"Well, this is a good sign", said Pratzam, "You haven't shot at me yet.
Which is good, because of all the "allies" you have assembled here, we're one of the few who has never raised a claw at you.
And it's not about what I want. I want to know what you want. What do you want so badly that you're willing to make a deal with the devil, so to speak.
2 years ago, the Federation gleefully ravaged through your empire with reckless abandon. They destabilized your power structure and that lengthened the suffering.
And you know plenty about the Pudrians.
Emporer.
It's a bit hard to swallow."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Salato", Zippo said as he found the Calie delegation, "Please excuse Hcre, he had something to attend to, he will be back shortly.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hcre eye-twitched at the sight of the Teerie. But this was beside the point. There was work to be done.
"I suppose the primary focus of our analysis was the removal or the deactivation of hi-jacked nanites. In that: if the malignant operators could be removed from a host, then they would be able to snap out of the control or coma and then be able to regain function. Of course, if so desired, they could then replace those nanites with unaffected ones. In our project's case: it was removal by software extraction.
Anyway.
I'm hoping it's safe to assume that you've got whatever the low-level software issue with the nanites was fixed.
The extraction method used on Andertol was successful, but he's was basically totally Malych at the time. And the method is not particularly... low risk. You might even say it's a bit crude. For example, if someone needed the nanites to function, they would be without them for quite some time.
But it is something for now."

Tod nodded a bit before tapping his chin. "Well, the nanites are practically our blood... to completely remove the nanites would lead to fatal results unless you had something to replace it that wouldn't cause the body to go into a siezure" shi smiled and looked up at Hcre. "Our method was to merely update the nanites, better improvement, and to disable the telepathy signal that was the same with every other person"
The Teerie did sense the agitation, but kept quiet about it, figuring it was a culture issue.
"As for the software issue, it's fixed, the blackout did that" shi adds, wiping at one of hir eyes, looking at hir finger, only to see a red smear. "Dammit... don't cry!"

Hcre's attention towards the Teerie was broken by the blood coming from Tod's eye.
"Uhhhh...", he said, "Your eyes are bleeding..."

Tod nodded a bit before sniffling a bit, grabbing a hankerchief out of thin air, wiping the blood away. "Yes, I cry blood, instead of tears..." shi shuddered a bit before holding it out to Frederick. "I am afflicted with a virus that causes this, as are Frederick, and Tiana, it's not contagious unless... one of us bites you and breaks the skin"
Tiana giggled a bit. "And sometimes not even then! Depending on how fast you get the wound treated" she grins wide before looking at Tod. "Can I go play Master?"
Tod shook hir head slowly from side to side. "No dear, you gotta protect me... last thing I need is those Cali making me upset again" shi sighed a bit before waving the hankerchief. "Take it, I have no pockets" shi then smiled when he finally reacted. "Anyways, on the thing of extra security, I am thinking a signal jammer all across Aluez... it'd stop that frequency from getting to anyone that could still be at risk, wouldn't it?"

"Oh. Ok.", said Hcre, now content enough with the explanation for why the Teerie were so different, "Is this that...
Nevermind.
But yes. Signal jammer. We do know the frequency range of the devices, after all the antenna capacity of the nanite soup is only as large as the longest vein of the body it's in. That limits the frequency range considerably. But I think a combination of code cycling and a honey pot would prevent further breaches of security. The Honey pot would also be very useful in a political sense, since it would make Salnai's attack very obvious. It would also buy time for Alueza to act and push out new codes.
But the details of these needn't be discussed in such a public place. Of course."

