn it, get Miokalia to pause some so I can actually shoot this thing with something they're less familiar with."
The order worked its way to Qualt, who replied, "NO."
The Federation ship dropped another couple missiles headed for Miokalia now. A dirty and unelegant combination of CDP devices and SPAM missiles dealt with those. Turning it into a mass of slightly radioactive, burning foam, plunging towards the ground. Ultimately setting a field on fire. Another one fell, crashing through a building. It was certainly better than them exploding.
Something slammed into the other side of the Federation ship. Then again. Pratzam hoped it was the Calie forces attacking the other side of the ship. He found an opening and fired a neutron torpedo at the vessel.
As expected, it tore into it. Unloading it's yield of fast-neutrons. It would take more than just that to bring this down though, this was much larger than the other ships. The Cosmodrones found the opening carved by the torpedo and flew in. It was time for them to bring the hell indoors to them. The Federation ship rocked again.
Pratzam's ship began to fall back, the constant ablation from the Federation ship's weapons were beginning to degrade the primary field. They would have to let it recharge.
Cluster Ship #01B162 broke into pieces next to him. Their field gave out from the constant fire already. Two more Cluster Ships came up from behind and took their place.
Both fired two more neutron torpedos, this time aiming for the same place.
"How many fucking engines are on this thing?", Pratzam thought out-loud.
The Federation ship's bombing bays were reduced to orbital flotsam. Somebody's fighters and missles were clearly responsible for that. It certainly was a lot of them. About 108 in total.
The massive ship rocked a bit again, some more things hitting it from unknown locations. A huge fireball erupted from one side of the ship. But it was still shooting. At least a hundred jet aircraft below could be seen, launching tactical assaults against the bottom of the Federation ship with god-knows-what.

Figures that she'd send something like that through. Actually, IX is the Imperator now. He basically did away with the democracy that the Emperor was trying to create. So now we just have another emperor with a different title.
And... hello Tiam... The train was going at a pretty good click. The tanks and trucks could keep up, which was good, but they couldn't keep fending off the fighters forever. The strafing runs were already cutting into supplies. Then Resha saw what he hoped would never happen. "All men to your stations, medics ready for wounded, get some tankettes on the ground to provide covering fire for our boys out there MOVEMOVEMOVE!!!" Lieutenant Masako TijerinaAs the train stopped, the GK-IIs began to form a perimeter of sorts. I am on the heavy gun on top of the GK-II. I decided to load in pyrophoric rounds just because I can. As Federation soldiers approached, I fired at them. For once, I like the Heavy Projectile Cannon. On the other side of the turret, an AGF soldier fired the heavy machine gun. I think that I was doing more damage though. I am saving my nuclear round for when I really need it. Captain Edmundo Bonier, Anean WorldportIt's about time that we were in combat. The Remnoran Imperial Guard doesn't do well sitting around. I was expecting the Imperator to call us out to battle, but he didn't. Instead he sent us here. Thankfully someone attacked. We got into the main terminal area of the airport. My team has only 10 soldiers, but that's enough. There are another 40 of us elsewhere in the Worldport. It's hard to kill us. Surprisingly, the few Federation soldiers still haven't seen us. I guess we have the element of surprise for now. One of the soldiers took a shot and dropped one of the soldiers. That is when the rest started to fire back. More soldiers came around. I think we must have be facing at least 50 of them now. That's no problem though. I pulled out an AGF grenade and threw it. When it exploded, thousands of metal balls were shot out at extremely high speed. It's basically a shotgun, but it is very effective against infantry. Soon after, the shooting stopped and we kept moving. We are mostly looking for survivors, but clearing the building is a plus. Federation Task Force Commander Omer Arris
"Sir, there is an Anean supply train. They seem to have stopped because of our melting of the tracks." My aide said. "Should we destroy them?"
"Yes." I said. "Send 15,000 soldiers over. If that fails, then bomb them. Use a nuclear weapon if you have to. Don't let them escape. Actually, I will come along too."
15 Minutes Later
My shuttle touched down a mile or so from the Aneans. Right now, there are 300 main battle tanks among the 3,000 soldiers here now. The rest are on the way.
I climbed into a tank and gave the order to move. The loud rumbling of the tanks sounds like victory. Time to wipe out whatever is left of Anean resistance on the island.A SOTO CDP device shot off from a ship in the bay of Inleef. Hmm... it was deflected and now they are launching back. Pathetic.
"Target the launch sites and-"
The weapons hit the ship. Thank god for the thick armor. Still, the red alert went off and we must have taken some serious casualties.
"Target the sites and load 100 nuclear missiles for launch. I want all of them loaded with 200 kiloton warheads. And for fuck's sake, make sure these can't be taken down. Or if they do, make sure they can still detonate. I want maximum damage done to these barbarians!"
The tactical officer said, "Sir! We lost two escorts as well!"
"DAMN IT. MAKE THEM PAY FOR THIS. Show them that assisting the Aneans is the worst mistake they can make! I want at least two divisions of soldiers dropped on them to get a foothold! If they want a war, then we will give them a war like we give the Aneans!"
From out the window of the bridge, the missiles launched from the now scarred hull of the ship. After those missiles hit, the soldiers will move in on the detonation sites.

