"Oh don't worry... the kits liked you, and they've got more power over the adults than they do over them" she smiled back at him and padded back to the tent with a soft chuckle. General IX"Well... okay. I guess I can tell one or two more stories as long as people don't start complaining about what I say." Which you know they will.No. They won't.

"Oh goodness! We've never had an accidental bonfire in centuries!"
Rick bounded up behind her, grinning as he flitted into tents, grabbing random items, metals, anything that held his interest, before tossing it away.
"Besides, we don't burn large fires close to the river anyway."

Aleb soon found his way to Tod whom seemed unset on what was next to be played.
"Excuse me, but I believe I might be able to do a tune if you are interested? But I don't wish to impose on the instrument's prime user."

Tisra entered the tent again and cleared her throat, explaining to everyone that he was not trying to impose religion upon anyone, and they should keep their mouths shut from now on. The adult that had bugged him before gave a bow of apology before motioning to the front for IX. "Come on, more stories!" "Yes! MORE!!" cries the kits, all of them seeming intent and happy to see and hear him again. Tod blinked at the new voice before nodding slightly and scooted off of the seat, carrying Alani with him before bowing to him. "It is yours, good sir" he smiled softly before stepping down off of the stage and taking a seat with a soft sigh, slipping Alani into his shirt pocket. "I suggest something cheerful" ----- Liska nodded a bit and eyed the strange wolfen for a moment, before coming to a stop at the edge of the river, already standing ankle deep in the cool water. "Good to know... though I am gonna have to ask about something about those..." she points at one of their patrol boats that was beached.

You should go with something more recent. Like those 50 wonderful years on the colony ship. That's not interesting. I was in cryo the whole time. How about that one night in Gracaria with the strippers and-We're talking to kids damn it. Okay fine. How about... hmm... do we have anything "cheerful"?Nope. Not really. Although they don't seem to mind fairy tales. Though I am hesitant to speak of religion. Then don't.Right. "Huh, I am having trouble thinking of a story." No, you're having trouble thinking of one that is realistic. Just tell something from Anean history and blow it up some. Make the people bigger than they really are."Nah, forget a story for now. "So, if you had questions or something, perhaps the right ones will end up with a story."

"I got one!" says Alison as she walked in, picking up Tisra in her arms and putting a blue collar around her neck, giving her a quick nuzzle before setting her back down and taking a seat in the back, looking at him with a soft hum. "Do you... well, have any scientific stories... more importantly about a desert planet?" she perks a brow toward him before proceeding to give almost all the kits white collars.
Kaila grinned a bit and giggled softly and stepped forward after getting her collar, looking up at IX as her single gem gleamed in the light. "Well... I have a suggestion, if he knows anything about the art of war..." she smirked and looked into his eyes. "Maybe a war story about... a desert world that exists in his territory? Maybe??"

General IXTalon perhaps? Have you ever fought on Talon IV?No, but I can say I did. I mean, how would they be able to say I didn't do something? "Scientific stories, no. Though, I do know of a desert planet in the Federation that I have fought on before. "It's a long drawn out story though and I really don't want to bore you with the details. Too much death and destruction anyway. "But why did you want to know about desert planets? I personally hate them. If I wanted to look at endless dunes of sand, I'd go to a beach."

"Well..." Alison giggled a bit and smiled softly to him. "It's a story from our culture... and we ask about desert worlds to see if we, can one day, find this world and see if the story is true"
The kits yipped out happily before one of them jumped out and pounced his foot, hir little tail flicking about in a happy manner. "Pleeeease? Tell us another story mister??"

Rick frowned at the patrol boats. They weren't supposed to be here now. Their timing was off... He walked up to the boats.
"Oi! What'r you doin here? Your schedule's not slotted for this part of the river for-"
"You will hold your tongue Ai'lupan."
The human who spoke was wearing the red and blue of the Accallian Royal Guard. Not good.
Not good at all.
"I'll hold my tongue when I know who would dare cut it off!"
"That would be me, civilian."
Rick froze.
No. It can't be. Not here.
From off the ramp of one of the boats stepped a tall human wearing a black uniform. It was covered in medals and gold buttons, epaulettes and tassels trailing down, and he wore a red sash across his chest. There were a pair of gold-framed spectacles tucked in his collar, and a bronze-handled sword at his belt, opposite of a gold-plated howdah gun. His boots were polished to a sheen, and he held his hat, also black, in his hand. A wolf's head in front of dragon wings, done in silver, was the symbol on the front.
The dark-haired, blue-eyed man looked at the Ai'lupan, grinning. His teeth were filed to sharp points, every last one of them, and Rick's eyes drifted down to the necklace of teeth around the man's neck.
Lord Commander Michael Stidham. The War Minister.
"Well? Anything more to say wolf?"

