Tailinto smiled "He was a good friend to the old git when he needed it. Under it all I think he might have been something more."
Tailinto smiled "Don't worry about the guards, they are harmless unless provoked. I suspect we are the only party here without fire arms.
Perhaps the only people here that trust you?
I'm a politician so don't trust me but between all of us we only have blades, two stones and our trust that you will protect us.
Feel free to scan them. Well an me if you wish."
Tailinto neglected to mention the massive fire power out at sea, and the fact the commonwealth could send three 300 meter cruisers as a diversion.
The Rook, Raven and Crow where to be the ships to do the salute.

"And according to me, your security is a laughing stock of this planet, Sargent, I was going to move on my own, but seeing you're taking an attitude, I DARE you to try and move me" he rested his hands on either of his hips as he stared down the guard. "Now if you apologize, I will leave, if not, then I suggest you start getting use to me."
He wasn't about to have someone cock an attitude with him and get away with it... especially some waternecked guard.

Governor-Militant Nakhi Welhan
"Actually, I believe that is true. No... wait... the Remnoran Royal Guard is unarmed, other than their swords. I also think you might be right about the trust. We had... a couple issues earlier. I won't go into detail on that right now.
"And I trust your word enough to believe it is only blades. If you'll follow me, then we can get to the train downstairs."
I probably should have explained what happened, but it is no big deal I think.
Sergeant Nakhi Welhan II
"My security? If it was up to me this island would have been locked down. Can't blame me, or my father, for what happened. Maybe, just maybe, if IX didn't die, none of that would have happened.
"And, quite frankly, I have gotten used to you. But I have little tolerance for a person that acts like he runs everything even when he has no real power anymore."

"Yes, I act like I run the place... ri~ight... all I did was merely issue a challenge to you and you suddenly think I am trying to run the show..." he tsks slowly and shakes his head. "Well, have a good day, hopefully nothing bad will happen to anymore people..." he couldn't help but smirk evily at that comment.
He walked away and headed back over to where Tiam was, reaching out to tap her on the shoulder.

Tiam turned, a little startled.
"Yes Tod, what is it?"

Queen Ecquano glared at Tailinto, but she was long enough in the tooth to leave it at that. Tailinto had the advantage of knowing, rather too well in her opinion, the islands governor.
The Queen nodded to her guards and they walked forwards. she said "I am Ecquano Queen of Teuies, I am pleased to meet you. I am aware of your relationship with Tailinto. But shall we keep these matters of personal relations restrained? This is after all a somber occasion, not one for frivolity."
Tailinto muttered in teerie "What crawled up her arse."
Turned and glared at her saying in teerie "I can speak teerie."
Tailinto muttered "bugger."
The teerie guards were doing their best not to laugh, but there amusement was apparent.
"Shall we proceed to the transport?" the queen said quietly.

Governor Nakhi Welhan I
"Welcome to New Gracaria your majesty. And yes, you're right about keeping it restrained today for the ceremony. If you'll just follow me, the trains are right downstairs."
Of course, if IX was able to give an opinion, I'm pretty sure he'd say something along the lines of, "Nah, it's just my funeral. Let them do whatever." That thought made me smile a bit.
I walked back to the entrance to the roof clanging the whole way. As I reached to open the door, it opened and Marshal Soldavini came up.
He said, "Oh, there's people up here. Heh, so much for being able to enjoy a view until we left."
I turned around and said, "This is Federation Marshal Soldavini. He was commander of Federation forces on Talon. Yes, it's the same Federation that invaded us only a couple weeks ago."
"Yes, the people that attacked were fools. Couldn't accept defeat."

Queen Ecquano smiled "That is it would be, please lead us to our transit"
Tailinto smiled and was making in appropriate gestures suggesting the queen pleasured herself.

