Lady Tie smiled smiled a little "Well I could facilitate trade deals, but you could send your National Marketing Board people up to the new city we are building in the north. You see we are a nation of the south, but the purpose of the city is to allow trade. You could use it as a bridge head to the other trading nations, and well by pass them to trade directly with corps and other things."
"It is a very capitalistic idea but by nature trade is is it not?"
Dame Sie chipped in "You could also use it as a way to spread the word of your politics and ideals.
Bring attention to your nation and way of life to the world with out the world coming here...well until such time as your people are ready for them.
It would be relatively inexpensive."
Lady Tie shrugged "This would of course be your choice, but in the mean time we would be more than happy to exchange ambassadors. I can have a list of embassy building to your office, or what ever office your government wishes, very rapidly.
If we have no problems, no time like the present to get these things done?"

The jungles of Aatuylva gave way to vast concrete and steel towers, their guns tracking the airship as it moved, their secondary guns scanning the treetops. The fortress-city of Accallia was seen, it's walls and towers, blockhouses and castles a startling grey against the green. Among them, the tallest was Tower One, a vast fortress that stood almost as high as the mountains, watching over the gold and bronze Imperial Palace. The Governor wiped sweat from his forehead again. Am I too short? Will they see me as weak? I really should work out more...Age and a desk job had given him a spare cog, and there was no helping that... -------------------- "You are cleared to land." =Max du Pont, "Marginal Duties" Minister=The Aerial Diplomatic Enterpreur I landed, if 'docking airship-style' can be considered landing. A ramp lowered; the Marginal Duties Minister, as well as the (fool-ish) officer who was the Main Officer, came out of the airship. Lady Tie smiled smiled a little "Well I could facilitate trade deals, but you could send your National Marketing Board people up to the new city we are building in the north. If we have no problems, no time like the present to get these things done?" =Minister of Internal Affairs, Drae Selek="Well." Started the Minister. "Many of us come from the 'other places' of Earth. Long ago, there they used to have different trade systems. One of them was Merchantilism; basically, it is a variant of protectionism in which the state favours exports and both limits and heavily taxes imports. I need to point out that while our nation applied this idea to the 'trade' between our meinland and the colony, the colonial population is not that many to be able to keep up with the surplus." The Minister paused. "Okay, enough history. I agree that we need a way to get rid of soo much surpluses. Our recycling centers can not recycle something that is not 'waste' very efficiently, and not everything can be stockpiled." He paused. "However... The Supreme Commander has still yet to delegate someone from us to lead the board. It can be considered both Internal and External affairs, so I have no idea what plans has the SC in mind..."

=Joint Chief of the Traditional Army, Colonel Horacio Ehrlich Mercado="He,he... Being honest, too, that was pretty common during Farsante's time." The Joint Chief almost smiled. After the island's location was mentioned, the map altered slightly to note it. Governor-Militant IX"Well, the Imperial Senate tried to kill me. They don't seem to like military commanders they can't control. The Inquisition tried to kill me, but I killed them all. Easier to kill secret organizations than the only shred of democracy. "But anyway, diplomatic stuff. Where to start?"

He replied, eager to tell more about the last topic.

"Alright, lead on," said the Captain as she climbed inside the conveyance. =Joint Chief of Air Force, Sea-Ocean & Space Fleet 'Liutenant'="Very well." Replied the Joint Chief, and the hovercar was soon speeding up. Soon, they were in the main street; a large momument could be seen. Taller than the rest of the buildings close to it, it was the Arga Zen - which meant, respectively "Nueva Luz" or "New Light". It was tall and thin, and on the top, was a shinning blue light. It's colour changed according to climate. As it was now blue, it meant it was 'good' (for centralizans, that is 'warm' ). The other monuments were relatively interesting too; the Greater Zenith, the Lone Star, and the Xilith-Dei. The most important building, however - which 'Liutenant' eventually wanted to talk about - was his Joint Chief Office. To the naked eye, it was a smaller version of the Neo Kremlin; Light gray instead of white, and with a more 'western' approach to outer decoration. On the inside, it was all a 'non-biological Sentient' could wish for. After showing his guest the city's fully-automated docks, he 'drove' back to the JCO. "There we are." He said. "This is my Joint Cheif Office. From there I lead my part of the Army." He explained, 'parking' the hovercar as he did.

