General IX
"Keep your money. I can pay for my people. I am offering this from my personal account. No need to repay me. I have no desire to put a nation into debt. I can lower the amount to something you might find more reasonable, but in the end it's up to you. I only want to make amends in the only way I know how."

Stidham sat in stunned silence for several minutes as what IX said finally registered. His face grew a little paler as he slowly picked up the quill.
"I'm sorry. That number was- you were offering-excuse me for a moment."
Stidham stood up, and walked outside, his hands trembling. He quickly came back in, puffing on a pipe, and began to pace.
"While your monetary contributions would be appreciated, General, the people would eat me alive if they found out. And no, that's not a euphemism. I...have it handled on that end. What we need to do now is salvage the political situation. I do not know what it is like on your homeworld, but I would rather not little green men with rayguns murder me in my sleep because the public demanded it.
"At the same time, those on my end are furious about our sovereign airspace being violated twice on the same day, and if I do not placate them somehow heads will roll, one of them being mine. As this was all a great mix-up, you and your men do not have to be here, and obviously any act of being 'prisoner' was common courtesy on your part. Unfortunately, the views of my people are...rather dated, one might say. Any suggestions on your end would be grateful, as the only ones I have in mind would probably offend some of your sensibilities."

General IX
"If I recall, I said I was open to any suggestions to fix this. Don't worry about my 'sensibilities'. If I don't like an idea, I would tell you. I want this fixed as much you I think. Remember, my shuttle got shot down by a train.
"On that thought, I would like to find out who shot me down. I want to give him a medal for that. Hell of a shot."

"You shot down most of them, the rest went off gallivanting with that giant white...fluffball of yours. I'm sure the Lady Commander could have them all stand in lovely rows while you pin something to their chests, but I have a very distinct feeling they already managed to get their rewards..."
"...on that note, I think we can probably flush the incident out of the heads of the plebians after throwing money at the upstarts...we need to make sure that the mourning is respected, and quickly turn it into a celebration..."
He leaned back, looking thoughtfully at General IX before a smile crept across his face. His sharpened teeth gleamed in the light.
"Tell me, General. Are you married?"

General IX
This could be bad. No... it WILL be bad.
"No... no I am not married. Why do you ask?"

"Because on this planet there is a very ancient practice of covering up mistakes and forging better bonds. Of course, it's not official at all in any capacity, but it does make the people feel better. After all, war leaders do not attack the country their spouse lives in. I propose a political marriage between one of your men, or you, and someone on this side of the border. A cementing of bonds, and perhaps it could serve as a bright point to bring back home, a 'successful first contact' or something.
"I think I have the right woman in mind as well..."

General IX
What have I gotten myself into? Oh well, I always wanted and family and this could be a way to start one.
"That would make sense. I could do it. It'd look good on me back home as well. Fix ties, gain more support from the people, not get in anymore trouble. I think it will work. Who did you have in mind?"

"Oh, I think you've already met. Lady Commander J'ozi Tiam. She's not hard to miss, and I think she's already got a shine to you and that tiger fellow. I'm afraid she's the closest high-ranking female officer I have General, do you have anyone in mind?"

General IX
Good job, I got myself into this. I guess I have to follow through with it now.
"No, I believe that she would be the... better choice so to speak."
She's bigger than me and, as proven, can carry me around. I'm an idiot.

"Right right...of course..now I can get the paperwork right away, and I can arrange the three ceremonies required here...are there any special ceremonies required on your end?"
A crisply dressed fox walked in and murmured something in Stidham's ears.
"I'm sorry but you'll have to inform the bride yourself, duty calls. Sorry for the inconvenience."
Stidham and the fox promptly left, hushed whispers quickly turning into high-intensity arguing in Aatuylvan.

"You should be more careful around the trees. Wildfires in the jungle are next to impossible to put out."
Corzi looked sternly at Kael, ignoring that his leg had opened up and was starting to make the bandages turn red with blood.

"Ahh but that's the miracle of our technology. It won't go outside the projector ring" he smiles and looks down at the leg, wincing a bit before petting over Tisra when she shivered.
"And are you sure you're okay mister? I mean... your leg is bleeding again" he looked out at the battlefield as the recruits began to fight and spar amongst each other, fighting one-another to the death with martial arts moves never seen before on this planet... or so Kael hoped.

Corzi focused on Kael, his eyes not blinking for a moment.
"The fires they start are real. If the real trees hanging above your playground catch fire, it will spread. You should be more careful around the trees that shelter you."
He winces, hobbling off on the makeshift crutch, heading back over towards a medical tent.

"He'll never understand it methinks..." says Tisra before sighing and smiling a bit at Kael. "Think Tod will... y'know..."
"Probably in the future... he's got too much on his mind right now to think about family" he sighed and smiled at her. "I can easily take care of you you know"
"I know..." she smiled and noticed something going on at the gate, headtilting and squirming free from Kael to go see what was going on
