"How may I answer your questions?" asked Kojiro to the dragon on the other end.
"Greetings and salutations from the Union of Tinis. As I told your aid, I am First Speaker Izixs and I would like to say it is an honor to finally speak with the undisputed leadership of your nation."
Replied Kojiro, "I'm sure it is a pleasure. Many aren't granted the privilege. Please continue with your business; however, as I'm sure you have a reason for calling."
"I certainly do, and I'm quite glad you desire the point. The point is that you are no doubt aware that some nations are playing pool with your recently launch satellites. We are very curious as to why they would be doing such, and for what purpose this array was launched, especially in such a short time span."
"We suspect that the first shot was an accident, as intel reveals the target was initially something else. As for their purpose, they are a national defense system kept top secret and under wraps until now for national security purposes."
"All the same, its arrangement is rather suspect. A global system seems less a national defense and more a global reaching system with implications for the national defense of other nations." Izixs had not changed his tone of voice even with this.
Kojiro attempted address this concern. "That could be one of its perks. The threat could always be from outward as well as inward for the planet. Naturally close examination will reveal that the weapons can aim in any direction to knock out enemy projectiles."
Izixs laughed quietly, "Sorry to say such, but it doesn't seem to be working thus far. I'm guessing for stability the system has to be locked in some configuration then?"
Izixs was a little surprised when Kojiro answered. "Indeed. When initially planned, the satellites were to assume positions across the globe and magnetically lock in place. Currently we have a hole over Cal airspace that's being exploited by another country."
"Interesting. Well then would you be willing to share control of your system with other nations, probably one's not shooting it out of the sky of course, with whom desired such national security?"
"I would have to see what I could do... such a request of sharing this technology might concern those who have spent years developing it," said Kojiro.
Izixs paused top collect his thoughts. "Perhaps I didn't use the right tense there. But I mean you already have the system in place. I'm wondering if it could be possible for nations friendly to your own to use your system to defend themselves. There are many peaceful nations in the world who seek not to conquer and divide the spoils amongst their cronies, and these nations are sometimes attacked by those who do. Such an agreement wouldn't require sharing of tech, just sharing of command. So I'd hope then the researchers wouldn't be as upset about their secrets coming out as in such a deal they wouldn't be."
"Well... it's... mostly automatic based on following trajectories of enemy warheads," said Kojiro. "I could put in the word to increase protection codes for other nations. Currently Ixnill holds the lion's share of those with a certain... strategic number of neighbors included."
Izixs was caught a little off guard by the last statement. "I'm curious as to which neighbors you mean here. Are they members of the Furry Federation?"
"A few of them. Mainly we were uh... concerned with what could happen if a neighboring nation had been captured by the enemy to use against us and um... ways to prevent that from happening."
"Hmm... you seem a little on guard there. Did I touch a sore spot? Or am I just not hitting the dialect right?" Their native languages were similar, but Izixs knew enough of Ixnillian to be able to get by, but was obviously heavily accented.
"On guard? Oh... um... perhaps... but most of this is discussing national secrets. I can only state that allowing a neighbor fall into enemy hands would be very... bad for us. Ergo, their... protection was seen as a forethought."
"Alright," Izixs was nodding but of course the revolutionary on the other end couldn't see this. "Well there was the military action in Pargalo, but last I understood almost all foreign forces have left. But was the joint efforts there something that put you at unease? If it was, then I'd hope you know there's no need for such a thing to occur again. Not that I was really happy it had to happen in the first place."
"Oh... not at all. I simply want to ensure the safety of my people. Humans used us as slaves, you know." Izixs was well aware. A few different choices by people in distant land and it could of been Pargalo that had Ixnill's fate. "I just don't want that to happen again."
"Well I don't foresee that occurring again. Standing together under the banner of the Furry Federation we can quite easily stand up for each other against such invasions and attempts to subjugate good people again." Izixs was beginning to sound a little more chipper with the last part. But his tone changed once again to be a little more stern. "That is why I'm still excessively confused by the deployment of the grid. If your goals are to avoid being controlled by outsiders again, then wouldn't joint efforts with the federation be more sensical? Instead of this surprise move? I mean, the federation's council does have closed door meetings where such a system can be proposed and likely supported to protect all the furry federation. But... but this is highly suspicious. And as such, some nations have taken it as an act of aggression. I would like to know what can be done to ease tensions."
"I suppose communicating the uses of the w... the grid. I... could send Petria to a council if such a thing is required. They have nothing to fear from it, save the consequences of its destruction."
Izixs had caught the near slip of the tongue but opted to pretend he didn't. "Such would be appreciated. I mean, the council of the Furry Federation would be happy to put such a system under an international control system of some sort. Set it up so that it could protect Ixnill and all your neighbors, and the entire federation. For such security the nations of the federation could easily compensate your nation for all its hard work. From what I understand there is much devastation in your land. There are some nations whom have a habit of cleaning such up."
"Yeah... that would be welcome. A few brave souls have seen to try and remaster that destroyed wilderness. I'll... I'll send Petria then."
Izixs had not heard this envoy's name before. "Just to be sure though, will Petria have your full faith to act as your voice while with the council? As this is a sensitive matter I would just like to confirm that they will have full authority to make deals that you will be happy to honor."
"She is my Ambassador to the Federation. She wouldn't be if she did not have my voice," answered the revolutionary.
"Excellent, if I converse with other federation members then I'll make sure that you gave me such assurances. Some of them can be a little... jumpy..."
"So I've seen..." said Kojiro almost annoyed.
Izixs was happy some common ground had been established, even if it was shaky. "As you no doubt are, they are excessively concerned about their security. Its a dangerous world out there and they understand that rightly. But all the same, I wish they'd at least call before deploying the troops."
"Agreed. So... are we... done then? We have an agreement?"
"If by agreement you mean we mean we'll be discussing this shortly? Yes. I'll travel to Altzan personally for the talks and hope to meet Petria there. I'll pull strings to have your flight given priority at the airport there."
"Good. May the council go well then. Have a pleasant afternoon." Izixs sense something stilled in the way Kojiro said it.
"You as well. And I hope we can speak again," said Izixs being pleasant.
"Perhaps we will."
The line was disconnected. Izixs looked at Waldo and sighed. "Well, this is going to be annoying. Tell the foreign intell types that we are indeed dealing with a strong, smart, but a little unstable revolutionary. Very apt and defensive, and jumpier than they. But also make it clear that diffussion is possible if we play our cards right. And to not to anything dumb!"
Izixs hated to admit it but he was a little glad the Cali and Miokalians had decided to be rash with their pokes at the system. It created a delay, a delay that could be exploited to ensure these devices would not be used for nefarious purposes. And if his highest hopes came to pass, it might even result in hightened relevancy for the federation, which had seemed to of wane slightly with the issues of the day; the slavery in Lupinus, the growth of the SOTO power block, and the increased boldness of those across the seas.

