My nation's history has some implied interactions with other Earth Nations. (Dealings with Italy and the USSR. The Kuho being on some French and Spanish-colonized islands. Andertol's background story involving the US, etc...) However, these are mostly background items. But the main argument for vaguely assuming this is on Earth is because it offers more flexibility for explaining cultural influences. Because if we're absolutely not on Earth, then it makes it harder to explain things like: why anyone is using the Roman alphabet, or why we're using Arabic numerals, or why Mr. Frixmatagin drives a Renault Espace, or etc... I think that that keeping this vaguely an alternative Earth is the most flexible and simplest way to go with this, as it causes the least amount of effort to maintain, and provides a palate of existing, familiar and referrencible cultures and things to integrate if desired. BUT it also does not require us to make any changes to our nations. First : Being on another planet doesn't FORCE every single people to create every single things from the very beginning of time and space, every single Historical points, cultures, technologies and etc... from their a**, I mean Imagination... Harder to explain ? Why is that ? Humans can exist on other planets than Earth, you know, it's not impossible... Other planets can share a similar Cultural or Technological development path as Earth ? ...And due to the fact that we have Furries and a Pangea-type of Continent... We are a bit far from Earth, no ? Also... Doesn't ''Alternative Earth'' mean that it's similar to Earth, but with changes on the names and concepts of a few to many things... like names and technologies ? French people would be called, I don't know, Francos... Romans, Romulans ? Spaghetti, Spaguit ? But we have ''somewhat telepathic'' people, laser-techs and living AI robots ! Alternative Earth is just a fancy way to say that it's not Our Real Earth, but it shares some similarities... Like any other planets could too...Also being another planet could allow some interesting implications, like... Discovery of a planet with life in a nearby solar system ! If we rotate around a bigger planet (If people say that we are 12000 Miles large, like some sort of Moon, and not 24000 Miles), will we explore it ? And so on and so forth... See ? Me, I don't see any problems or anything that can't be replicated or adapted, in a way, on another planet... maybe close to Earth ? Maybe not...

I wonder... if people thought about this : (1) The difference between Earth / Alternative Earth... is just a matter of geography and some modifications in the Historical line... this may or may not include Genetic alterations. AND (2) The difference between Earth/Alternative Earth VS Another planet... aside from the previous points (see up)... is the localization of the Planet in the Universe and its interactions with other planets/moons/suns in the vicinity of its Solar System... Option #2 allows a better flexibility regarding any Historical, Geographical and Genetic fact/concept/idea that someone could think of... ALSO... being Another planet, somewhere else, doesn't mean that the ''say'' Planet hasn't undergo a similar development, relatively to Earth or Alt.Earth, while still being a different Planet. ...This mean that we can ''stumble across'' some strange neighbors OR some strangely familiar neighbors ...or that we can't have, like a portal, that would connect us to... Earth maybe ? ...which COULD explain our similarities with them...

(2)Kinda like how in the Star Trek universe (at least in the books, and in one episode of original) There's more than one planet Earth?...one of them didn't have life on it at all, and had the same continents, and the other had slightly different continents, and the Cold War ended....violently, but the flags and all were the same...that was a neat episode.

Humm.... Those are examples of a (1) ''Alternative Earth''... not a (2) ''New Planet, somewhere else in a -near or not- solar system''

..........you know..... the term ''Another'' planet... means that it's not the (even similar) physical manisfestation of EARTH, but an ENTIRELY different rock in space, somewhere else...
Like Mars... Venus... Planet X ?
-Earth #1 is Earth for real. -Earth #2 is not Earth #1 for real, but a copy placed at the place of Earth #1 with a few differences. -Planet XYZ is NOT Earth #1 OR Earth #2.

xP Well, I like any of the options really... Although, a portal to Earth would be really cool... ... it would mean that Cal's very lost tribe of Israel would be so utterly and unimaginably lost as to be hilarious though...

...So ? ...I guess now would be a good time like any to make a decision, about this sensible and eternal question ?
---What kind of Planet are we ?---
1) It's EARTH, nothing more.
2) It's an Alternative version of Earth, from another dimension? , since it's a replacement of the Real Earth.
3) It's simply Another Planet elsewhere in the Universe, probably near the Solar System, with maybe a portal toward Earth, so it would please everyone...
-Reaching a decision here might be a good thing, for everyone and for future new people...

I would say another planet, Gaia-Like (Earth-Like). After all, it would be a bit chaotic to be sharing a planet with species-proud humans (AKA IRL Humans). So I vote for the 3rd option!

furfed.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=302So... It seems that, from those who are still doing RPs here, as far as I know, we are 6 nations... We could have a ''form'' of ''general'' ''agreement'' ? Vote being, if I believe what I heard : #1 - (It's EARTH, nothing more.) : 1 Vote #2 - (It's an Alternative version of Earth, with an extra continent and a slightly different size, nothing really major, plus other species and techs, etc...) : 4 Vote ( EDIT) #3 - (Another Planet elsewhere) : 2 Vote Ok... Then this MAP : nova225.deviantart.com/#/d2qtxv4 ...if people want to, could be used as a ''GENERAL'' idea of what the complete world looks like ? Does this conclude this Epic and controversial debate on our World ? ...which name isn't clear right now, but we can guess it's Earth or Terra (other REAL name given to Earth)...

I guess so. Allows for referencing RL things and having a possible NPC threat of sorts. Also makes some backstories for people make sense still.
