-Military-
Volunteer only? Y
Mandatory Service? N
Military strengths (list 3):
Mobile Armored Airships
Quality Information Warfare
Advanced Land Vehicle Design (Octagon 3 in one tank for instance)
Military weaknesses (list 3):
Mobile Armored Airships are easy targets
Tanks and related vehicles tend to be large (easy to hit) and not subtle (aka, loud and easy to track once you know what it is)
Overly zealous troops (to often get themselves killed for potentially small gains due to the type of people than join the Tinisian armed forces)
Nuclear weapons? Y
Biological weapons? N
Chemical weapons? N
Space based weapons? N* (technically Y, but until a law is changed they can not be deployed)
[Note: The use on Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, and Space based weaponry is as likely to draw the ire of every nation down upon you as it is in reality. These are things that are given -extreme- weight, can ruin hundreds of thousands of lives, and drastically affect the entire landscape for decades to come. -ALL- super weapons of -ANY- kind fall into the above, and will -ALWAYS- carry a consequence towards use]
-Technology-
Relative technology level- mid 21st century
Technological advantage (up to 2, must have moderator approval):
Pattern Defense System*
System Equation (given enough computing power, obscure or highly complex problems can be solved that might other wise be impossible, only practical in use for large national projects)
Technological disadvantage (minimum of 1):
In House Computer Tech (Tinisian built computers can't run almost any foreign computer programs and don't interface with other networks well)
Stolen Tech (Tinis makes use of technology that isn't wholly understood by the locals and thus is unable to advance very far in some areas)
Internet access: Good, mandatory in all new construction
Dominate Transportation Method: Trains (Cars are semi-common but busses more so)
Television access: Good
-Style-
Please write a little about your out of character desires for what kind of RPs you're interested in. Such as do you wish to keep on the national level, important people making big decisions, or more local, or stories about individual people whom just happen to live in your nation? Expound as much as you like as giving more detail will provide others with a sense of what you're up to for RPs.
I am interested in most sorts of RP. I'll probably be more specific later.
<will add more later>
-History-
What is your nations history?
Ancient Tinis (Before 0 CE)
<Will fill in more later>
~1000 BCE - First references appear about the Fen skunk tribes
781 BCE - Settlers from the east start moving into the southern coastal regions of what will become modern Tinis
638 BCE - First settlements in the north, mostly reaching the territory by sea
532-398 BCE - The Kingdom of Avem rules along the Ewenat river and serves mostly to settle the lands of northern Tin'sis and establish the first rule of law. The Kingdom is formed by settlement along the river outward from the city and castle at Yillow. The Kingdom of Avem eventually falls as the monarchs concentrate more and more on their home cities and less on their extended holdings.
378 BCE - The War of Hergtar sweeps through the north. Hergtar the Bloody attempts to take control of the lands north of the great forests, and is nearly successful. But as winter sets in, an alliance of rebels surrounds Hergtar's army and starves it. The after math of the war results in the creation of the domains and kingdoms of the north, mostly as a means for each region to prevent another War of Hergtar scenario. The establishment of these city states over the following decades quickly creates a system of establishment that would last for several hundred years.
341 BCE - Zazamu the Greedy unites the towns of the south and forms the Empire of Illista
318 BCE - The kings of Fen unite the largest of the Fen skunk tribes under a 'council of kings'
268 BCE - Calugian unites the old domains of Wwenat, Ocasa, and Atulat in a short war and forms the Calugian Empire
258-244 BCE - The war of the Vivova: Several local lords in Vivova and Scaza rebel against the high lords of Vivova and Scaza, the two largest of the old dominions. The result of the war is a shattering of Scaza and Vivova into the domains and the prince's lands (the princes being the most successful local lords during the war)
225 BCE - The Kingdoms of Tin and Tasmra conquer the Domaine of the Hasapa
216 BCE - A division appears between the Kingdom of Fen and the council of tribal kings there in, and the tribe of Vacrol. The tribe of Vacrol actively rejects the 'pacification that the kingdom brings' and seeks a xenophobic and violent existence.
206 BCE - The Sea Princes dethrone Emperor Od the Brutal. Emperor Od flees to the princes Shikem's lands, as they were still loyal and continues to rule there, but gives up all claims to the rest of the Empire of Illista
199 BCE - The Domaine of the Ilatviq falls to the Kingdom of Voches
163 BCE - The Fen skunk kings loose the ancient city of Forest [translated from another language] to the 'wild Vacrol tribe'
153 BCE - The Calugian Empire falls, breaking into the Kingdom of Desmes and the Kingdom of Orwalk (inherited by distant releatives of the empress)
114 BCE - The Domaine of Obazab is conquered by the Fen skunk kings
102 BCE - First known appearance of Glorvan
73 BCE - Through the marriages of Meglos II and Vilazartral, the kingdom of Tin'sis is formed along the northern coast
51 BCE - The principality of Yillow surrenders to Tin'sis to become the kingdom's vassals.
23 BCE - Tasmra and Voches invade Tin'sis and force king Meglos IV to flee
21 BCE - King Meglos IV returns to Tin'sis and expells the invaders with the help of an army of Fen skunks. In exchange for their help, the skunks are granted control of Yillow
5 BCE - Glorvan leaves Ancient Tinis with a group of pirates

