Observing the current instabilities of several member nations in this federation, and the horrible events of the past few years, we the many members of the Furry Federation here by create a federation foods market and limited free trade agreement for the purpose of reducing the suffering of citizens of our federation due to hunger and food born illness.
1. The Member Nations of the Furry Federation will recognize the need to bring an end to hunger and famine in our federation in order to increase the health and well being of our citizens and the citizens of our neighbors; and that good health throughout the Furry Federation makes our alliance stronger as a whole.
2. The Member Nations of the Furry Federation will work to wards the creation of a unified food commodity market. This common food market will be called the Federation Food Market.
3. The Member Nations of the Furry Federation will not place any excessive tariffs on the export of food, including but not limited to fruits, vegetables, grains, meat products derived from non-intelligent sources, cheeses, or breads. For the purposes of this resolution an excessive tariff is any tariff that equates to ten percent of the cost to produce the food in question.
4. The Member Nations of the Furry Federation will not ban the export of any food except when there exists shortages of the food in question in their own nation.
5. All food that is exported or imported between Member Nations of the Furry Federation are encouraged to have nation of origin labels. As of January 1st of 2006, all meat, bread, cheese, and processed foods will be required to have nation of origin and ingredient labeling. The cost of labeling may be covered by a tariff for the purpose of paying for national labeling efforts that may be greater than the previously established tariff limit but not to exceed fifteen percent of the final cost of the food with label. No other exceptions to the tariff limits are allowed.
6. All Member Nations of the Furry Federation are asked to improve food quality, food safety, food sanitation, and food education within their own boarders in order to strengthen their own citizenry as well as to share the benefits of their improved quality foods with the rest of the federation.
7. This resolution makes no rule, law, or requirement for regulation of imports in any Member Nation of the Furry Federation.
