Gothor's ears were pulled tight to his head. "Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for busting some heads on occasion, but what I'm hearing from you and about this whole situation... it seems a little like crazy talk to be honest. Implants? Like machines? No disrespect to the fact that you popped up millions of light years from your home planet, but to have these folks just appear like this seems like an elaborate construct of fiction. Forced assimilation sounds just like an enemy force that takes no prisoners to me. And what of their means of getting in here? Are they going to hop on rafts and start snipping your fishing boats? Or do they just have helicopters that come out of their hats? And what the ulkibo is a Welhan Protocol? I think a little demanding for answers might be required here."
[OOC: Gothor is an impatient prick if it wasn't obvious. And since I forgot to explain what my * from the previous message was, Gothor's native tongue is not Tinisian, but a aboriginal-esq language spoken in Tinis before the modern arrivals showed up from Pargalo. Its unlikely anyone might recognize it when he grumbles in it.]

Colonel Nakhi Welhan
"Watch how you speak to me. Me and my people are the only hope this planet has of effectively fighting these invaders. Don't take this as a threat, but right now our colony should be evacuating the planet. I do believe, however, that we can push these people back.
"I do recall that I said it was a BASIC overview of what we are fighting. Now I don't know how the hell they got here, and I don't much care. What I do know though is that if it is not contained here, the entire planet is threatened. If we cannot work together, then I fear that this planet will fall in days.
"The forced assimilation is just that. I have seen what they do to prisoners. It involves nanobots, surgery, genetic recoding, and brainwashing. If you wish, you can ask the General to give you an idea of what it is like. He will give you all the gruesome details from the capture to the near assimilation.
"And the Welhan Protocol was created by our Emperor, hence the name. It gives a set of orders that all Anean forces MUST obey in the event of a Pudrian incursion. Chief among those orders is the execution of a planet's population following a major Pudrian invasion. That being the taking of at least 45% of the planet before repulsing the attackers. On that note, I would hate to see that happen. That is why I am trying to make the severity of this situation fully known.
"Again, General IX can explain this better. He is the one to ask the tougher questions."
I looked down at the map. Only a few minutes now.
General IX
I saw the carrier ahead. I said into the radio, "This is Anean General IX coming in at the carrier at full speed. Am I clear to land?"
I barely made out the other 5 members of the Legion on the deck next to a badly damaged shuttle.

"2 out of 3 Dachahachiys are out of the area, they're going over the north pole and should land at the designated mid-ocean location.", said a report coming in to Owen.
"Oh", said Owen, "Where is number 3?"
"#3 was engaged by a weapon of some kind and self-destructed according the program."
(Dachahachiys are unfurred, usually high-altitude recon aircraft.)
Blinn walked off-screen and then pulled a chair up, turned it sideways to make room for his vent-covered, sectional tail and then sat. His way of indicating impatience.
He wanted to know if they could actually do something, or if the Pudrians had already progressed to the point of repelling everything in the Miokalian and Malych arsenals. An important piece of information as it would determine the longer-term plans regarding national security and preservation of information.
Blinn was also preemptively irritated in anticipation of someone drawing a connection between the partly-inorganic Pudrians and his own completely inorganic species. In the interest of not starting a fight, he chose not to take offense at the Colonel's likening of the Pudrians to 'machines'. Everyone was on edge, and he knew he had a tendency towards being 'bitey' when on edge. He was leaning in such a manner that the chair only had two legs on the floor.
Upon hearing the explanation of the Welhan protocol, he about fell over.
Tlorgan picked up the line to the Secretary Tajir, Vuela. And Blinn sent a huge message to Apparateur Qualt. Recommending elevating the alert level from POSCON 4 to POSCON 3. And advising the arming of the tactical nuclear arsenal.
Blinn pushed the chair out of the way and said, "Colonel: I do not believe we are operating on the same standards as you here. My nation's forces are here to help prevent the Pudrians from being able to destroy people and information. To prevent them from destroying the civilization and cultures. If we are unable to do the latter, then we're going to at least try to prevent the destruction of life. If the Pudrians are successful in destroying the civilization and cultures then we intend to send a manifest of all of that information to our neighbors on Corona Beta VII, so that at the very least, it is preserved. But we simply cannot accept the wholesale slaughter of civilians. I should let you know that we have other options on the table regarding a >45% saturation scenario which are considerably less destructive and would at least give the remaining population a fighting chance or escape, rather than death. I'd prefer you consider these other options before choosing to finish what the Pudrians have started."
Blinn was almost frothing at the mouth, he then finished: "I mean no disrespect, but I cannot give up like that. It is unfathomable."