"Well..." Alison giggled a bit and smiled softly to him. "Pleeeease? Tell us another story mister??" General IX"Right, a story. Hmm. Well, here's something a little less... warlike I think. "Well, Anean history spans almost 8000 years. From the beginning to the end there has been countless lives lost. For resources. For land. For wealth. All of them good reasons back in the day. Though, many people look back on the past and scorn our history. "Two world wars, countless smaller ones, and even a planet devastating nuclear war were the highlights of the first 5000 years. In the last one thousand, since 5000 to 7000 is a dark age sort of. Rebuilding from the Nuclear War and such. "The last 1000 has been the defining millennium. One last world war, two Federation Wars, one galaxy destroying war. We saw wars on scales never before seen. Billions die in the blink of an eye now. Numbers that were once unfathomable are now very real. "I have lived in a relative age of peace. The last 140 years have been kind to me and the Empire with only one real war. That one scarred me. It made me realize that, at the end of the day, no matter what you have done, you are just human... well, that's in my case." I laughed a little. "I guess the proper term would be mortal... but... in my case that doesn't really apply. "Despite all the bad, I guess we are a very... resilient people. We have our great works of architectural prowess. Of musical and artistic prowess. And of course military prowess. I think that, after my long speech, I can tell about one of my favorite buildings in the Empire and the history behind it. "In the capital of the Empire, Gracaria, a city of massive 4 or more mile high towers that glisten in the sunlight, a city of over 11 billion people, a city that has been a symbol of Anean power since the birth of the City-State over 6500 years ago, there is a cathedral. A massive structure, but lost to time. "Today, it is a run down building in the outskirts of the city. The sign on the outside tells all to stay away and that it's government property. Naturally, as a former Senator, I don't care. I went in one night. Within, it's dusty and run down. Pews are overturned and I found a couple homeless people in there. "Well, I found a stone on one wall with the year of construction. 3523. I am surprised it last this long. I was surprised it wasn't restored. Anyway, I did some research on it. Back then, it was the largest and most famous cathedral on the continent. People from all over the Kingdom flocked there of course. The exterior was made of durable stone and such and the inside with only the strongest wood. "Even in 5000, it was an important building. That was when the basements were fitted with bomb shelters and stuff. The Second World War was imminent and we knew we needed it. "Now, this is where the story may or may not become unbelievable. One morning, the nation who everyone knew we'd be at war with soon bombed Gracaria. The air raid sirens were already going off and people were fleeing to the nearest shelter. "The city this cathedral was located in had a population of around 5,000 and the shelter could hold about 2,000. As the bombs fell, the shelter was packed. Bombs fell over the whole city. When it was over, the people left and looked around. Every single building was destroyed except the cathedral. "Though radar clearly showed them flying over and dropping bombs on the building, there wasn't any damage. Somehow, not a single person was killed. Why? Who knows and I am not going to speculate. Though I will say it was probably some really really good luck. "Though this story is thousands of years old, it is one of those stories told in war time to inspire. Now, I know none of you believe this, but the Empire is very religious. This is a story told to keep morale up. Let the soldiers know that the gods are watching over us. "Heh, that was all that came to mind." And how much did you make up?All of it.

"ATTACK!" shouts one of the kits before a gaggle of them came rushing out of the water, tackling Liska down and cuddling happily into her. "Yay! We got the sheppy!!" they all cheer and grin, some giggling and laughing, others starring at the new person that was on the boat ramp. Liska gacked out and fell into the water, on her back, before laughing and hugging a few of the children on top of her. "Now now... let momma up" she says, before sitting up and looking at the human as well. "And who would you be?" she asks, perking a brow toward him before something landed in the water with a loud splash. "And whoever threw that is gonna get a spanking!" she looks up and glares at a Lemur, who was setting up some sort of projector. The projector itself looked like a strange machinegun, and was at the top of the cliff the waterfall was flowing from. And at the back of it, of course, was a Ringtailed figure who was easily crawling along the face of the cliff like a spider on a wall. ----- The kits were silent as the story was told, only to cheer and whistle happily after it ended, those that could clapped, others rushed over and rubbed up against IX's leg. The adults were a bit iffy about the ending, but liked it nonetheless, moreso with Alison who was grinning happily to him. "Very amazing story, Sir!" she says, giggling a bit before headtilting. "Going to tell more, I hope?" Tisra smiled happily before looking at Alison. "Am I set up for tonights war?"

The man bowed, still grinning. One of the red and blue clad soldiers place a red cape about his shoulders as he continued to walk forward. Rick's knees were shaking as he tried not to whimper.
Among the three most powerful offices of the Confederacy, only two could find ways to make someone disappear. Only one could do it legally.
No one knows how this one gets away with it, but he does. Often.
They were supposed to send the Governor. Or a Consul. Not him!
The human put on the hat, and walked right past Rick as if he did not exist at all, turning instead to Liska.
"I? I am Lord Commander Michael Stidham. War Minister of Aatuylva. And, who might you be, to be playing in my river so nonchalantly as I pass?"

Plus I am kind of out of stories for now. I will probably be back later though." I headed out, again, just as my phone rang. I pulled it out and saw it was the Emperor. I just ignored it and put it back in my pocket. I don't feel like listening to him bitch. I walked over to the tent with my few soldiers and sat with them. I lit my last cigar. I will have to have another couple hundred brought from Haroma here soon.

"Liska Bmir, and what's so bad about playing hm?" she smiled slightly and ruffled a kit's hair before chuckling a bit. "Not like the water can be hurt by us..." "Yea!" one of the kits stuck hir tongue out at him before looking back up at Kael, wondering what exactly he was doing. ----- Tisra smiled softly before padding over to the tent that he was sitting in, looking up at him before sitting down under one of the tables with a soft sigh. "So, is your stay here enjoyable?" she asks, looking at the soldiers.

"Oh, it's not a question of the river being hurt. It's a question of those playing in it disrespecting it."
He brushed off the guards around him, walking up to Liska.
"Interesting name. I take it you are one of the outsiders from the stars?"
He took his spectacles out of his collar for a moment, looking at Liska through them.
"Awfully young to be shepherding all of these little ones around in a dangerous place, hm?"