79 CE - Queen Caru II attempts to assume control of Yillow but fails
82 CE - Queen Caru II attempts again to assume control of Yillow and is successful, but this results in the Fen skunks attacking the southern reaches of the kingdom as they had prospered greatly from the food produced in Yillow
103 CE - Syndi is overrun by Fen skunks prompting Queen Caru III to announce a vendetta followed by an invasion
108 CE - What is left of Queen Caru III's army flees south to the sea coast and encounter the princes of the sea whom take them in
110 CE - The war with the Fen skunks comes to a close with no clear winner. Animosity will remain for generations between Tinis and their immediate southern neighbors
139 CE - The former army of Caru III begins to have an effect on the customs and language of the southern coast as many of the former officers marry into the established elite families
143 CE - Contact between Tinis and the princes of the sea is made
189 CE - Reign of Prince Altzan I begins in Ogista
195 CE - The schism of Cerniv occurs, resulting in the five children of King Yat VII to each claim the throne after his abdication. Of course, King Yat VII is murdered shortly after abdication before he formally selects which of them was to be the heir as he had made it clear that he would make a selection and it would not fall to the eldest. The Kingdom of Tinis breaks into five mostly contiguous sections with a few towns holding true to the kingdom and the true heir, without picking which one is right. War erupts soon after the schism.
209 CE - Prince Un dies and his territory is quickly divided between his brothers and sisters, but his 'home' town opts for the neutral position

230 CE - Prince Altzan I is killed in battle
235 CE - The wars in the north and south end. The northern wars result in the descendants of the last king agreeing to be separate kingdoms. The wars in the south result in the establishment of a council of princes to govern the stretch of land on the northern lip of the sea
271 CE - The princes of the sea establish harsh inheritance rules. This begins to dwindle their number as heirless princes die and their land and territory becomes directly ruled by the council as a governed prefecture
299 CE - Queen Ocatalisah of Semita begins to rebuild her city after a massive tsunami destroyed it and also dug out a bit of the coast line near by forming a natural harbor
316 CE - New Semita is considered finished and quickly becomes a center of trade along the coast

470 CE - First outbreak of the Red Death sweeps through the prefectures and prince lands; also devastates the Fen skunks even further
476 CE - The Red Death strikes the Kingdom of Tinis and its neighbors, over 3/4 of the population is whipped out. Thousands flee east over the mountains or south east to the prefecture territories and Shikemes. Most Leefens leave Semita.
478 CE - The Red Death strikes the prefectures again, two princes survive the outbreak. They jointly announce a sealing of the boarder to the north. Construction of the the Villistra wall begins (also known as Comar's Wall). The forests are deemed to dangerous due to the wild inhabitants to merit much in the way of embargoing
480 CE - The last of the Fen skunk kings dies and the Ufat tribe which he had reigned over returns to its tribal structure
483 CE - The Red Death destroys the northern kingdoms entirely. Only the few principalities to the far west are left (outside of modern Tinis) and the entire area gains a stigma as a place of disease and death. This will keep outsiders out of northern Tinis for centuries with only the rare adventurer returning there
490 CE - The second to last prince of prefectures dies without heirs, leaving the entirety of the territory to Altzan XV to control directly. Altzan XV reorganizes the prefectures into what would become a perpetual bureaucracy.
531 CE - First Primisians settle in far eastern Tinis
568 CE - The Fen skunks attack prefectures in the first of a series of wars. In addition to the fear of the plague filled north, the presence of a 'savage species' further deters outsiders from traveling north
659 CE - The last Altzan princes dies, and the prefectures select an administrator to take over. Over time this administrator would become an elected for life position (starting in the 1300 CEs)