"So, where should we start? Where shall we be off to? I understand that you just came out of a much more isolationist and probably oppressive government?", Andertol tried finding a way to start coversation.

"So, where should we start? Where shall we be off to? I understand that you just came out of a much more isolationist and probably oppressive government?", Andertol tried finding a way to start coversation. =Minister of External Affairs, Xint-Zei="Exactly. The previous goverment tried to keep our nation away from anything that was not... Well, 'supportive' of the goverment." He paused. "To be precise, the head of state and goverment - Farsante." =Joint Chief of the Traditional Army, Colonel Horacio Ehrlich Mercado="Depends on what do you intend to do. Call each one of them a separate army if you wish; they, we operate as such. If for example, you wish to send military aid to the Traditional Army, or wish aid from it for the matter, I will be the one you will arrange things with. That is, after the Supreme Commander authorizes me too." The Colonel felt he had explained things accurately - too much for his taste. For him, the fact of sharing the 'defense' of the nation with two other armies was... not exactly something he would be proud of.

"It is just that the new city of Sarue nu will be handed over to us soon and it might be that the hand over might be a good occasion for your nation to become move visible to the wider public. Should you have set up a trade office or say have bought one of the spires to act as your, so to speak, embassy to the corps and other trading entities, you flag would fly along with the other nations that have them selves directly, or indirectly via commercial interests based in the nation, invested in the venture. " she continued. Dame Sie chipped in "It's also due to various factors kinda cheaper to do it currently." Lady Tie laughed "But enough of the sales pitch, what ever the ministry of trade may think the diplomatic corps is not there to make money, just friends. Well that and the foreign office's job is to keep us out of war, heck when we get into on, which is infrequent, the foreign sectary offers there resignation as they have obviously failed." Tie tilted her head "Would you be open to setting up formal ties and normalising relations, you know exchanging ambassadors and the like? Unlike other nations we don't bring half an army to guard our embassy, just a few ceremonial guards. We like to show that we trust our hosts by trusting them with the security of the buildings and the safety of our staff." Dame Sie chipped in "We have a number of places in Tel that might intrest you, from the very large to more modest and discrete. We would not be looking for a large building our selves here to begin with but in time may well expand our diplomatic mission here, like you may in Tel, our capital."

He has a problem, however, than when someone does not call him for his correct 'political title'..." The minister paused. "Oh, well, no time for that. As I have said I am sure that mostly every minister, leader, and military I know about will be pleased about this offer. May I act as the interim abassador? I know the question seems rather strange, however; I would like to know more about Tel, and the only way I could leave the nation was if another nation requested that I was the ambassador." The minister paused, wondering if he had said too much...

The special forces people keep saying they should be separate, but they are still classified under the AGF. "But the aid thing, what kind of aid could I give?"

From military advisors to heavy panzers, to airships and seaships. The only limitations are in mass-destruction weapons. The Supreme Commander does not like that kind of weaponry. I do not agree. But still, he allows cruise missiles... Same way goes when we send aid ourselves, too." He paused. "Of course, I am aware of the diplomatic benefits of sending aid, and the fact that any aid to the Traditional Army strengten's our position compared to the other armies..." He added.

"Welcome to Aatuylva!"
The governor was not like the War Minister, he wasn't a linguist by any measure, and he hoped at least that someone on their side spoke Aatuylvan well enough...thankfully after this initial meeting there would be an Arbitor to serve as translator, but until then he'd have to do the best he could.
He resisted the urge to readjust his suit one final time as he held out his hand.
That's what the outsiders do, isn't it? Shake hands?
The armed guards behind him stood at attention, their needlers and rifles at their shoulders.

The Main Officer went to make the on-board translation system as much 'portable' as he and his crew could...