Kojiro Hollenfeuer didn't like having that conversation at all. This situation had not developed to her liking. While many other areas of the Wargrid had their individual satellites magnetically locked, there was a hole over Cal that caused surrounding units to be "loose." Miokalia saw fit to have fun with that, making the hole ever so larger.
Now she had to send her Ambassador to the Federation to a council meeting in Altzan. There Petria would have to say her usual sweet things and agreements the Federation wanted to hear. Should it all go how Izixs hoped for it to go, she would not have complete control over Project Wargrid.
Quickly she pressed a few buttons at her communications panel, contacting the national defense control room. "Attention... I require a secondary program to be patched into the Wargrid. This program is to appear ready for the mutual use and safety of the entire Furry Federation. This program will by all means appear legitimate, as it will be. However, it should be ready for deactivation at any time I command, cutting off use outside Ixnill."
"Sounds like it will take a while to program and get right," replied an officer on the other end. "The algorithm will be complex."
"Of course it will, so start on it immediately," Kojiro snapped over the com. "And be sure to give the program a pleasing name, like 'Project Star Defense' or something." She closed the line and patched a call into Petria Eksion's office next. "Petria... you will be attending a Federation council in Altzan. Pack your bags. A complete list of your orders will be emailed to you during the flight."
"Umm... yes, Fearless Leader," the surprised diplomat replied over the com.
Kojiro closed the connection and steepled her paws. She had almost lost control over the situation, but with her cunning maneuvering, she was able to subvert any chance of complete failure. The Federation would think they would be safe under Wargrid, when she could revoke that safety at any time and establish her New World Order.