788 CE - Hamtira flees Prefectures to the north west where he establishes the barony of Hamtir
790 CE - Second reestablishment of the prefecture administration and the governorships are reinstated
883 CE - The great breaking: selection of a new administrator results in repeated hung votes and no one takes over. Eventually the various governors separate into factions and appoint their own administrator. This results in seven different territories representing the old Prefectures.
921 CE - The Shikem invasion of east prefectures. Everything east of Illista falls under their control
1029 CE - The Kintusk attacks

1514 CE - A Pargalonian outpost near modern Iktho is attacked by unknown persons and everyone is slaughtered in excessively gruesome fashions
1515 CE - When word about the killings reaches King Rastabar IV of Pargalo, the few outposts that have been set up are quickly abandoned on his orders with the exception of the harbor at Ekleson (it is reasoned that if the attackers are also on the island then they might have some chance at tracking them down if they attack)
1538-1573 CE - The Great Shuffle occurs in prefectures where allegiance to different administrators becomes very fluid
1573 CE - All but those under control by Shikem fall in line between Qu Va Tazal for administrator
1573-1590 CE - The Great Prefecture Wars begin with the main opponent being Shikem and their allies; the result of the war is a stalemate
1632 CE - The Kingdom of Asilia finally falls to the small army of Obrias (some 200 fighters after centuries of fighting); the Warlord of Obrias of course can't have the fighting ever end (as it would mean they no longer were needed) and thus they began to strike at Fen skunk enclaves further south and east
1699 CE - A Pargalonian colony is established at Emshronda
1703 CE - Shikem is invaded from the east and whole conquered, including their prefectural holdings

1750 CE - A Pargalonian colony is established at Eskgaraden, full colonization of the island is underway
1760 CE - Pargalonians discover the Lands of Obrias
1763 CE - The Warlord of Obrias is overthrown and a Pargalonian named Apom seizes power, making themselves the new Baroness
1779 CE - A new revolt in old Shikem territory and east prefectures again brings the wrath of a mighty army to bear; most prefecturians flee west or north, displacing some Fen skunk groups westward
1783 CE - Believing the extermination of the rebellion complete with the emptying of the towns of east prefect, the army leaves as they had begun another war elsewhere
1803 CE - The administrator of prefectures reorganizes the structure of the territory and it becomes The Republic of the Most Venerable Prefectures, and adopts an American style democracy
1828 CE - The first move by King Rollvox XII (also known as Rollvox the Great and Rollvox the Last) is to implement an increased settlement effort for Forr and to authorize a series of forts to be established on the mainland
1830 CE - The population of Forr passes 100,000
1835 CE - The territories of North Shimandu split off from Prefectures
1837 CE - The barony of Obrias swears allegiance to the kings and queens of Pargalo
1838 CE - Pargalonians encounter the Fen skunks for the first time (maybe) and the encounter results in deaths on both sides
1848 CE - Pargalo attacks the Fen skunks as they had begun raiding the forts in northern Tinis for food and 'wonders'. The attack results in most the Fen skunks being pushed out of the eastern forest regions

