I smiled a little. "None of you are on the Board yet."
"As for the chips, we'll have to find out if it works or not whenever I get back to the colony. If not, then I can sell the shares and rebuy them for you. Then we work out a way to get the payment to me.
"If you bring them to the pilot of the shuttle I came in on, she'll hold onto these for me.
"Was there any other business that we needed to discuss?"

Angella blinked. "I thought you meant us... my bad!" she laughed a bit before smiling softly.
"Yes... there is one last matter. Is relations between us somewhat repaired now?" asks Lafi, tilting her head to the right

"Yes, I believe they are. They never were really bad, but as I said the hostility was toward policies.
"I did enjoy doing that to Blair though. I think that's the highlight of my day so far.
"Since my forces are in the country and there's no one else in command, would there be a place I'd be able to stay until I can get a general out here?"
Chancellor Nakhi Welhan, The Citadel, Senate Chamber
Everyone is arguing. A couple people are yelling at each at other and I think that that will deteriorate into a fist fight.
Finally, I rose and said, "Everyone, shut the hell up! You called me down here just to listen to your bickering? No, there was a point to this."
The Party Leader of the Socialists said, "You have defied us! We voted unanimously for war and yet you didn't let it go through!" There was some agreement from everyone. "I hereby call for a vote of no confidence."
The Chamber went silent. Hell of a way to do it.
I said, "Very well. You know what you have to do."
They actually skipped a step and went on to the voting. There was supposed to be a 1/5 vote for approval of the vote.
The electronic board changed. Instead of the usually yea/nay, it was changed to for/against. More than likely it means for me or against me.
I waited as the Senators voted. One year the Republic has existed and now it's about to fall. The Republicans never liked me to begin with.
Several tense minutes passed and the final vote was 486-14. There was applause and I got up and walked out. IX is going to be pissed.
I did, however, go up to the observation seats. The first thing they called for was a reduction of the DEFCON level to 3. That's a good move. The next thing was early Senate elections. That's... not good in the least.

"You have a key to general vlodovic's house, do you not?" asks Angel as soon as she came back into the room, carrying a high powered sniper rifle. "And we have a problem... there is a scout party at the south wall... about 10 soldiers, and all of them spying on our defense..."
Lafi rubbed her eyes. "Chase them away with a technical... kill them if you must..." she looked at IX. "I do apologize for the interruption, but it seems we have some uninvited guests in the area that have been lurking for the past week..."

With an audible click, I turned the safety off my machine gun. Of course, I kept my finger far from the trigger for now.
"Chase them off? Let's drive up there and I will kill them. Well... you know what I mean. We'd all kill them.
"Personally, I just want the chance to kill something."

The council looked at him when they heard the click, a devilish grin spreading across Angel's face as she motioned for him to come on. "Come!" she says, stepping back into the lift with a chestire grin spread across her face. She absolutely loved her job sometimes... maybe just a little TOO much!
After they were both in, they'd take it down to the garage, where a technical was already waiting to take them to the outside of the walls.

I stepped onto the lift and shifted my armor around. I rushed getting it on earlier and it's not entirely comfortable.
I removed my magazine. It had 200 .475 rounds. I replaced that with 200 HE rounds.
"I should have brought the heavy machine gun. These bullets are too small."

"Oh we have a .90 cal on the wall you can use... knowing these bastards, they probably brought an IFV with them" she says as she walked out from the lift, climbing into the back of the technical with two other soldiers. "The front is occupied, so I hope you don't mind riding in the back with us!"
The vehicle was loaded with a .50 cal and had plenty of weapons and ammo to go around between the group. From RPG's, to .50 cal rounds for the machinegun on the back of the vehicle.

"An IFV? Sounds like fun."
I climbed into the back of the vehicle. I sure hope the 500 pounds doesn't affect the vehicle too much.
I watched a GK-I come up alongside us and stopped.
"Well, I guess I'll be coming along with you in my vehicle."
I climbed up the front and then got on the Heavy Projectile Cannon. Another soldier is on the .80 caliber machine gun.
"Don't worry about going slow, we'll be able to keep up with you unless you choose to go around 150 mph."
I loaded APHE rounds into the HPC. If there's an IFV, that'll tear it open.

The driver of the technical nodded before hitting the gas, speeding off and getting up to around 60 before skidding around the corner, going up a ramp and onto the wall, which was big enough to support the vehicle and tanks, as well as a gunship if need be.
"Everyone out!" shouts Angel as the soldiers piled out, moving to the wall and taking defensive positions on the gunning seats as they started to search for the scouting party.

The GK-I drove past the ramp and through a gate in the wall. Now we wait for the fighting to start.
I doubled checked that my cannon was ready to fire and then forced myself to relax a little.

