The next phase closes later this week, and will include the results for various referenda and a few upper-house seats.
Most analysts are unsurprised by the results as the Biszlocsun party has started pulling voters away from the Libertarian party. Many libertarians had become alienated by some of the party's language during the election and Biszlocsun took advantage of this by working to portray the Libertarian party as a hypocritical "stealth-tax" party. Which evidently worked.
The Biszlocsun rampage through government seems to be continuing unchecked, however the party's next challenge is to address the tensions overseas.
Upper House Senator Morgan Tilje (Bsz) said that:
"Dealing with the ASE is a major issue within this party.
I'm going to stop before I say anything more."
However the Sd.Apptr Andertol has managed to turn ASE concerns into strengthened support for the party by highlighting many easily-sensationalizable areas of ideological discord.

Today we are faced with the presence of an alien empire on the brink of an AI rebellion.
A demonstration of the inadequacies of traditional politics.
Which is why the Biszlocsun party is the party of Now. With relevant policies and the pragmatism to get things done while others bicker.
Clearly an embellishment as there has been no evidence of an AI rebellion in the ASE. But if this is the kind of liberty being taken with stretching reality in our ads, then misinformation is beginning to take on the guise of science fiction.
However the Socialists are still trying to shake their image from 2 years ago when the party picked a fight with an unpredictable element and lost tremendously.
*Excerpt from advertisement*
"Four years ago Andertol and his Biszlocsun party tried to pass legislation that would make some religions illegal.
And this from the party which supposedly champions free speech?
Biszlocsun is too erratic. We need a liberal party that is true to a unified ideal."
And the Libertarians of course went back and forth with the Biszlocsun party.
*Excerpt from advertisement*
"The Biszlocsun party taxes everything. They tax your bank, they tax your car, they tax your income, they tax your house, they even tax your cigarettes and smokes. What won't they tax?
The Biszlocsun party: the Tax Party."
Which resulted in the swift flurry of counter attacks.
*Excerpt from advertisement*
"The libertarian party.
For the last 8 years, the libertarian party has voted for higher taxes on everything you buy and own. They attempted to create hundreds of new taxes designed to deceive you into paying more. And all this for less public services. So where does the money go?
It's simple really. It goes to them.
The Libertarian Party: The Scam Party.
Read the facts."
Biszlocsun's position was helped when several Libertarian Party affiliates were actually caught in their involvement in several Bank Subsidy Scams in 2008. In the public's eye, this elevated the attacks against them to truth.
Taking the opportunity to strike an additional hit against their rival, the Biszlocsun party continued a flurry of ads.
*Excerpt from advertisement*
"The Libertarian Party.
This is a misnomer. There is nothing libertarian about it.
3 prominent members caught participating in elaborate fraud. Siphoning-off government subsidies they voted for.
All while trying to crank up the taxes the rest of us have to pay.
There's nothing Libertarian about it.
The Biszlocsun party is a party of pragmatism, taking into consideration more than just a liberal or conservative approach.
Sd. Andertol's Biszlocsun reforms are the greatest steps towards legislative transparency in the history of the country. His reforms have prevented the unnecessary spending of billions and billions of Karats in tax revenue, while at the same time keeping public services intact and at their peak.
The Biszlocsun party is efficient government."
It would seem that the Biszlocsun party has taken advantage of some cultural tendencies unique to this electorate.
In particular, they have tuned in on the fine line between rationalism and sensationalism. In this electorate, sensationalism alone is opening up for attack. They need rationalism and details and they will seek it out. Biszlocsun's current success seems to be in providing all of these things and in the process, demonizing traditional politics.
However, their foreign policy has resulted in an odd combination of approval and distaste. In general, the process of committing military resources is highly conservative. Something which the electorate as a whole approves of strongly. Even moreso now with the ASE out there. There is a very strong isolationism going on now, and it seems that the Biszlocsun party managed to not find itself up against that. While the Socialists likely did.
However, let's look at some of the rising stars of the last election and how they fared.
Socialist Independent, Riza Strachan who was ahead of Vuela Konig for a short time during the General Election for Sec.Tajir (PM), is Tajir (governor) of Danaton. However her approval rating took a dive after a comment she made about Sec.Tajir Vuela Konig and her ethnospecies group:
"...That might be so if it weren't for, you know, the Dorfanese canids are all gay and weird..."
Andertol, who is not elected, but rather, appointed by the Apparateur, seems to have conditioned the electorate to get used to his saying incredibly weird things. This might be something Riza should do, if she isn't already.
Andertol has made saying bizarre things a staple of his political parlance, as evidenced by some of the ways he runs the legislature when he is presiding officer.
"I am a banana...
Ok, now that I have your attention. Debate of this item will commence according to these rules.