1880 CE - A formal northern boarder of Venerable Prefectures is negotiated with Pargalo, including an extension for east prefectures in the event the territory is resettled (at that time mostly impossible due to the low population of Prefectures)
1895 CE - A town is reestablished at the ruins of Yillow castle
1899 CE - The territory north of the northern forests is divided up by the Pargalonians into administrative zones, many of whom don't have any people living in them. Some of these demarcations will becomes the basis of the states of Tinis later
1900 CE - Pargalonian rebels found the city of Wuada. The population of Forr reaches 200,000
Early Modern Tinis (1900 CE - 1945 CE):
1903 CE - Pargalonians negotiate with the Fen Skunk tribes to end hostilities and to effectively make the tribes allies of the Kingdom of Pargalo.
1906 CE - Governor Hazas of the Venerable Prefectures warns her fellow governors of the real possibility of the Pargalonians seizing the mostly abandoned east Prefectures and Shikem.
1907 CE - Governor Hazas travels to the former Shikem lands and founds the city of Shik. The other governors rebuke Hazas and force a replacement election in her prefecture. Hazas responds by declaring herself governor of Shikem. Her allies whom helped settles Shik support her.
1909 CE - A brief power struggle in the north Shimandu region results in a benevolent dictator in control of Shimana.
1918 CE - The city of Pargalo is founded. It was almost named New Pargalo (as really it is) but those that settled it didn't want it to sound like a replacement of their homeland, more an extension.
1920 CE - Three governors of the Venerable Prefectures conspire to extend their prefectures to the east. When the plot is found out, the governors are forced out of office. One of the three, Gistatu, elects to make a claim anyway, and gathers up supporters and heads east.
1921 CE - The city of Gistatue is founded and the eastern prefectures in whole are claimed by ex-governor Gistatu's faction.
1924 CE - The death of the last king of Pargalo brings unrest in the colonies in Tinis. But this would pale in comparison to the chaos in the northern homeland. A huge wave of migration begins, one of the largest in all of history, were literally millions from the crowded frigid nation of Pargalo would travel the seas to Tinis for a new life free of the civil wars.
1925 CE - Gistatu appoints himself President (for life) of Gistatu Prefectures, and appoints his most important subordinates as governors of the territories sub units.
1926 CE - The city of Wuada, filled with disgruntled migrants from various places, but mostly Pargalo, and being 80% fox in population, is a crowded dirty city tucked in mountains and hills of the east. The city leaders figure something has to be done and thus write up a formal constitution establishing the Republic of Fox Refuge. The name of course is meant to attract even more foxes so that the leaders can continue to under appreciate the minorities. The PR doesn't really work.
1927 CE - First Pargalonian villages are set up in the Arx Zone, only a couple miles of what would later be known as 'The Arx Fields'.
1931 CE - Hoping to form a home land of sorts, a group of a thousand wolves settle near Shimana and create a de facto nation and a leadership council to keep things friendly between the peoples there in.
1932 CE - General Kizik seizes control in Pargalo. An attempt at such is made by his subordinate, Colonial Wevenosa, to do the same in Tinis but this ultimately fails as the locals resist strongly attempts to subvert the city and colonial governments. However, this does result in some important colonial governments (such as Matabia, New Pargalo, and Forr) being effectively destroyed as its leadership is taken prisoner back to Pargalo.
1934 CE - General Kizik is killed by an assassin. In quick order in Pargalo the House System is established to fill the power vacuum and to slow the fighting and unrest. The colonial governments in Tinis mostly ignore the house system but are happy to take in refugees whom fear that it will fail.
1937 CE - The Barony of Obrias declares neutrality in the struggles of the Pargalonians, but the Baron declares that which ever state is the rightful successor to the king and parliament of that nation shall get his support.
1940 CE - A sereis of settlements are created along the river through the Fen Skunk forests. Some of the locals opt to join the Pargalonians in them.
1943 CE - A new wave of migrants from Pargalo come to Forr. The cities there are literally overflowing with people in short order. Three of the Houses of Pargalo (1st, 4th, and 5th) establish chapter houses in the three cities of Forr.
1944 CE - The first five houses of Pargalo are expelled from their home land in total and they begin moving all of their people, materials, and remaining resources to Forr in order to reestablish themselves.