OOC: Jumping ahead to the ceremony in the south. It took about 6 hours to get there.
Governor-Militant Nakhi Welhan
Hell of a cliff that IX chose. 200 foot drop into rocks and the water. I am surprised we managed to get this above ground thing built. It's just marble, but has some engravings I cannot make out.
The Imperial Guard is in formation behind the main group. I think almost every single person here is military. The RRG soldiers are in their green and white uniforms. The TEL in their black and white. The Imperial Guard in their grey... with the Nazi-esque red armbands. Even two Palace Guards in their red, white, and black made it.
Then there's Tiam's royal guard, the Cali queen and her guards, as well as the Federation soldiers. The last one is wearing their Federation battle armor. Good to see their soldiers without rifles at my head.
Marshal Soldavini towers above everyone as well. Rather humorous to me.
I watched four people - my son, Luca, Masako, and Waya - carry IX's gold plated casket through the gap in the crowd. They set it down on a holder that was keeping it just above the top of the marble "box". On top is the Anean flag.
Prime Minister Dodwell, unfortunately, gets to speak first since he is the highest "ranked" Anean here.
He walked up and said, "We all know why we are here. I don't agree with it since this asshole didn't deserve a ceremony in the first place."
I heard the click of someone's Class B rifle. That was definitely Imperial Guard.
"Anyway, I am supposed to say something positive about him. You have no idea just how difficult that is. Since he took over, he forced his liberal reforms down the throat of the Empire. No one wanted it, yet he is still hailed as a hero.
"Thank the gods he is dead."
He walked back to his spot in the crowd with a smirk as if he accomplished something. He's lucky there are no INN cameras around or he'd be out of a job.
I finally got to step up next. Armor was clanging again and this time the AK-47 on my back was as well. I made sure to get that just in case.
I said, "Congratulations on losing the next election Dodwell. Anyway. IX... he was a hell of a man. I knew him for only about twenty years, but we have been friends the whole time. From my service in the Spetsnaz to my short tenure as Ambassador in Cal, he was a person I could turn to. He was a man of the people and put the Empire's citizens before the Empire's government. That, to me, is a sign that he only meant well.
"It's hard to deal with the loss of both an Emperor and a friend. Most of the Empire only has to deal with the former. I think he was something else. Even when everything else seemed to fail, IX fought tooth and claw against the Senate. He wasn't a great diplomat, but he did what he could despite the occasional blunder.
"I could go on and on about what he did and what he was, but it is hard enough as is just talking about it. I guess the most I can say is to look around. Every inch of this island belongs to IX, not just the Empire. He would give up anything to give everything to everyone. The Empire suffers for his loss."
I headed back to my spot in the crowd. I was able to hold tears back, but barely.

Tiam could barely contain her fury. She wanted to kill that arrogant wolf, and was halfway to ordering one of her soldiers to shoot him in the back...
Aatuylvans do not say words over the death of someone they love. They do not pray for their souls, nor do they ponder the existence beyond. They weep long before the ceremony is due, so as to present a stoic front. They do not shed tears, or moan, or sing, for they do these in private, or amongst friends. Aatuylvans, at funerals, remember.
Tiam stood up, and took the hat she had 'borrowed' from him the day they first met. She layed it at the foot of the casket, and sat down as her honor guard snapped to attention.
She shed a single tear that fell upon the grass.

Marshal Vincenzo Soldavini
I guess it's my turn. I walked out next.
"I never knew IX personally. I only knew of him from the stories and the victories and the Federation propaganda films. When I was younger he was the commander I aspired to be. As I rose through the ranks of the Federation army, I soon wanted to have a chance to engage IX on the field of battle.
"I had that chance only a few months ago. I was in command of the entire army of the Federation at the time. Planet after planet his armies advanced and I realized that whatever was said of him must have been true.
"On Talon though was when I actually was able to put my ability against him instead of my other marshals against him. I managed to hold him off for a month before the planet fell. I escaped the planet, but was soon relieved of command for such a failure. That defeat was my only one.
"I only saw IX was when he convinced his soldiers to let me live my life without their intervention. He never spoke to me, but that was the first time I ever saw the only general I ever really looked up to. Well... he was shorter than me, but you know what I mean.
"Regardless of being his enemy in the war, I realized that he might have been the greatest military commander in Anean history. The Empire mourns his loss and I definitely do as well."
I returned to my spot among my soldiers.