I hope...
"Salvage those weapons, and clear the damned tracks!!"
His men scurried, bringing rails and equipment off of the train while the survivors of the first set up barricades, to cover the engineers. The anti-aircraft guns were being turned against the enemy tanks, although they still kept a watchful eye to the skies. Rocket infantry loaded their fliegerfausts for volleys against enemy infantry and tanks. The soldiers in the train got to their firing ports, needlers and flamers ready. The heavy flechers were set up on the roof, to prevent enemy soldiers from climbing up.
So it is joined..

5 more Cluster Ships dropped-in and immediately unloaded thousands of Cosmodrones on the Federation ship. Two unknown nuclear detonations happened below, near Dobplaron in Miokalia, where most of the assault was originating.
Pratzam ordered his ships to fire 5 more neutron torpedos into the Federation ship.
Qualt shouted, ARHHHHH! MOTHERLAAAAND!
inappropriately while standing on a desk in the war-room.
And ordered 20 more squadrons up into the air for patrol and defense around the country.
Missiles in Danaton, Miokalia were armed and on standby.
A single shuttle craft, made it through the thick of the fighter jets. Landed somewhere south of Holyoke.
A pair of full-size EM24H units operated by a few of MRZF's finest turned them into pulp upon their exit.

Post by The Union of Tinis on Sept 1, 2010 2:33:15 GMT -5
The motion graphic of the seal of Tinis swooped around. A voice came on to say, "And now, the First Speaker of Tinis."
The seal faded and was replaced by a middle aged fox in the odd suites Tinisian politicians who are trying to establish seriousness wear.
"Good evening my fellow Tinisians," he began. "A few short hours ago, an attack was made upon the Anean colony of New Gracaria. We became aware of various aspects of the attack over the next thirty minutes. I regret to inform that it is likely that the attackers have slaughtered millions of innocent people."
The fox paused to let that sink in.
"We've been able to garner from radio traffic that has gotten through the jamming and a message from the Aneans, that it is likely the warned of attack by the Galactic Federation of Andromeda, that the Aneans warned of. The conflicts between Anea and Galactic Federation have been mostly rumor to most on our planet. But this conflict has come to our doorstep. We are quite certain now of a genocide of ultimately evil proportions.
"I must admit that I had hoped to not see a full scale war in my time as First Speaker, or in my lifetime. But I fear that we are at a crossroads. We could stay back, huddle, and fearful of alien invaders who act to kill without care if the target is soldier or child. Or we could do what is right, and not just condemn the killing of innocents, but to act, to fight, to strive for an end to this conflict.
"My fellow Tinisians, this is not a threshold situation, such as that fought to our north, where a lucky battle and a few heros can win the day and the rest of us will sleep easy. Nay, this is to be war.
"We are already at high alert. The enemy has already used nuclear weapons. Others have demonstrated their own to try to ward off the enemy, and this has seemed to of drawn them on. As Aneans fight and flee the destruction, they have already pulled in their adversaries in Cal to their side. Yes, despite strained relations, our friends down south have already made it clear that they will not stand by while million die.
"If we do face annihilation, we will do so in good company. But we are also not mad. Already I have signed off on use of the Pattern Defense System in the event that our beautiful Union is threatened directly by weapons of mass destruction. We all know the dangers of its usage, but they are deemed acceptable risks compared to this land of ours no longer being what it is.
"Already our armed forces are mobilizing. What more, I ask that all members of the Furry Federation come together to fight this menace. No, I call upon all nations of the world to help end this threat.
"The enemy has already targeted orbital weapons of other nations. And has even taken out a couple of our own military satellites, likely seeing them as a threat. This alone would be an act of war, but it is a minor inconvenience compared the evil they are doing.
"We are aware of the likely odds we face. We have dozens of people who calculate such things. But odds are not enough. Murder is always wrong."
The fox starred into the camera for another dramatic pause.
"Finally, as of now we are opening our doors to refugees of the conflict. There will likely be part of the New Gracaria that will no longer be inhabitable for quite some time even if the enemy left now. So we can offer our friends homes, short or long term, if they need it.
"We are a strong Union of many peoples. Each of us brings our unique talents to everything we do. We're unpredictable. We're unique. And we're stubborn when it comes to being knocked out. I have a strong faith that the spirits that be will guide and protect us through this long night.
"Good night, and may Glorvan, God, or whom ever you worship, have mercy on our lives."
-----
An eye opens for a brief moment and looks.
---They'll be ok---
It closes.
------
First Speaker Lenord was still at his desk. The cameras were off and being packed up already. Sirens were blaring all across the city, coming through the building as simply an odd background sound to those with the best ears. Most of the eight million inhabitants of Arx would soon be in shelters, some of them in the natural cave system under the city and its attached fur made tunnels.
He picked up his favorite pen and signed on the dotted line. It was the authorization to use full military force against any and all Galactic Federation forces.
"Thank you sir," said Supreme Commander Kraz, taking the paper from the desk.
"Fuck you," he said flatly.
"Not today First Speaker. Today we ravage some space twists."
Lenord leaned back in his chair with quite a huff. "Really? Really? Because from what I've seen we have squat when it comes to death rays and space nukes. Did that dragon ever think we'd be in this situation? Probably, but he banned space weapons anyway. We could be taking the fight to them up there instead of waiting for them to hit us here."
"Law is not my speciality," said the big cat.
"He's probably hiding in his castle. The twerp."
----
Near Dobplaron, Miokalia, the trio stood outside a cargo container. The light show they had just seen had the three on edge. The cargo container belonged to the one in front. He was fiddling with a series of locks on it.
"Is this really necessary? If the world is to fail then what is left? What hope do we have?"
"Meva, there is always hope. Stop being so dramatic."
"She's right through. We're all probably going to die soon. Would make more sense to enjoy it."
The locks opened and the leader entered. He soon returned with a long and flat wooden box.
"You forget that I've seen things that will bend your mind. That should be impossible. And I know that it is possible to defeat fate. I've done it."
"That box…" said the female. "You can't be serious can you?"
The leader of the trio shrugged. "I am. And if this is the last resort. Well, then I would be in the wrong to not at least be ready for it."
He began to lock up the container. They had been shipping it along their travel paths for months. They had just lucked out to be in the same place as it when things started going down.