You must use mathematics to cross-examine this proposal. In base-3...
"You have no doubt by now noticed the 4 persons in odd red clothing near the base of the chamber. I'm sure you did not expect it. Which is understandable.
Since nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition..."
"I did read all 400 pages of that bill. Personally.
So I have taken the liberty of urinating upon one of the author's desks. Only one. But I will not tell you whom or which one it is."
"There will be no debate occurring today. Instead we will spend the session academically discussing literature. Specifically the onanistic ouvre of a famous pornographic director.
Today, we will be deconstructing doggy dicks.
I will be making notes on each one of you as we do this, then I will submit these to some select, unscrupulous publications in Cal."
"Go away. I'm not elected. I can rearrange the desks any way I please"

Andertol, Vuela and Qualt were all present at Vuela's office. There had started to be regular meetings like this since the Federation war had come to Earth, and they continued once it was over.
"Tinis had their election yesterday", Vuela said, "Union took back the Chamber."
"I don't think we or they are at the point yet where the ASE is effecting politics.", said Andertol, "Besides, the NPP spent two years in near-total deadlock, this plus their tendency to say things that make enemies in their electorate probably toasted their chances."
"It because they got there with this notion of 'shaking up the system'. But the problem was: the system actually works.
As evidenced.", said Qualt, "I don't think the ASE is going to have any effect on their politics, at least."
Andertol said,
"My main concern is Cal. Despite our differences, they were right about a lot of things.
They were right to not jump headlong into anything with them.
Although they certainly had a questionable way of introducing themselves..."
Vuela then made a motion of catching her punch and said "I'm still going to have to address that with the Duke at some point."
Andertol continued,
"But a major combat operation occurred in our airspace and before that even, there was that thing..."
He looked at Qualt for a moment.
Qualt said, "Dosh's project. Don't worry, it didn't work as fully intended and they know."
Andertol continued again,
"At this point, basically, even if we open everything up to them, no-one in the commercial sector is going to actually engage in a whole lot with them because of stability reasons.
Rodalaton EAC has already started backpedaling on their Axial implementation plans. They're not even on a contract with Astrapolis for the new air/space ports they are planning to put in.
Rodalaton EAC even went as far as to tell me that they would rather set up something with the Immanence before Astrapolis."
"Which isn't that bad of an idea.", said Qualt, "I know they're strange and different and all. But politically and ideologically, we have much more common ground.
I know, that sounds ridiculous, but hear me out.
In terms of values and ideology, we're somewhat compatible.
I think once we figure out a way to do business with them, we have every reason to maintain open ties.
It might also be a stabilizing factor which could make rebuilding trade ties with the ASE possible."
"That 'figuring out a way to do business' is a pretty big IF", said Vuela, "That's the kind of thing which could take ages."
"I don't think so. If there is something we both want, then there is a way to do business.", said Qualt, "And they do actually happen to have something we want."
"Well duh, so does the ASE, but that hasn't made that big of a difference", said Vuela.
"Yeah but with the ASE, their things come at an arbitrary cost and many of them aren't even practical for what we can implement.
Plus they're involved in so many wars that we have to consider the liability of being seen as an extension of them by their enemies. Which it seems there is no shortage of.
Plus there is something that the Immanence has which I... we want which the ASE also possibly has, but definetely won't be sharing and selling. Assuming they even have it. I don't know.", said Qualt.
"Integration.", said Andertol.
"Oh holy hell we're not going to discuss this", said Vuela.
"The Immanence has it. It really would have come in handy during that Pudrian thing that happened. Had it gone wrong.", said Qualt.
"The Immanence would have come in handy during that thing but they weren't here and didn't seem to notice too much.", said Andertol.
"What do you mean exactly by 'Integration'?", asked Vuela.
"I'm talking about if shit hits the fan too hard, we have a way of continuing to exist.", said Qualt, "If the Pudrians survived the HHB, and decide to come back at some point, we need to have something to hold over their heads.
Worst case scenario, if Earth get's glassed, we need to be alive in order to rectify that."
"We beat them before", said Vuela.
"No, we confused them and beat them back. We didn't beat them permanently.
Which is another thing: If we are actively involved with the Immanence, then they will come to our aid much faster.
Did you see what they did up there?", said Qualt.
"No, I didn't specifically see the air war.", said Vuela.
"You know what we found on the ground at the Broby site?", said Qualt, "Inside the ship, we found shadows burned onto the walls. This happened before the crash. Because there were also charred remains from the explosion. But the shadows burned onto the walls was from something else that the Coronan Fleet was doing.
If they can shoot something through that armor and flash-vaporize something like that. That is something I would like to have if the Pudrians, or any of ASE's other enemies, come back.
Aside from options to save ourselves."
