Lady Drancan smiled "You are a busy person so I'll keep it quick.
You invest in the new city and get a nice shining building there.
When it is handed over you get to go to a nice party and get your flag up there with the rest. The fireworks people will do you one in the sky, unless you object to that kinda thing. It could be classified as burning your flag, as it would be made of burning stuff.
You can use the building in any but military manner, though a few honer guards would not be objected to. It can act as a way to keep businesses away from your nation proper, they want to sell you stuff send them there. Could be handy if you want certain trades to be low key. That and if you want the world to see the achievements of your nation, you can use it as an expiation space, most of the spires have living, working and leisure spaces, so your staff need never leave the building...if you wish.
Finally you get to screw over some of the worst capitalist scum known, we would move, but it would be more fun for everyone in the socialist in the north put the nails in their coffin.
It would not take much just one or two buildings, that are some what in-expensive at the moment.
Well that and bragging rights of saying you killed off about eighteen hedge funds."
She smiled "Believe me if you screw them over you will not make an enemy of the commonwealth, we can't stand the parasites either.".

Eric frowned for a bit, trying to understand.
"So...you have someone you are trying to, buy out, I'm wagering? I'm sure we could help...as for the buildings..there will be conflicts concerning building codes..most Aatuylvan businessmen aren't comfortable without bunkers and armed guards...perfectly at my expense, of course, so no worries. As for the question of 'military', many of our businesses, in the interests of protecting their assets from hijackers, have taken on paramilitary aspects, shouldn't be a problem, should it? Also, while I have no real say in this, the local churches would be interested in purchasing property for their needs as well."
He fiddled with his fingers a bit, thinking.
"Also..our vehicles wouldn't be a problem, would they? Most private owners around here have armored cars..."
This would take a good deal amount of paperwork...

Lady Drancan Smiled "Well we only have the city for fifty years, after hand over, but I think the moneyfurs decided to make it clear they were planning on staying a little longer. The standard spire is kinda difficult to pull down." Xine laughed interrupting "It would probably take them longer to take the place down than we took to put it up." Lady Drancan continued "Any way, the building are largely stone and the outer shell is not cladding. The inside can stand without the out the shell, but if they insist on bunkers, the large warehouse is pretty much nuke safe. It would cost more but I figure we could allow your spires to go all the way down.* I would have to talk to the city types." Xine smiled "Well as for driving in the city good luck it is not designed for it." Lady Drancan continued "If your people are that worried about the security there is no reason why they would need to leave there spire or spires as they are all designed to have accommodation, office space and retail leisure in the same building. Keeping a low profile is probably the safest thing they could do." Xine laughed "Well there are already people from races we have never seen before, it's going to be an interesting place that I have every intention of going to. Heck there's some hydes moved in up there, believe me you will not stand out." Lady Drancan said "I'll have the outline maps sent to you" --- OOC: the ignore RP, just take the stats. furfed.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=events&thread=176&page=1#2803

"We would need several warehouses then, as my people would not be able to trust foreign construction...I also will need to know of free areas, as the more profitable organizations would rather develop and construct their own buildings..hiring from local populations, of course. The main problem of course would be transportation. I may not feel as such, but many of my people, even the more enlightened ones, would look upon most of your vehicles with feelings ranging from disdain to outright terror at getting into something they don't know will protect them. Paranoid, I know, but several centuries of isolation and war breeds that into a nation."

Lady Drancan took on a resigned expression and looked at Xine "I would ask your leave."
In teerie* she said the Xine "These people are asking too much for such a piss ant paranoid mess. I can see why your people left, we can pick this up again when these people see sense."
Xine replied in teerie "But they might know?"
Lady Drancan shrugged "You have waited a few thousand years, she isn't going anywhere."
Xine went quiet.
Lady Drancan stood and said "We can not give you that. So unless you are willing to bend on this issue there is little purpose to us being here, is there?
We have bent as far as possible, it appears that was not enough.
Do not take it personally but there is little purpose on continuing this unless you will bend. Our cultures are obviously too far apart."
She sighed "May we take our leave?"