"So, Nathaniel, someone else has taken to setting up their own interceptor satellite grid?" Onyx commented, reviewing the situation in orbit from the point of view of Erenmor's own satellite grid.
"It would seem so. Review of the owner nation and probability calculations indicate it's highly likely it'll be used for offensive purposes, rather than defensive ones, at some point of its existence," Nathaniel replied calmly.
"Of course it will. It's curious though, how they're all reacting so harshly to this new grid, but didn't bat an eyelash when our own supposedly defensive grid crippled that submarine during the Cal civil war recently."
"Rational response is not their strong side, Overseer."
"True enough. And I doubt we can expect rational response on behalf of the owners of the new grid, in the long run. Cabal?"
"Yes, Overseer?" spoke up the AI administrator of the orbital Vigilance platform.
"Adjust our satellite positions. If... when these things are used as offensive weapons, I want our satellites to be able to clear the sky above Erenmor at a moment's notice. Relocate our grid to place the new satellites within their theoretical field of fire."
"As ordered," Cabal said briefly before returning to its tasks
"We should seek to have a presence during the upcoming Federation council meeting, Overseer," Nathaniel pointed out.
"Indeed. I should think Durand would do well in keeping an eye on things there, in addition to our diplomats already on site there. Durand?"
"No objections, Overseer. I'll prepare for the trip immediately."

"Remember the ODP devices we shared with Erenmor a long time ago", asked Blinn to Andertol.
"Yes, they were going to use them in an SDI-type of interceptor system. That's totally different than this. It's to prevent ICBMs from reaching their destination.", said Andertol
"CA has calculated it is likely the Erenmoren defensive system, could be used to move the entire grid off course.", said Blinn.
"Well as soon as this is finished I want them out of our airspace too, even if it is just missile-jammers. We don't put shit over their heads.", said Andertol.
"Agreed. There are two directions this could go: either we get this grid down and set a precedent that it's not okay to park weapons over other nations, or we escalate and soon everyone has their missiles over everyone else. Billions of dollars put into a system which could, likely, be very easily exploited by any single person who wants to vaporize this planet eight times over. This is a liability.", said Blinn.
"I haven't heard of much action from Tinis, it seems they aren't to concerned, probably because of the PDS.
Oh, I need to call Salato and let her know those Haxxar-VIes are going to be exiting coaxial over the bay, it's close to her territory and with all this satellite horseshit going on she probably doesn't need to be unnecessarily worried.", said Andertol picking up the phone.
President Phong was currently attempting to get a hold of the leadership in KZ, to inform them of what they probably already knew. Concerned at the delay in communication, he decided to also try to get this information to their military at least, through UNEX.
----
Corporal Tdapchey breifed his fleet and his personel on the matter at hand while they reached the end of the coaxial jump that would deposit them near the isle of Kolminaisus in the Bay of Inleef between Cal and Miokalia. He was in his field body, the 15 foot-long brown and blue mechanical t-rex loaded down with many guns and missiles and such.
"An organic dictatorship has attempted to hold a weapon over the heads of our siblings in Miokalia. As well as the KZ. No doubt with the intention of holding us, of superior intelligence under their irrational and fleshy thumb.
Our orders are to disable every satellite we happen to see, that is: to knock them out of orbit.
They will send their craft this way and our orders are to mercifully give them a chance to turn back and leave our airspace. If they refuse, our orders are to board them and take them as prisoners. If they resist boarding, then our orders are to eliminate them.
Upon jump exit over the Bay of Inleef, we will all switch onto TLX layer 4, turn off emotional response. R-class, fit yourselves with upper-atmospheric shielding. Two minutes till exit."
----
Andertol sat in the conference room with Blinn and Phong and waited for 24:00 (0:00 or zero-hundred hours in more local notation) to arrive. Cal's 'game of pool' was set to begin.
Joining in was the Cetacion-III sitting over Doblaron, armed with a large chunk of solid carbon waste, literally, a hard ball of ash, in the linear accelerator typically used to launch certain high-altitude aircraft. The target was the satellite over Eyla.
The district of Eyla, only recently ceded by popular appeal to Miokalia, was absolutely furious about the weapon being overhead. The many different species in the state expressed their individual opinions with their representation in the upperhouse in Zye city.
"We should kill them where they stand", said the gruff, six-legged apolytam representative of congressional sector 00A2 of Kabutrhoh district, "They have made a move against us with their cowardly weapons, and for that we should engage them in honorable combat and make wine from their blood! Yahk'r tulx og!"
Presiding officer of this session of the upper house, representative Peltier, an orange, somewhat boxy mechanical allosaurus looked unimpressed by the representative's passionate, and decidedly Klingon statement and said, "We're not trying to start a war, we're trying to prevent one. Representative Loish..."
Representative Loish, a female brown Obaarci allosaurus-like creature addressed the assembly, "Eyla considers the deployment of the weapons over our community an attempt to compromize the safety and security of the city. We want the satellites destroyed immediately."
"Representative Cxanhatka.", said Peltier.
Representative Cxanhatka of the mountainous 0B82 sector of the Eyla district, one of the somewhat unusual ice dragons from that area, an organic crystalline entity which happened to also be a dragon, addressed the council, "We consider this to be the staging of an act which could ethnically cleanse us out of existence, as the mountains of Eyla is the only place in the entire world where we exist. We must remove these weapons from our skies at once!"