1945 CE - The city elders of the three cities of Forr demand that the five houses leave Forr. An arrangement is made to reestablish the five houses on the mainland. The city elders draw up five rough territories, one for each house, which they feel would be most welcoming to the peoples of the houses. For instance, the wolf centric first house was handed the territory between Shimana and Obrias, including the Wolf Nation, due to the number of their species already there. And the skunk lead 4th house naturally ended up in the middle of the Fen Skunk forests. Finally, the five houses agreed to different operating rules than were held in Pargalo. The central territories of each house could not be challenged for or wagered in a duel as had been done in Pargalo, but every where else could potentially be up for grabs provided the locals agreed to being subservient to a house. This of course only rarely happened. Instead the ritualistic duels would be more for resources then the land the resources came from. This was meant to prevent another disaster as had happened in Pargalo when the 6th and 7th houses controlled to much territory and thus were able to force the others out in a joint effort. As such, the agreement that was made was the foundations for a new nation of sorts...
Federation Era (1945 - 1960 CE)
1946 CE - The founders of the first two houses come to Forr after futile fights to try to regain control in Pargalo. Shortly there after, Toson of the 2nd house was murdered. Dykon fled to the 1st house territory.
1947 CE - The founder of the 5th house, Izixs, goes to the 5th house territories in eastern Tinis. Shortly there after a meeting of the house leaders is had in the city of Parglo [not the country! Very important!] and a more formal agreement is hashed out. However, in order several concessions to be made that would grant the 1st house de facto 'rights' to the mantle of Pargalo's legitimate government, and thus a claim over Obrias, Dykon had to step down from house leadership and go into exile, which he did.
1948 CE - Settlement of the main land has gone into over drive. New cities are popping up across the northern plains and even in the midst of the southern forests. The agreement between the houses goes into effect and the Federation of Tinis is formed. Eager to prevent the Pargalonians and the friends in the north from pushing into their territories, both Prefecturial governments recognize Tinis as a sovereign nation. This gives the new pesudo-nation great weight when dealing with outsiders.
1953 CE - The house leaders agree to create a senate for the non-house peoples of the federation. The first election for it is held.
1956 CE - Hookzas of the 3rd house manages to survive and even win an epic battle against 5th house leader Izixs. The battle nearly brings the 5th house to the point of starvation as the outcome was to determine which house got a large share of crops.
1958 CE - A challenge is made by the 3rd house for the mantle of Pargalo, held by the 1st house. Dizmrad Chamblak of the 1st house faced off against Epolcia Zirin for retention of the mantle and the vassalage of Obrias. Dizmrad is victorious in the great hall of Butin and the mantle is retained.
1959 CE - The senate of the federation, and 3rd house turn coat Vanessa West, calls Epolcia Zirin and Dizmrad Chamblak to their meeting hall in Pargalo (city) and it is explained that Zirin had bribed a number of the senators to side with the 3rd house in a matter concerning the mantle of Pargalo, if Zirin had been victorious. The matter would be on a question of the agreement that formed the federation that had ambiguous language that seemed to indicate that only the ruler of the 1st house could claim their house as the successor to Pargalo. Which is read one way would mean that whom ever held that title would be the ruler of the 1st house, even if they were a member of a different house!
The result was a fight, literally. A duel was had between Zirin and Dizmrad for Zirin to clear her name. She was again bested and out right killed by Dizmrad. Dizmrad declared the senate a sham and dissolved. The Civil War had begun.
A few weeks later, Dizmrad had mobilized not just the elite duelist fighters of the 1st house, but a conscripted army of those loyal to the house and marched on the 3rd house. They seized Matabia but before reaching Ultran they were attacked by hastily raised armies from the second and fourth houses. Dizmrad was repelled from the 3rd house territories and his army returned home while the 3rd house was picked apart by the other two houses.
Izixs of the 5th house calls the leaders of the houses together for one last attempt at settling the civil war. The 2nd house elects to send Vanessa West of the 3rd house as the 3rd house representative, as they believed they could control her. In the negotiations this quickly turned out not to be the case and she conspired with Dizmrad for a plan to liberate the 3rd house. The meeting fell apart and Dizmrad's army joined up with 3rd house resistance members in the early fall to liberate the 3rd house. The surprise appearance of an army spooked the other two houses enough that they fled. But soon they realized the force was smaller than they had thought it would be.