"Of course you can, but economic agreements are not the entirety of diplomacy. Anyone who believes that is a fool. We still have to work out certain other important things concerning events that transpired in the north. Certain codes and guidelines we must discuss, as well as rudimentary education programs to be set up for tourists or explorers in the event anyone should come to Aatuylva. By all means, however, if you wish to discuss trade concerning areas outside of your 'new city', then let us talk. As for bending, I am sorry, but our cultures are indeed too far apart. Now, as for setting up an embassy, I think we should discuss this first..."

Lady Drancan hid her smile, she had been in this game too long to show it, but aatuylva had bent.
"Very well, we have very few requirements other than the guarantee of safety from any nation we set up an embassy in for our diplomats an their staff.
We rarely have anything any more than honour guards, unless you wish us to provide our own defence?"
Xine hid her happiness less well.
Lady Drancan continued, noting Xine "If you could talk to your people of faith about the possibility of a tribe called the leefin having been round her some time in the distant past I think the leefin would be very interested to hear.
Well for obvious reason."

"Well, we have rooms cleared in the palace that could suit your needs, or, if you'd like to use a building, I'm sure we can clear out one of the older castles we're using for storage. Yes, you would have to bring your own military, unless you'd prefer local militias to guard it. I'm sure they'd be up to it, gives them something to do. As for faith, well, the name is familiar...I can arrange for you to meet with the Head Mistress of the Daughters of Sifus, and perhaps the Chapter Master of the Cult of Aatumrrcho..."

Lady Drancan smiled "Well one of your smaller castles would be fine, If you don't mind us adapting it to take defensive weapons. Our navy has a number of weapons that can saturate an area with high speed lead or if needs be crystalline bullets. The army has been dieing to deploying some of their more interesting drones and early warning systems.
That and if you don't mind us deploying a few pict VTOL fighter bombers. Well that and a couple of big guns."
She smiled "If we're attacked best tell us where your people are, otherwise it could be messy."
Xine smiled "I would be more than a little interested in meeting them!"

"Bigger guns would be prohibited, of course, as we are in the capital. As would anything capable of delivering tactical or strategic weapons. Tanks and such are fine, we have those in truckloads. However if you wish to have large-caliber weaponry, I can have them install it similar to our flak tower, with high-powered large caliber cannons."

Lady Drancan shrugged "Fair enough I doubt your towers could support what we had in mind. 23 inch naval guns. I doubt they would do the castle they were in many favours either.
But anyway, I was flying a kite there.
Anyway do you have a particular castle in mind? You will have to allow our defense people have a look at it to figure out exactly what kind of defensive weapons are needed."
Xine smiled "Well that and what modifications will be needed to make it a pleasant environment for us to do business."
Lady Drancan smiled "You know having my own castle..I might see if I can swing the job for my self."
She laughed a little.

"Madam, if I wanted to, I could have Stidham place one of the 600mm guns atop one of those towers. Or larger. In fact, history supports this when similar buildings in Germany withstood the soviet advance...as for the castle, like I said, one of the old ones. There's one on the edge of the city that used to be a watchtower before the outer wall was expanded, now it's used as an ammo bunker. Fairly standard I would think, six sides, stone, reinforced with modern materials. Most of the original art and decor was removed, unfortunately. Very few of the old castles have anything left in them but the foundations and outer walls anymore from the old days..I can have various furniture and tapestries sent over, of course. And all the amenities and necessities."

Lady Drancan smiled "Well if you don't mind us modifying the place, that will be fine. We will most likely re-enforce the walls. Well more likely build an internal citadel.
We would most likely furnish and decorate the citadel our self.
Do your people play rugby?"
Xine jumped in "Well the new city is being handed over soon and well it might give the peoples of the city a chance to mingle...well if any of your people are going to be there."

"Ma'am, I don't know what rugby is, and like I said, only careful businessmen would ever consider leaving. That or spies, but that's part of their job, now isn't it. Now, don't modify it too much, as it has already been modified extensively, and further modifications could harm it's structural integrity...now..I heard something about a temple you wanted to arrange travel to visit?"

Xine jumped in "Yes, It might be of massive importance of our people." very excitedly.
Lady Drancan looked worried, the last thing she needed was every religious nutter leefin heading this way. If that happened it would certainly not be pretty for anyone involved.
She smiled "It might be worth a look, but please can we keep it quiet as, well these kind of things can cause serious disruption to all concerned. Depending on what we find we may ask that you allow some of the sisterhood enter your nation to look it over."
