Fourier explains Miokalia's vote:
"At this time, regardless of what the federation intends to do with FFDF, our single and only goal for our involvement in this is disarmament. The extent of the involvement of our resources in this police action ends at the removal of weapons and removal of means to make them. Beyond that, perhaps heartless-sounding as it may be, we really could care less about rebuilding and installation of "democracy" up there.
To be absolutely frank, these people would be better off being annexed by Erenmor, who has the resources they need for survival, and also enough of a minimum level of sapient rights. While indeed they would loose self-determination, I think it's abundantly obvious...
...Apallingly obvious that their 'self-determination' is a threat to not only their own existence, as demonstrated by their 'self-determined' detonation of a nuclear bomb over their own people, but also the safety and security of everyone.
Surely it wasn't a democratic process. But the fact remains still that as a people they let it happen by not going against their authorities. They let it happen by picking up arms when their authorities told them to... and they let it happen by bravely discarding their existence upon better-trained and equipped military and for what?
So their authorities can continue to instill irrational fear into them with their witch-hunts, extreme xenophobia and unjustified executions?
The best, and most lasting thing we can do for these people is disarm them as much as possible. It's up to them to realize when enough is enough, and have their revolution and make some heads roll. We won't and can't do it for them."