Lieutenant Masako TijerinaThe GK-II in front of me exploded. Damn. I loaded in APHE rounds and began to fire at the tanks. With the first 3 rounds, 2 Federation tanks were destroyed. Communications must have been unjammed because a tank commander said, "Lieutenant Tijerina, we have a problem. I am still out of the fighting for right now but there are thousands of Federation soldiers converging on you. I count... at least 1,000 main battle tanks. You guys better get that train rolling ASAP. They seem to be coming only from the east for now." ONE THOUSAND tanks? Good god, this is worse than I ever thought. We can't hold against that. I glanced at my 10 kiloton nuclear round and debated. No, I will wait until this truly turns against us then I will use it. The AIFVs were unloading the soldiers that were riding inside. Some of them, luckily, had anti tank weapons. The rest were just standard infantry. I wonder when IX will arrive with those reinforcements. We're gonna need them soon. Captain KC, NGDF (New Gracaria Defense Force) Command CenterI am surprised that we even survived the bombardment. Now I am stuck in this building with 15,000 soldiers holding the ground. So far they have held the Federation off, but we are trying to find an escape before we are overrun. "Sir, the Federation is making another push." "Of course. They always make another push." I said. "Just do what we always do. Let them get close and then let the building's defenses take them out. If they breach the walls, I want all forces to pull back to the secondary defenses around the main building. Also find me an escape route ASAP." "Yes sir." The walls should hold though. They are 25' high, 15' thick, and have an adamantium core in the concrete. It's not easy to break through, but it can still fall with enough firepower. I sent out a radio message to all Anean, and allied, forces on the planet. "This is Captain KC, TEL. Me and 15,000 AGF soldiers are holed up in the New Gracaria Command Center under constant attack from Federation forces. We are running low on ammunition and may need evacuation soon. We should be able to hold out for another day, but no more than that." 5 more Cluster Ships dropped-in and immediately unloaded thousands of Cosmodrones on the Federation ship. Two unknown nuclear detonations happened below, near Dobplaron in Miokalia, where most of the assault was originating. Pratzam ordered his ships to fire 5 more neutron torpedos into the Federation ship. Qualt shouted, ARHHHHH! MOTHERLAAAAND!inappropriately while standing on a desk in the war-room. High Lord Admiral Hong Tupin
I started to get loud as the weapons hit us. "Pull back! Get the Talon Star out of the line of fire! Put the transport ships in the way! I don't care! JUST GET US OUT OF HERE."
The engines started and we started to go into higher orbit. Damn. I don't think this can get any worse.
"Give me a damage report."
"The bottom 7 decks are gone sir. There is no one left on them. The engines have sustained significant damage, but they should be fixed in the hour. Our generators are fine for now, but we have to keep them running if we want to keep firing."
"Get us away from the planet and get the warships to form a perimeter around this ship."
Another officer said, "Sir! There is a destroyer heading for the country that has been firing at us! They are heading direct for a city. Our scanners show the engine is going critical."
That'll take out everything in 15 miles... Hmm... Indeed they are brave and willing to give their life for the Federation. I wish I had more people like them.
"Let them go. Might as well put a dent in their forces and possibly get them to stop attacking us."
The only good thing is that even if they shoot the the destroyer down, which they probably will, the engines will still explode. Deflect that you barbaric sons of bitches.