General Nakhi Welhan "Alright, but when he comes out with a machine gun and guns everyone down, I'll be first to say 'I told you so'." With that, I walked off to the throne room. Emperor Isaiah Xaimoungkhoun "Yeah, I haven't shot at you yet because I don't have any guns on hand. And of all the people here, you are the ones I trust the least. I don't like robots. Not in the least. "What do I want? I want my empire back! Do you realize what it is like to have lost an entire galaxy? I was emperor for two weeks before people that were once allies turned on my and kicked me out of power. "In this weakened state, I am willing to make... and break... alliances. Just so I can get my home back. Just so I can see myself as a real emperor and not some wannabe ruler of a backwater country that everyone hates. "Maybe if you understood just what's going on with me then you'd realize why I am willing to make centuries old enemies friends, why I am willing to talk peace instead of war. "And obviously your information is wrong. For one, the War on my territory barely got past the first Rim Worlds before we pushed them back and annihilated them. Only at the end of the war, when we collapsed into civil war, did the empire get ravaged and, ultimately, collapse. "Sure, it's a bit hard to swallow, even for me, but I must make the hard choices as the emperor. This will probably be my most difficult. However, I am willing to give anything to bring my empire back." Finally, I got my robes on after putting extra bandages over the wound. I made them so I could do it myself with little to no help from the servants. When I walked out, in an attempt to lighten the mood, I asked, "Does this make my ass look big?" --- OOC: What IX'll be wearing more or less (except blue in place of red): Link

"Don't like robots? That's kinda petty, you know.
I'm not suggesting you start a war. I'm just checking to see if this is about The Empire, or if this is about You.", Pratzam asked.

Emperor Isaiah Xaimoungkhoun "Petty? Not when almost every robot I have seen has either tried to kill me... or rape me." I was silent for a moment. "You know what, forget I said that last part. "But this is about both me and the Empire? Why? Because I am the Empire. More or less. The people are important too, but I have to make all the decisions."

"Tormenting...sounds right..yes...daemons from the dark spaces, dark places...the Mother and the Hunter will get them one day..if not us, they will..."
He lays his head against the table, his hand tracing the engravings on his blade. He wrestled the beast that once held it. But he could not wrestle this one...
"First invites Pudrians...then Federation...then Cali.....how can be friends with man who is friends with so many of enemies? This...I do not know how long I can stand this. What your people do, in this kind of...situation?"

Pratzam clapped as IX turned away. "That's the spirit!"
With him heading downstairs, Pratzam said,
"Allison, I forgot to give the Good Emporer our present.".
A black, misty thing came out from the closet and said, "Oh leave the Emprah alone."
Pratzam replied, "Fine. For now.
Let's go meet the meat downstairs. It doesn't seem like the party is coming up here after all.
Shall we?".
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"We hide, and wait, then we strike once we figure them out.",said Sweizalthorpe, "Or we ally with their enemies...
Oh no...", he looked past Fujhin and saw a long, snake-like robot walk by with a nondescript black mist in tow.
"It looks like the Mother you speak of, already has some of her far flung friends on it already.
Don't say anything, I don't want them coming over here. They'll... touch me."

"I...see...and that is bad thing?" ------------------------------------------ "I see he invited the robots, too! Delightful! At least they have strong convictions..." Stidham took another swig from the flask he carried with him inside...he didn't trust anything, not with the Pudrians and the Cali so close by. Oh how he wanted to get his bullets back. He was willing to give the Cali a second chance. After all, all that was required was that the Red Serpents make a public apology, and that compensation for the families was given. But no. They're all like that despicable spy, and the so called 'noble', nay, 'royal'. There was nothing noble about her. Nothing at all. And if half the rumors about the Commonwealthers were true, not even her blood. "Tell me, Jhane, why'd you decide to apply for my guard anyway, hmm?" "It is my duty to defend my nation sir." "I see, I see..." Stidham looked again at the tall Havenite. He wasn't even bloody sure if it was male or female, they all looked alike...something about combat prosthetics ruining the body profile. Of course, the trenchcoat and gasmask didn't help a bit. All black and bronze, all the time. He couldn't recall when, if ever, the last time was anyone saw one of their faces. Hmph. His nation eh? Probably working for Dugald...no matter...------------------------------------ Oh goody!Information: It is confirmed. They are the presence we sensed during the Federation assault.Recommend full purging of this system to remove the taint.Yes! YES! Remove the dark ones! The shadow-monsters!Well if they left that much of a mark then they must be worth talking to.He smiled, his ringed hand stroking his beard as he surveyed the throne room, thinking on what to do. Our little brother has been spoiling himself...tsk, tsk.He pauses in thought, using one of the many facets of his, their, mind to commandeer one of the Pudrian drones he brought with him. Even as the drone was heading to the newcomers, he, himself, was returning to the dining room to poke the lesser-advanced machine. It was oh so much fun to watch them all squirm. "Greetings from the Harmony, fellow travelers, what brings you so far into the harsh wilderness, away from the comfort of civil space? We are apologetic that we do not know your proper names, as we have not ventured much into this galaxy before, but sense kindred spirits within you."The drone's voice was not monotone, but it was still...off. Anyone with a musical ear would note that it had perfect pitch, but the emotion in the voice was lacking, and the replacing of the eyes with sensors probably did not help much in that regard. Like the Prophet that he 'served', the drone was wearing silver ceremonial robes, similar to what a friar or monk would be wearing, covered in runes. His harmonic implant was far more obtrusive, covering a majority of his skull and down the back of his neck, indeed, he contained considerably more cybernetic augmentations than were visible on IX's doppleganger. His smile, like his voice, was too perfect for reality, and was more a baring of teeth. "It would please us to speak with you."OOC: Sorry for getting kinda schizo there, tired PudrIX is going to poke Swiezal and the drone is talking at Pratzam and Allison