P'rova had heard enough. Too much...these...Suikodan, and the 'Aneans'... It could be a ruse, it could be real. Either way, only one action could be taken. Full mobilization. Aatuylva must be protected, and a few separatists are the least of their problems if anything said, and anything he suspected, were even half true. Not all of the words he understood, but the intentions were clear.
"If you must pardon me, Kuunmiru Nova. I require the use of a long-range transmitter. It is apparent that the situation is much worse..." He looks over at the Anean Colonel, "...than originally implied in your communique. I need to request...reinforcements..from the War Minister."
------------------------------------------
Graves forced himself to be calm. It was the only thing keeping the Primes from causing an outburst from all of it. They should've sent an Arbitor, not a commissar... And now P'rova is leaving. Not good. This meant a military lockdown, no doubt. Headed by InSec. Damn Ai'lupan and his politics.
None of it was his real concern, however, he just needed to know when, where, and with what. Let the higher ups bicker like children. Although the Tinisian commander seems decent...

Colonel Nakhi Welhan"I have no intention of carrying out the protocol. The only reason for that is to prevent the spread of the Pudrian technology. In the event of the taking of 45% of the planet, the Emperor believed that the populace was more than likely exposed to the Pudrians, so they could be "infected". "As I said though, I do not want to carry out the protocol. The trouble is convincing IX not to. He has a personal vendetta against them. "I do believe that if we can form an effective resistance and respond with everything we have, then we can push the Pudrians back to wherever they came from. I tapped away at my datapad a bit more. I am getting reinforcements. "In two days, another one and a half million of our soldiers will arrive. That is my time estimate anyway. Whenever IX gets here, he will-" General IXI speed walked into the room. "Sorry I am late. I assume that most of you know who I am. Now, what the hell was that radio message? I really hope that that message was fabricated."

OOC : Just to be sure... The Anean General went to the Pyrus Aircraft, where Blade and the Anean Colonel are ? OOC : Also... I didn't knew that Miokalia was from another world too... Corona Beta VII ? The danger was high, the threat present and knocking at their door... and those Outsiders were almost ready to jump on each other... Chaotic talks and nothing was being made and decided... And now, an additional threat in the form of a deadly timer... Blade-Mind : *Damn Outsiders... They are incapable of quickly coordinating their actions for a common cause... We are loosing precious time. We should have...* Nova-Mind : *No ! ...It is not ready yet... It needs more testing, more preparations... We can't just send it on the field without a single simulation...* Blade-Mind : *...Maybe... But if we can't organize those damn ''reinforcements'', we might have to do it, sooner than we thought.* As the Anean General was entering the room, Blade was slowly moving his head in disbelief, wondering where they should start to finally get things working properly and to maintain this ''Emergency'' conference on the optimal track... Blade-voice : '' I welcome you General of the Aneans, I'm the General of the Hive Forces, have a seat... It is a pity that we must meet under such circumstances, especially after what we heard about a... certain Protocol... but we will come to that later.'' Nova-Voice : '' Right now, we MUST organize quickly and effectively, if we hope to have a chance against that mysterious Enemy, you called Pudrian...'' '' Miokalia, Tinis, Aatuylva and the Anean Nations, all of you have responded to our call, all of you are here to prevent the loses of lives and to preserve our world... Humans to Lizards, Hive people to Robotic people... You all came knowing little about the threat you would face, simply because it was your duty or for more deep reasons...'' Blade-voice : '' Each soldiers, each ships, even each bullets you bring with you here, might do the difference in this War... because... It's a War and, even if we have been dragged into it or it's it that found us, some of us will die to return those creatures where they come from, into the Onos Portal.'' As Blade was saying those last words, he typed a few commands on the integrated desk-computer and 2 maps appeared on the side-screens : - Zoom on the Island : nova225.deviantart.com/art/Nation-Acronos-Island-164081420?q=sort%3Atime+gallery%3Anova225&qo=1- Map of the Hive Fleet : nova225.deviantart.com/art/Nation-The-Rift-War-164629620?q=sort%3Atime+gallery%3Anova225&qo=0Smiling. '' Of course... we will try to limit the loses as much as we can.''