OOC: since I'd really like to get this done by tomorrow before I leave for South Carolina, I am going to jump ahead a little.
Governor-Militant Nakhi Welhan
Finally we are about finish this up. Just have the Imperial Guard fire five times and the Harbinger fire its 15 guns. I made sure the Guard loaded live .55 caliber ammunition just in case something does happen.
The four that brought IX's casket to the front held the flag in place as the casket was lowered into the marble container thing. I have no idea what the real name is obviously.
They folded it and Waya walked over to hand it to Tiam and Tod. Not sure who is going to keep it though. None of my concern though.
The four of them lifted the marble top - which had to be at least 300 pounds - and set it on top of the container. They then slid it into position and it fell with a rocky clang.
I looked to the left and out to sea. I saw a black spot approaching, but that's probably just some more fighters that are patrolling the coast.
The Imperial Guard fired their first salvo. The blast, I think, surprised all the people who aren't military or ex-military. The next four were fired in two second intervals.
Offshore is the ANS Harbinger. I think they timed it to fire right after the Imperial Guard because not even ten seconds later the fifteen 36" main guns of the Harbinger began to fire. Again, they are using live ammunition. There was one second of silence between each shot. I think it started at the front of the ship and worked backward.
To the right, I watched 20 fighters approach. 10 to each side of the arrowhead. I did, of course, notice that the one at the point is missing. I guess that's only since he is Emperor.
I really cannot wait until this is over.

The Accallian Royal Guard marched to either side of the crypt, and the captain of the guard knelt down and placed a small signet ring on top of it. The symbol upon the ring was of a dragon encircling a wolf, one of the many royal symbols of the late Royal Family.
Tiam didn't focus on the salutes that the Accallians performed. She wasn't much for the customs of the gun-makers anyway. She needed to return to her home, to the jungle. There were ceremonies to perform and rites that must be done this night...

ADNI Galactic Operations Commander
Tiam, Stidham, and Tod are all dead now. Just have to take out the Prime Minister and any other HVTs at the funeral.
My 50 Shuttle landed about seventy five feet behind the crowds at the funeral. Better to gain surprise I think.
I was off the shuttle first and moved toward the crowd. We ended up just behind the group of Remnoran Royal Guards. Excellent. Kill them before they can react.
The other 50 agents got into position. Basically it was just a single line. Our mission now is simply to kill everyone.
I was first to open fire with my assault rifle. Unlike the ones that landed in Aatuylva, we're actually in ADC Medium Armor and with military grade weapons, not the civilian ones.
I killed a few RRG soldiers in the first few seconds. I think at least ten had to be killed already.
Governor-Militant Nakhi Welhan
As soon as the gunfire erupted, I pulled my AK-47 off my back and pushed through the crowd that was now running away. Thank the gods that I wore this armor instead of a uniform. Bullets are just about bouncing off the armor.
I fired five shots and killed one ADNI agent. Good to know ADNI has respect for the dead.

A single gunshot, to a normal person, triggers fight or flight instincts, causing them to freeze up in most cases. In highly trained soldiers, on the other hand, it shuts down their instincts and lets their training move in its stead. As Tiam rose up in a roar, her Brosuukyda bodyguards had already readied their 'Lumberjacks', spinning them up to full speed so they could lay covering fire and suppress the ADNI troops. The Royal Guard split into two, with ten soldiers getting on their knees and laying volley fire with their bolt actions, while the other ten moving to rush Tiam and Tod back to the city, firing at targets, but mostly serving as shields themselves. They occasionally grabbed a passerby and shoved them towards the center as well, trying to reach the motorcade that brought them there. The ADNI were blocking the way. They shoved their charges to the ground and also fired volley shots, needing to clear the way. The Aatuylvan 'honor guard' of twenty five that accompanied Tiam let loose with their armor-piercing needlers and one or two grenade launchers at the ADNI. They did not know whether their armor would protect them, but it was the best Aatuylva had designed in trying to combat the wraithwolves and their own needler ammunition, so it had to hold. Blood debts needed to be repayed. " Vashtaro Vashtaira Vashtarrohntairro!!!" OOC: I cannot into tactics on the fly, sorry But we needed to get this over with before Anea went poofles.