The roar of a diesel engine, or so it seemed, was heard in the distance as not one, but THREE IFV's came rolling over the hill, opening fire with several squads of infantry at the wall.
"Open fire! Kill every last one of them!" shouts Angel as bullets and rockets started to fly from the walls, only to get a very nasty surprise when the rockets reached the IFV's: The rockets doubled back and headed back at them twice as fast! "Duck!" she shouts before a rocket flew over her and another soldier, blowing up the front of the technical they came here on, and nearly pushing it off of the wall. "What in the name of Gaia was that?!"
"I don't know, but they seem to have a few new tricks up their sleeves" says the soldier just as the wall was burned by a heated beam of Ion energy. "They use Ion cannons on those too?!"

"I must apologize representative Ulrik," said Xovie. "But you are free to come and go. Weapons fire or not, all our respective governments will and do react as they will in situations of emergency. If you are needed elsewhere to act in that capacity you are free to leave and do just that. Our job as a deliberative body is not to order air strikes, but to figure out how they can be avoided. If that time is already passed, then the matters of war are being handled elsewhere. And so it doesn't matter if we figure out who is in the right here or not.
"But, perhaps there is a chance we can help broker a deal before the world is engulfed in flames. So despite the Aluezian delegation's incapacitation, and I do hear that some or all have discharged from the hospital, I feel we might be able to continue. Especially since there is great hostility to us waiting around for them to get back here in this chamber.
"So is there more to be said on the matter of the competing claims? If not, then Tinis will move for the Furry Federation to recognize the Aatu Confederacies original claim and to allow them to sort it out. So anyone wish to interject more bile into what should be a place of high debate?"
-----
Tod realized he and his son were no longer alone on the yacht deck. His head turned quickly at the new comer. Some relief was had in that this person was both facing away from them and was very much not in any sort of martial stance. In fact he was standing tall, wings close to his body, arms crossed, and barely balanced on the bow. All the same, the many horns of the dragons of Tinis were not the most friendly of designs.
"Sorry to startle you," said the dragon. "After your encounter in the alley I can't blame ye for not liking surprises. But don't worry, I was a bystander then whom helped track down your attackers. Alas ye were unavailable before I left your bit of ground so I wasn't able to wish you well. I wouldn't mind doing so now if you'll allow me."
----
Hope's phone rang. The other patrons of the hill top café were much more focused on the smoke on the horizon and the light show the hour previous. Some were wondering if this was the start of a war and if they should seek shelter or guidance. Many of them were on their own phones, but their connections were poor and the lines jammed.
Hope answered her phone. "Hello? Natasha speaking."
"Oh you silly goose!" said the voice on the other end. Hope was very much not a goose of course, but a cheetah.
"Hi Mable."
"Are you the one whom got me that card?"
Hope chuckled. "No, I got you the sponge cake, like you asked."
"Oh, good good. Well, when you get a chance, do be checking your box for a thank you letter."
"Alright, talk to you later Mable," said Hope.
"Yep! Good bye!"
Hope hung up and returned to gawking at the smoke that still rose from the horizon.
-----
The skunk's eyes seemed glazed over as twenty five monitors fed him data from across the room. A voice spoke in his ear, "Commander, an update on the situation. Our agent there reports that she was not responsible for the explosion, but the planned access point was indeed generated in their networks as ordered. Sim 2 reports that the most likely..."
"The most likely reason for the explosion is that some thing else got there first," said the skunk. Good. He thought Then blame is not on us for the destruction. I won't have to have Hope eliminated. This does push forward the plan a few steps. Reevaluation is necessary.

"Indeed. You may" he smiles softly before giving a slight bow. "May I ask the name of my guest?" he straightens up and giggles softly when his son gave a cute growling bark toward the dragon, seeming to already have an aggressive streak in him. "Cute ain't he?" he asks, holding up the light gold kit for the dragon to see. "Born today, and it still amazes me how he turned out!" The kit gave a few growls and grunts toward his father before nestling into his chest again, purring softly as he relaxed and fell back asleep again, seeming safe around his father. ----- Good... good. At least it went HALF their way. Zian shook his head and looked at the other two diplomats, who also shook their heads. "Salnai has no further issues" "Nor does Bulzia" "Yuna has no further issues"

The dragon turned his head slightly to reveal a blue tinted eye. "He's adorable. A seemingly born after a great nightmare for your people that I hope is not repeated. Or so I heard from the very upset nurses at the hospital before I convinced them it is probably to alright with your self check outs."
The dragon stepped down from the edge of the ship and onto the deck, turning a bit more. "I do not have a title these days, and I am thankful for it. So please, call me Izixs. And I am glad to see ye in good health star traveler."