At 01:50 Cal, an hour late, carried out it's promise, no less than fifteen missiles where launched each with a single projectile. Fifteen 500 kg projectiles struck there first targets and sent them into eccentric orbits. With in five minutes they struck other satellites...in ten minutes the souther hemisphere was clear...tinis did notice a few nifty shots though.
Most who saw it noted never to never play a Calie a pool.
The grid no longer existed below the equator as all the satellites fell into the southern ocean. In very near pattern, inside the blockage zone...who would have guest.

General Tieger Rakmos entered Kojiro Hollenfeuer's office chamber with his latest report. With a disciplined step, he came to her large desk and placed a stack of papers on its surface. His Fearless Leader lifted a brow at the stack then raised her eyes to the tiger. Her merely returned a stern, disciplined expression to the jaguar.
"Background checks reveal that Mr. Silas Talon immigrated into Ixnill several years ago, climbed the ranks of our military and joined the last stages of Project Wargrid," Tieger rattled off in a brief summary. "Crocanna Fleshrend, on the other hand has been an Ixnill citizen since before the Great Revolution. We have records of her slave status since birth under the human filth."
"So Talon is indeed an outsider and possible Epsilon Agent," Kojiro replied, rubbing her paws together. Then she gestured to the evidence that Silas Talon brought in of Crocanna's alleged coup detat plans. "He seemed quite too prepared as well. Any idea for this?"
"Standard spy tactic... place the blame on someone else who remains unassuming," Tieger stated flatly. "The fact that he came in too prepared and has too squeaky clean of a record sets alarms off, however."
Kojiro nodded, thinking thoughtfully. "Still, I think it would be a good idea to keep an eye on Crocanna just in case."
"Of course. It's only practical."
"Interrogate the Epsilon agent. Use the rack... full power."
"Yes, Fearless Leader," replied Tieger with a salute and then with a perfect pivot, left the chamber to give the order.

The second deployed scavenger ship with its fighter escort soared over Calie and Miokalian airspace to retrieve the first wayward satellite. Sensors revealed that more satellites were in the process of being bombarded from positions by Calie missiles.
"They're making the hole bigger," stated an officer scanning the readouts. "Should I open a channel with military command?"
"Do it," replied Captain Ziros, a stern-looking warthog, lounging in his command seat. The channel was up with the Ixnill war room. "This is Captain Ziros of the Scavenger ship Starscreamer, the Calie are attempting to knock out all of our satellites."
"We see it," replied an operater on the other hand. "You will not be able to handle every satellite they make wayward and weaken the magnetic lock further. Allow us to help out."
A second later, the satellites' anti-matter cannons flared to life and began firing off bolts of annihilative power towards the incoming projectiles. The Calie would attempt to knock out all the southern satellites, but they would not completely succeed.

