Speices: Lemurs are the primary people (75%), with desert and tropical lizards occupying a sizable minority (20%) and most other anthros acting as the 'smaller' minority (5%). Humans aren't counted in the census [as of March 11, 2008].
Humans: Exists under special status (details in sociology)

Religions:
* Mesesejism: The Lemur populus was controlled by a vindictive human God called Zhen'Deg Fe Se. Zhen'Deg would sit on top of his floating platform, forcing the Lemurs to do her bidding while she payed special attention to the humans. Any lemur that would rebel would either be harmed or killed with her magic. Then one day, one lemur named Zhen'Mseneeretebel resisted. He was nearly killed, but somehow with stood the magic of Zhen'Deg Fe Se. He turned on the God and killed him dead. He then proclaimed that everyone should always be free, except humans ... which should never be fully trusted. Soon, the Kingdom of Lemurstan was established. While the people wanted to crown him King, he refused but appointed his friend and ally Zhen'Elle Dneerf as the new king. The government was established but soon the King became corrupt and oppressed his own people. An upset Zhen'Mseneeretebel struck down the King with the back of the kings own staff, killing him. He then suggested that an appointed oligarchy should lead the people. They to, oppressed the people. Zhen'Mseneeretebel sighed and stated that perhaps all people was corrupt by nature and created a set of rules for the Lemurians to follow (albeit half of them were lost to time). He then stated that "Until all people followed these rules, no one could truely be free. I will only return when our country is free." Ever since, Mesesejians have been trying to envoke his return through a 'free' government. Orthadox Mesesejians want to keep the humans oppressed while the Rellep-Mesesejians want them to be free as everyone else. These mostly similar sects would consistently lead to war.
* Syypygynysm: Mainly the religion of Lemuriania's reptilian population (though some Lemurs participate), Syypygynysm is be believe in three supreme beings. One of the Mind, one of the Body and one of the Soul. Theses "gods" are of everyone and of the individual. The average Syypygynysmite must learn to excel in one of theses in his life time in order to reach heaven. Of course, the monks realize that no one person can be the greatest and that's why most temples have 'Try until you die' etched into the walls and whispered on the lips of the followers.
* There is other religions as well, but most are too small to be noted.
Languages (Some information OOC):
* Lemurian: Basically English, but backwards and all vowels are replaced with the long E. "Good Day, my friendly furs!" becomes "Sref Yldneerf Em Yed Deeg!" Titles are attached to names. Zhen is basically male, Phen is female, Quhen is "gender undeterminible". Examples include Zhen'George Lucas, Phen'Nicole Kidman and Quhen'Janet Reno. Doctors and military have special prefixes added to their last name. Ced for Doctor and Reerew for a military man. Examples of this include Zhen'Dookie Ced'Hosser and General Zhen'George S. Reerew'Patton (rank is still kept before the first name until retired, then it's just the last name). [For convenience sake, if you want to call them Mr, Mrs, Dr w/o the stuff, you may.] Lemurian is the official language of the government and spoken by most of the populous.
* Syyroptylyyns: Again, English. The words remain forward, but all nouns start with "Syy". (if there's a plural noun, the s is added onto with an "os").. After which, the vowels are broke up and replaced with either 'o' or 'y' (both short and long form). A=Y E=O I=Y O=O U=Y Y=O or Y. "Excuse me, but could you pass the pizza snacks?" becomes "Oxcyso syymos, bot coyld syyooy pyss tho syypyzzys syynycksos?" All names, regardless of gender, is added onto with a 'Noy' at the end of the first name. So, Samuel L. Jackson becomes "Samuel'Noy L. Jackson"
Humans and the "Human Accords": They have an interesting place in Lemuryl's government. With the Orthadox Mesesejians fighting to oppress the human population (lasted numbers suggested that 2 million to 5 million humans lived in Lemuriania) while the Rellep-Mesesejians want to free them. This struggle has lead to various civil wars and political stand offs within the Nation. What rose from those ashes of conflict is the Human Accords. The rules go as followed:
* Humans have a special wage lower than the national min. wage. It is still livible, however.
* Humans can vote, but cannot hold any political office.
* Humans serve in the military as long as they have no access to weapons.
* No more than 20 humans are allowed to gather in a single spot yet they still can protest but only between the hours of 1-3 pm and 1 mile away from any government building. [This one is now defunct and humans can hold protests in all non-violent matters]
* Humans cannot adopt furry/scalie children, but furries/scalies can.
* Humans aren't allowed to drive cars but are allowed to take public transportation. [Defunct]
* Humans can live anywhere they desire but their house must always be mark as 'human'. [Defunct]
* Humans aren't allowed to operate or own firearms.
* Humans are allowed to prosue higher education, but only on their own dime. [Defunct]
These accords have been the subjects of both heated debates as well as a few wars, the most recent being 2006-2007's "Sound and Fury" war.
Government
Summary: The government has roughly "3" branches, the Executive Branch, the Legislative Branch, the Courts and the people of Lemuriania. Penultimate to all this is the "Rights, Rules and Responsiblities, as first established by Zhen'Mseneeretebel and adapted in 1815. 1901 saw a revision of these Rights, while 2006 and 2008 has made a more secular version based on these rules.

* These leaders are the result of either national-wide elections or 'mini-elections' that take place within a particular scope of interest. The Chief Director and the Sub-Ordinate Director are voted in by the people once every 5 years with the option to serve 20 years (four terms) via choice voting. Members of the Cabinet are elected by Parliament and approved by the Chief Director, with the option to contest by the people.

Modern History
1815-1889: The Rise of Industrialism: With the Trans-Racial War behind them and the new religion-less consitution established, the Kingdom of Lemurstan was ready to move on. During this period, came the rise of modern Capitalism. Industrialization was a big part of this, with Nexes and Hteemstrep becoming the centers for Industrialization in Furry. However, no everyone was prospering. While the elite lived in luxtury, the rest lived poverty. It was a time of unsteady ease between the classes. Strikes---while allowed to form---would almost always favor on the side of the elite, mainly with their ability to fire anyone that complains or replace them with the humans 'near-slaves'.
1890-1901: Eleven Years of Bloodshed - These troubled times eventually lead to a civil war, the second on in Lemurian history. This was roughly between four sides... Those who favored regulated Capitalism (the Tfet fe Retnec), those who favored 'laize faire' capitalism (Yenems), those who favored utter socialism (Ekstert) and later on, the Empire Party. For the first five years, the war seemed almost at a stand-still with no side progressing against the other. Then, the Empire Party rose to power. No one really knows the intentions of the Empire Party to this very day, but they had a vast amount of resources to use and superior technology. In two years, the other three sides was nearly defeated. With no other choice, the three-sides united and fought hard against the Empires, pushing them back! By 1901, the Empires had been defeated. On March the 15th of 1901, the Treaty of States was signed, allowing for the creation of the the Yemens, the Ekstert and the Tfel to form polticial parties and the creation of Democratic States of Lemuriania.
1902-1920: The Best and Worse of Time - Even with the new regulitory measures, things seemed to return to pre-war times. With big business still in the pockets of both the police and the government, not too many people was willing to enforce the rules of the Second Constituation.