[[[OOC: Miokalia is not. The Malych are (probably). CB VII is a planet which friendly contact has been established with. detail: furfed.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=profile&thread=274&page=1#3985(last entry on the nation description thread) ]]] Tlorgan got off the phone with the Sec. Tajir, primarily because he wanted to make sure that they didn't get unnecessarily placed on POSCON 1 from Blinn's fit. "Dol Blinn", Tlorgan addressed him, "Really was that necessary? It's called rhetoric. It seems the Aneans sometimes have an odd way of expressing the gravity of a situation." Blinn only looked down a bit, put his microphone on mute and quietly said to Tlorgan, "Don't patronize me commander. As long as they have the Welhan Protocol on the table as an option, we are going to keep Salvage Plan Merriwether and Defense Plan 'R' on the table as well." "You and I both know that Defense Plan 'R' would probably just get us all killed. And Salvage Plan Merriwether would require technology which nobody has. Not even the Aneans." "But the Pudrians appear to have it", said Blinn, "From what I've heard so far, if the Pudrians didn't have it, then they really wouldn't be all that much of a threat now would they?" "You're insane... and yet, I agree with you.", said Tlorgan. "If we had it, then it certainly turns the tables on the Pudrians.", said Blinn. "It could be a way to... undo them." "Sure. Assuming we know enough about their physiology to make such assumptions. Which we uh... don't.", said Tlorgan. "I'm basing these assumptions on observations of isolated phenomena. The Pudrians have a biological component. I'm assuming they have brains, Tlorgan. You can brainwash and condition a brain, but there is no such thing as completely 'formatting' it. It is inherent to the fact that it is analogue." "I understand what you're getting at, but it may not be very good to start seeing these Pudrians as people right before we're supposed to be fighting them.", said Tlorgan. "That's why at this point, we're going to keep this quiet. Until we can actually act on these theories. There is nothing we can do but fight this invasion.", said Blinn, "But the Apparateur has already indicated that he wants to make sure that we acquire this." He took the microphone off of mute. And waited for IX to start the conferrence.

General IX
"Well, I guess you are waiting for me to say something. Honestly, I never thought that I would be fighting these things again. I wish I know how they got here.
"I need to know what you all want to know though before I go off on my speech. I have a lot to tell, but not much time to do so. We need to get on the ground and fighting ASAP."

Nova-Voice : ''First, General of the Anean, the people of the Hive want to know your relation with the Pudrian Species... I'm asking you to not take it as an insult, in any ways, but the thoughts think that you may be responsible for the Pudrians attack, maybe because of a war between your 2 races and us being caught in a cross-fire...''
Blade-Voice : ''Second, for you and for the other allies... Knowing exactly the number of available troops would be a useful data, for everyone... We have upto 1M of potential troops : 50% are allocated to the Naval Fleet and are used to prevent the Enemy from leaving Acronos ; 30% for the Air Force, but because of some details we will speak a bit later, only the transports can be used for now ; 20% for the Earth Force... we have Troop transporters ready to leave, when required.''

"And what is the most effective way to kill them", asked Blinn, "I want to know what methods you used to repel them in the past. We need to know if they are flammable, If they are vulnerable to alpha, beta or gamma rays, Or if they can be fought successfully at close combat and what with."

"How effective are ballistics against them? What are their common tactics? Do they use mechanized infantry, and if so, do you have specs on the most commonly used armor unit?"
Now was the part he understood. Graves had to know what to tell his men.

Blinn added, "Right, I also need to know a few technical specifications if they have mech inf. I need to know if they use any kind of analogue-isotropic-array computers, also I need to know some details about their digital equipment, such as how many bits per byte, if they use spintronics, planar carbon... Or just send us a big data sheet on it since we're short on time."

General IX
I should have thought that through before I said, 'ask me anything'. Better get started going down the list.
"I will go in order of how the questions were asked.
"About relations with the Pudrians, I am a soldier that watched thousands die from the Pudrians. I hate them, as does my government. However, if you are asking about me specifically, then I feel it is important to know that I was once captured by the Pudrians. They began their assimilation process on me and that has left me scarred. I will never fully recover. What it did do however was give me a full knowledge of the Pudrians and what they can die by. Of course, I also adapt Anean knowledge into that.
"And if you believe that we are responsible for the attack, then you are mistaken. They are out to attack and assimilate all living things, not just us. However they got here, it wasn't by space. The fleet would have picked that up.
"As for our military, if we were to bring our entire active force down on the planet to fight the Pudrians, then we have two hundred million soldiers at our disposal. However, I will not allow any more than two million of ours on the planet.
"To answer the question about killing them, almost anything will kill them. Of course, some are more effective than others. I have found that ballistics are generally more effective. I don't know why, but it seems that way. And that is a good thing considering we never moved away from ballistic weapons for our ground forces.
"As for tanks, it'd be hard to get them here. When I bring over a GK-II tank, our MBT, I will give a size comparison. The mechanized infantry though is possible. I never encountered any though, so I don't know the sizes. I only know that they exist.
"And for the person that asked me about the technical specifications, please don't use big words. I am only a soldier."

OOC : Two... Hundred... MILLIONS !!! ....I mean... Don't you just have, what ? 5-6 ships in orbit ? ....and I think I remember that your planet is supposed to be DAYS from our solar system (if not more if we apply Reality... Space is wide)... So that number seems a bit exagerated... or maybe the General just want to impress us ?

I never said that is how many will land or how many will mobilize even. I was only saying that if necessary, there are that many soldiers in the AGF on active duty. And on another note, mobilizing that many soldiers would be a logistics hell, so obviously that's out of the question.