Secretary of Defense, Zagckza picked up the phone to Salato and told her the next step in mind. "We're going to set up several micro mines in the upper atmospheric vicinity of the fallen objects in the blockade zone, and deploy a swarm of RM10s at lower altitude. So don't shoot at us, and stay away from the mines. I don't want those satellites picked up. The sea underneath is yours."
"More stuff is on the way from Malychedar. Premier Kyagga is expecting war, and has considered seeding the Ixnillan wasteland as a possible course of action should they militarily move against us.", said Blinn over teletext.
"Seeding the wasteland will poison the entire population. This may be viewed as an act of aggression against the Federation by an outside force. It will justify their excuse of 'can be used against extraterrestrial forces'.
Phong will not approve and most assuredly Andertol would disapprove.", said Zagckza.
"If they threaten us, or the dinosaurs, we have no choice. I will authorize Kyagga to do it.", said Blinn.
"This is ecoterrorism. We're talking about the release of radiation which would kill millions and likely poison others in the federation. Seeding is not an option.", said Zagckza.
"I'm not saying we are going to do it, for sure. I'm saying we may have to"
"NO. I'm saying we will not."
"Damn it Zagckza, even though your father was once organic his sentimental weakness carries over into you somehow. We have a lot to live for, we have a lot to protect. We have a purpose to protect from anything and everything. And you know what? Some millions of oppressed and miserable lives are not worth endangering the ability for everyone else on this planet to continue moving forward and for us to defeat entropy. If they have to die, then they should have fucking known better!", screamed Blinn.
Zagkza was silent. Partly in shock. "Turn your fucking emotions off, commander.", he said.
"You have no idea how unbeleivably frustrating it is, Zagckza. To know that we have to play along with some tinpot asshole somewhere and tolerate such a thing just to please a bunch of old Federation diplomats. Shooting down those satellites is just a small piece of what I wanted to do. But my emotion was off so I could just let the computer under me do the talking, and take into consideration the Federation's 'feelings'", he said feelings mockingly, "Fuck that, I say if you can't respect our rights to security in the first place, you deserve none! Seed them into a nuclear winter hellscape the minute anyone makes a move against what we are creating here!"
"Turn it off", yelled Zagckza sternly.
----
Two of Corporal Tdapchey's black Haxxar-VI ships encountered the Starscreamer and hailed them.
"Leave SOTO airspace now, or you will be boarded."
The Haxxar ships were armed with tactical nuclear weapons, as well as plenty-energized coaxial drive which could have some, very unusual tactical uses.

The Ixnill security personnel pulled the suspected spy, Silas Talon, into the interrogation room. A flat slab of metal with restraints was ready in the middle of the room. The officers brought him to the strange table and secured the iguana to it.
From the darkness, a large doberman approached. "Greetings spy. Do you have anything to say for yourself?"
"I am curious why you would bring me here, I am a Tinisien citizen," replied Silas, attempting to appear innocent. "I work under contract for you. It is all in the paperwork. I suspected something and now I am to blame."
"You are an Epsilon Agent!" barked the doberman. "You have drawn too much suspicion to yourself. Painted too perfect a picture for yourself. Tell me why your masters have sent you here."
"I have no master, no man does," answered the iguana. "Perfect? I was done last month for being drunk and incapable.... I am perfect? I would have thought you would know that...."
The doberman signaled one of his officers standing by a panel and a dial was turned. Great sparks of electricity erupted through the iguana's body from the metal slab.
"Everyone drinks. It is irrelevant that you were drunk last month. You moved through our ranks too quickly. Tell me why your masters have sent you here."
"Crocanna promoted me. I was her blue-eyed boy. Well that and the sex."
Another jolt of electricity erupted through the iguana from the rack.
"She promoted you only once, and that was half a year ago. You moved to that position too well. Studied the perfect chances to raise in power. Most immigrants get no higher than a rank of sergeant! Tell me why your masters have sent you here."
"I am here to make the best of my position, better than you fucking idiots that live here!" spat the pained reptile. "Your kind that spend years being plebs and can't handle the fact that others are better than you."
The doberman sneered at the iguana and another electric jolt passed through his body as the dial was turned again. A smell of cooking flesh filled the room.
"See fit to mock us, eh?" asked the doberman. "I want to know your orders from Phi. Tell them to me and you'll be spared the executioner's block."
"Do you think I fear death?" asked Mr. Talon, grimacing. "My wife and kids are dead, I wish to join them. I fear nothing now. I hope you sleep lightly."
"How noble. Everything fears death, Mr. Talon," retorted the doberman. Following that, his first officer played with the dial again and sent another maximum wave electricity through the iguana. "Okay... that's enough... he'll die if he suffers another," ordered the doberman to his subordinates. "Take him back to his cell. He's already confirmed enough by not answering our primary question."
The personnel moved to undo the restraints and lifted the sizzling iguana from the rack. Swiftly they carried him out of the room. The doberman merely looked after them and shook his head in disgust.
"Sleep lightly, sleep alone; your wife and kids might want to do that too," the iguana said before passing out.
The doberman merely smirked at the idle threat. He was a bachelor, he didn't have a wife and kids. The lights failed.