Emperor Isaiah Xaimoungkhoun I began to walk down the stairs into the lower part of the main hall. I swear I have to stand out in these robes. And, as I expected, I tripped on the third step and rolled down the rest. Before anyone could notice, I jumped back up. I saw several groups of reporters at the main entrance. One was Imperial News Center, one was Federal Network, and one was The Colonial News. Excellent. I wouldn't doubt some Earth agencies are here too. Suddenly, the doors to the castle opened and someone walked in. Before I could get a good view, the person said, at the top of his lungs, "Former Emperor Welhan is in the house! Let's get this party started! WHOOOOOOO!" For the love of god someone kill me now.

Allison wafted around the drone and said, "I wasn't sure if you would even speak to us. I thought you might just ignore us for the duration of the evening.
We'd have to spend the whole evening staring at you, waiting for you to break something." She followed that with a weird grinding chuckle.
Pratzam said, "Yes it does seem that is a bit of a problem.
Breaking things."
"I don't like it when people pick my flowers.
Or shoot my rabbits.
I spent a lot of time making sure they can be wild and free."
Pratzam added, "I don't like it when people let bulls loose in my china cabinet. It tends to leave a lot of very sharp little pieces.
You needn't mind this galaxy. The situation is under control"

"Then how about we go somewhere more private?" asks Tod before looking at the door, only to facepalm and shake hir head slowly from side to side, jumping a bit when Lafi popped up beside hir. "Hello Lafi, we were just discussing the Nanite disaster"
"Oh excellent, I hope you two can come to some sort of resolution... but may I observe? I am leader of the country after all" she smiled a bit before bowing to Hcre. "I am Lafi Du'Biske, Archleader of Aluez"

Salato couldn't help smile a little at IX's discomfort, she nodded to him and raised a glass, before taking a drink. Al had managed to get a couple of bottles for the table and a few spare glasses.
She smiled "Zippo, nice to see a friendly face round here, they seem few and far a part. Have a drink. Join us, the red's quite palatable."
Al smiled "Yeah, few and far between. Any chance you could fill us in on the exact reason everyone up here seems to be avoiding us, well other than lyie's out burst.
I think she was playing to type for what they expect from us up here. That kind of thing usually gets people complaining to me."
He laughed "I remember that night the old lord leck went out in Amsterdam, I didn't just get the government on the phone but three coffee shops, one commune, the police, eighteen bars, three brothels and a doily supplier to calm down...I still don't know what the hell he did at the doily suppliers, in truth I didn't ask, there are somethings you don't want to know."
Before getting serious again "I dunno could you try and get some of them even talking to us, this is a private party after all?"
Salato smiled "No need to hurry, how are things with your lot, personally I mean?"
