"A gunship eh? Wonderful! A knight of the skies! I've always wanted to meet a flyer...oh? Me? Oh, I'm no one important, though, if you must know my name, you can call me R'kolo, although most just call me Rick and be done with it."

General IX
I reached the front.
"Hmm... what to tell...
"Well, this one is about our first few years in space. Almost 900 years ago now I think. Anyway, we were allies with a nation that called themselves the Galactic Federation. Back then, they almost were. They dominated 80% of the galaxy and was intent on getting that last 20. They had probably millions of ships and billions of soldiers.
"One day they decided to invade us. Haroma, our homeworld, fell in hours followed by the rest of the 'Core Worlds'. The Emperor was captured. Within 2 months, they were pushed to a backwater planet called Narcissum IV. The Narcissum system was besieged for 20 years.
"Though, the story is about the unsung heroes of the war. The freedom fighters of the occupied planets, the Pro-Anean Federation sympathizers, and the prisoners.
"To start with the people, I will speak of Haroma. Even in the midst of occupation, the people remained steadfast in their devotion to the gods and the Empire. Guerrilla fighting won firefight after firefight against the Federation and crippled them at times. Of course, this brought punishment upon the people, but the Aneans never swayed in the face of danger or death.
"The sympathizers deserve credit as well. It was the people in the Federation calling for an end to the fighting against us that helped end the war. Because the Federation were throwing billions of soldiers at us and the Remnorans, another nation they were at war with. Families were being torn apart as the Federation ordered forced conscription.
"On to the prisoners. As I mentioned earlier, the Emperor was captured. Of course he remained as a symbol of inspiration to the people. He is, believe it or not, a god. The soldiers that he was imprisoned with were almost all from the elite forces. The Federation of course didn't know this. On Venak V, the Emperor incited a prison riot. Though the Federation news was controlled, they couldn't keep that from getting out.
"Anyway, despite the good things, the last commanders on Narcissum were about to surrender. After all, soldiers need to eat. Well, we suddenly got help from the Remnorans. We shared our resources and together pushed the Federation back.
"Another 5 years of war and we forced the Federation to call for peace. How did two small nations, on the verge of collapse, fight back a galaxy spanning empire? That's a good question. Some say it was just luck. Others say our gods intervened. I think that it was a combination of both, but that's not the point.
"Believe it or not, this long story had a moral. Basically it comes down to 'Even in the face of death and danger, if you believe in something, do not let it just fade away. Stand and fight. Don't let them take it from you. Make them pay for it.'
"Sorry," I laughed a little, "I am a career soldier. All I know is war, so that's the only subject I have to share."

"Knowing only war is to expected," said Aleb from just outside the tent. The medic was one of the few Tinisians to not gone home by this point. He was off rotation as it was and thus had opted to wander about, trying to get to know some of these strange new people. Like a number of others he was attracted by the piano playing. "History teaches that soldiers spend most their time being attached to conflict, or being readied for it, and if what is rumored is true General, then you've been a soldier a very very long time."
Aleb poked his head in and scanned the room. Quite the menagerie, he thought to himself. "Sorry for not introducing myself, I am Aleb, a Tinisian. Tis this being a party? And if so, can a tired healer crash it?"

General IX"Yes, a very long time indeed. But those 120 years of being a soldier feels like it went by in just a year. Granted, I was a Senator once. Still, to me, nothing compares to the thrill of battle. The adrenaline rush as artillery shells pound the ground around you. Even dropping from orbit just behind enemy lines with just a warhammer and a huge set of armor. "Anyway, I am going to stop rambling now unless people had questions."

The kits looked a bit amazed at the story, but the adults seemed a tad distasteful for it, especially at one title used for a person. "What's a God?" asks one of the kits as she stared up at IX, tilting her head to the right before meeping when a gentle hand came down upon her head. "Yeeees?" she asks, looking up at the older male.
"Gods are fairy tales used by cultures as an escape goat to merely say that 'this is an act of God', when personally, they are a joke..." says the older male, shaking his head slowly from side to side. "But that is the clashing of two cultures there... people that believe, and people that don't"
The male looked toward IX and perked a brow toward him. "I take it your culture is always super religious, no?"
Liska nodded a bit and smiled at the strange wolf creature. "Well, okay Rick" she chuckled softly and smiled to him before looking at the newest of the newcomers. "I guess it is, but by all means, crash away!"
Tod continued to play the song with Alani, keeping an ear perked toward the activity in the tent, hoping that nothing bad was about to start... he knew how some people got when religious beings were even mentioned around them... thus the marine corps was usually kept on a tight leash.