The Starscreamer's fighter escort moved into defensive positions around it, anti-ship missiles and particle cannons at the ready. Captain Ziros leaned forward in his seat, ready to take action in combat if it began. He radioed back the Miokalians.
"I apologize good sirs, but I cannot comply with that action," he said in a polite tone. "I have direct orders from my superiors to ensure this grid's components remain in position."
Just beneath both sides, the Wargrid satellites finished blasting the last of the Calie missiles from the sky. Only a number of four more satellites had been knocked out from orbit, far, far less than what the Kingdoms of Cal had desired.

Tdapchey silently commanded the operations crew of the ship to bring three of the coaxial units online. They knew what to do.
He replied to Captain Ziros, "De-energize your weapons and stand down. We are going to board you. Consider your options, Captain. If you are boarded, you may fail your mission, but as prisoners, you and your crew will be treated with dignity as according to our law, and will be released back home in a short time. If you fire upon us we will be forced to make sure that no one survives, captain. You have a responsibility to the safety of your crew. This is your last warning. De-energize weapons now, we are going to use a magnetic clamp to board your ship."
He motioned to the operations crew to activate the two drive units upon hull impact. The third had set the course for Kolminaisus Airforce Base.
Then he ordered the clamps to be lowered.
The second Haxxar ship began to do likewise with the foreign fighter.
----
Andertol received the notice of the foreign ships from Tdapchey and then sent a communication to the leadership in Ixnill. The first communication sent by an organic part of the leadership in Miokalia.
"If you order your ship, the Starscreamer to stand-down and abort it's mission, then we will return the crew to you immediately, unharmed.
If you engage the Malych ships then we will use deadly force to ensure the failure of the crews mission, and we will not take prisoners.
This aggression will not be tolerated. You have no right to have your military in our airspace without our permission."
----
The Cetacion-III vessel was at high altitude, merely a fraction of a mile away from one of the satellites over Eyla.
The linear accelerator which had repurposed as a massive cannon for the giant carbon ball inside began it's firing sequence. The system began to wind up the energy. Similar to the Calie method of cue-balling the satellites out of orbit, the carbon ball used here was four times the mass of the satellites, and relied on momentum to knock the satellites, not back toward the ground, but into space. The accelerator fired, the ball steadily increased in speed until emerging from the bay and striking the satellite. The satellite whizzed off at the calculated trajectory. And sent a single energy blast out, toward the ground, hitting the ground somewhere in Eyla. It didn't hit the city, as it was confirmed it hit wilderness. But the hit was observed by the crew of the Cetacion-III, and routed it's way to the CA in Zye.
Part of another plan being invented at the Universitat Dorigan.
A professor at the university, a tall brown lizard by the name of Dr. Lecithin Diiy, suggested that it might be wise to knock the satellites, instead of toward the planet, out into space, specifically aiming for an area of equal gravity between the planet, and other gravitational fields called a 'La Grange point'. The satellites would then become stuck there, and then with the use of a PDS system, perhaps, and a very powerful bomb, the satellites could be contained, and destroyed.
It would take longer to knock each one out of the sky, but the displacements would be much more permanent. As the satellites would be launched further away.
More carbon-waste cannonballs were being made and set up in the accelerator bays of Cetacion-III carriers for the purpose of knocking remaining satellites out, including those over Namaerat.

What had erupted so quickly had taken quite a while to reach the ears of the Representative Elect of Naraemat. As it turns out, turning off your cell phone at any point as the highest ranking politician in the country is not a good idea. Needless to say though, none of what's happened leaves a good taste in Marcellos mouth.
"Agian, sir, I'm very sorry we could not inform you sooner." said a black feathered femme. Marcello bowed his head to the attendant, "It was all my fault for not staying alert, so please do not apologize for what I've done."
He keeps his head lowered, leaning his elbows on his desk and resting his head on his paws. "So you say they're starting to FIRE at incoming projectiles?"
"Ye.. Yes Sir. At least that's what it looks like to us."
"This isn't good at all. If we could have acted sooner, we could have had our own hole to work out of. If we're going to be of any use taking it down, we need to take some down over our airspace. For now though, it will be best to put on the best outward face possible to these people, and buy us all the time we can to mobilize any counter measure we can scrounge up. Madame, set up a line to the rest of SOTO, I need to let them in on our position."
-=-=-=- -=Secure Line to Cal and Miokalia=-
"Greetings. I'm sorry to say I have only just become aware of the situation. I am sure we are unanimous in the opinion that we cannot let these satellites stay over our airspace. Unfortunately, we are neither as technologically advanced as Miokalia or our aggressor, or as lucky as to have the readiness and opportunity that Cal has had. However, we know that we can assist in their swift removal if we have clearance over our state. We are concerned that any effort we take prior to that will fail due to recent developments, and only serve to make us a better target. If the hole over the southern ocean can be extend over our state, we can begin to assist immediately."
"In addition, I'd like to propose use of our our nuclear arsenals on the satellites. Some people of mine are telling me that it should disrupt at least eight of the satellites magnetic hold, as well as fry their circuitry if they aren't blow to bits. We want to keep this option in reserve though, as consequences would be harsh. We'll only further consider doing so if you two are unanimous in their use, as stated in the treaty."