Dizmrad figured a blow against the 2nd and 3rd houses was needed. So the combined 1st and 3rd armies moved on the 2nd's territory but was repulsed. They turned south towards the 4th house with the 2nd house army in pursuit. At Arx Fields, they were caught between the returning 4th house army and the 2nd house army and the Battle of Arx was joined.
Almost an hour into the battle a new, but very small force appeared on the field of battle. While the houses were running around at this point with armies in the tens of thousands, equipped with mostly farm implements and a few guns, the new force was a group of 20 some elite 5th house warriors with the Pargalonian blades. By all logic the new comers should of been ignorable. Yet somehow over the course of a few hours every single soldier of the other 4 houses was either disarmed or incapacitated.
Izixs of the 5th house brought the leaders of the other houses together and laid down the law. The Federation of Tinis would be over. The houses dissolved and a democratic union put in place to govern all people of Tinis, house or none. The leaders were so frightened by the violence inflicted by the elite group from the usually isolationist 5th house that they agreed and were relieved that they were not to be made subjects of a Izixs led empire. All the same, Izixs would serve as interim 'First Speaker' until elections could be held. On the other side, Dizmrad would be acting Supreme Commander of the armies of Tinis, Wopta of the 4th house would be the interim Chief Justice of the Courts, and West, whom had figured out Zirin's plot to the detriment of her own house, would be the interim auditor.
The Federation of Tinis, the Union of Tinis would begin.
<will put more in later>
-Relations to other nations-
How does your government and people feel and interact with other nations?
The Union is a strong supporter of the Furry Federation in general, but the new government of Ovrin Lenord is less enthusiastic than the previous administration. Tinis is eager for allies and good relations with most nations, but sometimes causes unease in some nations due to their history of exporting workers to bring capital, information, and resources back home. The Union is working hard to counter these perceptions but the laws that encouraged it in the first place are still technically in effect (if modified).
-Give 3 interesting facts about your nation that gives it character:
1. The Union's old house allegiances still pop up in odd places such as sports teams and kids shows
2. All decades since the Union's creation have featured an attempt to impeach the First Speaker (so far, only ex-FS Izixs has been the target)
3. Managers almost always have the lowest standard of living while high risk construction workers have the highest.
*The new vision of the Pattern Defense System is a bit different then the previous incarnation, mostly in that its a lot more dangerous potentially. The basic effect of creating a perfect barrier is still the case, but unlike the previous version, it can only be 'tuned' to let gravity through. (any tuning for E&M would pretty much make the barrier passable and thus pointless) So communications with the outside are impossible. The new (known) negative effects are: the barrier appearing creates an x-ray flash which can cause illness and cancers to those near by, prolonged use of a PDS can result in 'time drift' between the inside and outside (time travels at a different rate inside compared to outside, and there's a small chance that after deactivation of the generator the barrier fails to vanish (aka they get stuck). So this makes use of the PDS a serious matter from here on out, aka, the nukes are on their way and its either it goes up or everyone dies. And then you don't know if its safe to bring it down as you don't know what's going on outside. Also, in the time drift scenario, the only way to know (before barrier removal) that there is time drift is in minor differences in the gravity experienced by those inside that grow larger the faster or slower the contents of the PDS drift from the normal time rate. So a dooms day scenario could be the barrier goes up, they can't take it down, and over several years the contents drift far from the normal time rate and thus either all of Tinis gets flattened under super strong gravitational fields or everything becomes nearly weightless. In such a case it would be a rush to figure out a solution...

-Style-
Please write a little about your out of character desires for what kind of RPs you're interested in.

-History-
What is your nations history?
Ancient Tinis (Before 0 CE)
<Will fill in more later>

1035 CE - Establishment of a neutral prefectural army among those free from Shikem control

1855 CE - The city of Matabia is established
1858 CE - The towns of Metista, Hadin, and Ultran are founded to act as a means to control any traffic on the major rivers of northern Tinis
1868 CE - Slavery is banned in Prefectures, not that it was big there anyway
1869 CE - Pargalonians reach Prefectures
1870 CE - North and South End forts are established as to provide an effective marking of the Pargalonian claim on the mostly empty territory of Tinis