General IX"Well, we aren't super religious, but we do have a pantheon of gods and goddesses. Though I do want to note that speaking down of religion just because you haven't seen a god, doesn't mean they aren't real. "They aren't all just fairy tales. For example, as much as you won't believe it, our Emperor is a god. "But, to each their own. But to go around saying that they are fairy tales to use as an excuse then to say it's all a joke is wrong. I'm not religious, but I still have the respect for others that I don't speak down of beliefs in front of others. "Anyway, questions not pertaining to religion?" Since, if nothing else, people can't just say 'well that made a nice story' and keep religion out of it...

"It was a nice story, but as it stands, they're nothing BUT fairy tales" says Tod, stopping his playing before looking over at him. "Every culture we have encountered so far has fluffed them up to make them unbeatable, able to do everything, and so on... they're a joke and shouldn't be believed." he then turned back to his paino. "Do move on from the incident before it turns into something truly horrid... not many people can take this with a grain of salt"
Alani blinked a few times before headtilting a little. "Papa? Will he be beaten up for that?" he whined a little and looked back at IX
Tod blinked at the question, chuckling and petting the kit. "Not at all... maybe if he keeps pressing the issue..." he sighs, he didn't want today to end badly.

"So, tell me, fair rider of the winds, where is this spot you shall be taking us?"
Oh dear. Well. So they were those types. No sense getting into that argument. All Aatuylvans tend to just leave that conversation alone. After all, it's not our responsibility to save people from damnation, and it would infringe upon them.
The Ai'lupan shifted on his feet as he saw those with him moving to another area, trying to set up a dance around a fire away from everyone else.
"Perhaps we should be moving before those two in there kill each other, eh?"

I guess I will just head home now. Heh. Don't want to offend anyone's delicate sensibilities." Fools it seems. Not even slightly open minded. I let out a sigh as I headed for my soldiers again.

"Only person that would try to kill us is that Anean... we wouldn't do something as foolish as that... unless threatened" she shrugged a bit and walked out, noticing the area being set up. "Heh... what's that?"
Tod flicked an ear when he thought he heard something from the newcomers mind, shrugging it off and closing his eyes half way. "Probably because half the cultures we have encountered have been trying to push their religion down our throats..." he mutters, before Alani crawled up his arm and sat down on his shoulder.
"Papa? Howcome the storyteller left?"
"I don't know... maybe he feels squeamish" he began to play again, just randomly hitting keys now to pass the time until he got an idea of what to play next.
Tisra flicked her ears a bit and padded after IX, trying to catch him from walking away. "Hey! Mister!!"

"Please wait and at least hear me out..." she sighed softly and pinned her ears back. "We are kinda closed minded to Religion because people have rammed it down our throats so much... we hate it and thus, call it fairy tales... it's not your fault, or ours... just most of us don't really like it at all..."she shook her head. "Please come back if you feel up to it... just shrug off the bad minded comments, I will have a talk with the people and tell them to keep their opinions shut up" she turned to walk away, ears still pinned.

Rick grinned, running up to the other Ai'lupans.
"This? Oh, we're just setting up for a little 'ceremony', is all. I hope you don't mind. We didn't bring anything that would upset Accallians, weren't sure if you lot were open-minded or not."
They were preparing a variety of odd instruments, lyres, what looked like a large warped tree branch with several holes cut into it, several drums, stringed instruments, and a small bowl containing a black, viscous liquid that was placed on a metal stand, so that the fire would heat it like incense. Others were setting up makeshift tables out of materials from the forest or left by the Cal, setting bowls of fruit, food, and drinks, no doubt alcoholic in nature, on them.
"You see, it's not every day someone travels to us from the palace of the gods."

Though I think I will stick around the back and, in general, avoid everyone. Heh, I think I sowed the seeds for ANOTHER country to hate us."

"Oh don't worry... the kits liked you, and they've got more power over the adults than they do over them" she smiled back at him and padded back to the tent with a soft chuckle.
Liska perked a brow at the comment... so they worship the stars? typical... "I see, I see... well, you never know, I might just dance some..." she shook her head and started to head over to the banks of the river with a soft sigh. "Just don't burn down everything with it!"