The Crown Branch was in an uproar, struggling to contact the House and put into motion the request permission for the use of force as quickly as possible.
Despite all the commotion, a clam yet smug looking Salinas was setting at his desk, his paws placed against each other as he leaned back in his chair. For some reason, his chair seemed much comfier to him than usual. Perhaps it was just the adrenaline building up as he patiently awaited to use his phone. Within a matter of seconds of obtaining permission, all rocketry forces will be mobilized (though they had already been given orders to be ready). All of the possibilities to come from this conflict raged in his head, and though most of them did not end well, he still smiled with a look of smug satisfaction in his comfy chair as the offices about him flowed with activity.

OOC: Just an FYI, there's more than one fighter. The plurals in words like "positions" are not typos.
IC:
"A bit unreasonable aren't they?" Captain Ziros cracked ironically. " 'Do this or die.' Like we're going to be any more willing to accept their offers with threats like that." He spoke into the re-opened com then. "Again I apologize, but this grid is for the safety of Ixnill. If I let it fall, I would be committing treason." He switched his communications to his escort of fighters. "Be ready to fire should they take hostile action."
Unbeknowest of the Miokalians, the anti-matter cannons were taking aim at their vessels. Should they begin their assault on the Starscreamer and its accompanying fighters, the satellites would open fire. Ixnill was determined to keep its project from crumbling any further.

Kojiro Hollenfeuer steamed at the message she received from Miokalia. Her control panel for Ixnill's thermonuclear warheads was open and at the ready. Angrily she typed back a message to the Miokalians.
Andertol of Miokalia:
I order that your nation cease and desist its hostile actions and threats. Ixnill has every right to defend itself from invasion in any way it has developed. This matter is being discussed at a Federation council as we exchange words, and I strongly suggest you comply until a resolution there has been reached. Any further premature actions of hostility will be seen as an act of war!
Have a pleasant day.
Sincerely, Kojiro Hollenfeuer Leader of the Revolution

President Aarabarth Gorh was pacing in his office. The fox was hunched over as he walked, continuously rubbing his muzzle and scratching his head, then shaking it, then uttering gibberish. He had received numerous communicates from Miokalia, and was frankly petrified by their contents. He also had another report on his desk from UNEX...
KZ had been aware of the satellites in orbit since their appearance on holographic scans of Kazian air space. And when a large number of orbiting craft appear over a very short period of time raises some very curious eyebrows. Scientists in the deep undergrounds of UNEX had been using very sophisticated techniques to generate a 3 dimensional model of the nearest orbital crafts. Employing lasers spread out over a 10-mile-on-edge triangle and military holography, over the course of 2 days, developed a very accurate model of the machines, down to the tiny dings on the rivets holding it together. This information, and the speculation behind what the satellites' purpose was, were sitting on Aarabarath's desk.
At the Port Mason space complex, a new GPS satellite launch of 21 satellites had been canceled, due to 'inclement weather' and a 'loss of the space launch window.' The seven rockets sat on their pads and were one by one taken down and placed back into the hangars. Sure, it was a little cloudy, and the press bought the story, but the launch was called for other reasons. Nobody really payed much attention to launches in Port Mason, as they happen every day. Service to the gate system, experiments, repairs on infrastructure happened all the time, and were scrubbed often enough anyway.
Aarabarath met with his top brass and decided against taking any action against the satellites. They had missiles, they had hackers, they had the means to disable the vehicles, but weren't going to instigate their creators any further than their allies in the south had. They had another plan.
Back north in Port Mason at hanger five... "Lower.. lower.. lower..." one wolf with a reflective vest and a hard hat on was saying to a crane operator via a handset. A clinking sound was heard as the curled up object locked into place. The wolf backed off and the hatch along the outside of the vessel was closed.
“This was the last, Hort. You can come down and grab a bite with me. We’ll hit up the pizza joint,” said the wolf into his radio. “Sounds good Tozi.” Tozi looked across the hanger at another crew loading up another satellite in another rocket.
The satellite was very strange looking. It had almost tripled in mass and was long at the ends and fat at the middle. Its solar cells remained, giving the space vehicle (SV) a sort of winged-dragon look.
“Hort, what the hell are these things? They look almost like zoids.” “I’m not really at liberty to talk about it.” The wolf looked at the fox with a serious grin. “No, I really can’t…. oh all right. But don’t say anything ok man?” “Yeah yeah bud, what’s up? The security here has been crazy for just a GPS satellite refit…” Hort leaned in close to Tozi and was talking in a very quiet voice. “These aren’t just the next generation of GPS… These are zoids.” “What??” “Yeah. They had us de-mass like 20 zoids and build a satellite around their main body.” “Cores too?” asked Tozi, looking very intrigued. “Well, yeah, they’re still alive. I mean, we could just as easily re-assemble their bodies--.” He was cut off mid sentence as one of their superiors waked by. Hort grew a bit more nervous. “I can’t really say much else Tozi, lets just get some pizza and forget about it.”
Back in Capital, the president was putting the finishing touches on his letter to Miokalia, explaining the launch that would follow the next day. He also forwarded the 3D models of the Ixnill space craft, to a number of friendly nations in the federation, including Tinis, Miokalia, Kingdoms of Cal, and Varro.
The last paragraph read, “In the interest of world mapping, the nation of Killer Zoids has developed unique GPS space vehicles which have been deployed in orbit around the planet. The 24 total vehicles shall be divided up amongst the 5 nations and Killer Zoids will relinquish all control over those vehicles given to your respective nations to analyze your terralogical features. We will be retaining 7 of these craft for our own similar use. If your nation does not wish to participate, you may forfeit possession of the crafts to the other nations. More information will follow. Access codes and keys will be given in a personal manner.
System for the protection and study of the worlds natural order, Capital City, August 8th, 2007. Sincerely, Aarabarth Gorh and the space council of Port Mason and AWood Powers.”
The next day, the ships, all 12 of them, each carrying 2 ‘new, experimental’ GPS space vehicles, were launched in succession over the course of the day. And each assumed a position relative to the positions of the vehicles in the grid, however, a far larger concentration of them were put into service on more northern orbits.

It was within minutes that Aarabarth Gorh got a reply from Tinis, direct from space forces head Ovrin Lenord. It read:
'Dear sir, if implications your message are correct, and unless furthur clarification are given as to present otherwise, I would be in violation of Tinisian law in accepting use of your GPS satallites. However, if full information as to the workings were presented that would demonstrate that I would not be in the violation of the law, the primarly laws in question being the Foreign Equipment Infilitration Act of 1987 and the Tinisian Space Weapon Restriction Rules of 1983, than I may be allowed to accept the use of the satellites. As you hopefully are aware, the first of those two laws was put in place to ensure computer hacking was not encouraged by linking Tinisian security systems with unknown hardware. The second law restricts the Union from the use or ownership of weaponry in space unless attacked by such weaponry first. Though I personally disagree with the second law, in this trying times it does have its wisdom.
-Your friend, Commander Ovrin Lenord'
Obviously Lenord may have read to much into the origional communicaiton, or perhaps he didn't and just wanted confirmation as to what was going on.

Message to all governments of the Furry Federation.
"Observing a clear and present danger to the Union of Tinis and the representatives of the federation whom we are required to protect as our national role as council chair to the federation council, we are activating presently the Pattern Defense System. This move is not intended to be an act of agression to any as we have made clear previously, and others have confirmed, it is a purly defensive device. Your representatives shall be out of communications for a maximum of three hours, but we hope to reestablish communication through the PDS barrier before that.
Thank you, Secretary of State, Union of Tinis"
A few minutes after this message was recieved by the nations of the Furry Federation, a reflective bubble appeared around and over the Union of Tinis, matching the boarders fairly well, but not perfectly, going into the sea off the northern and southern coasts of the country, and up many miles, reaching up and out of the atmosphere near the top. Several trains had been forced to hit the breaks and decouple a few cars to avoid being cut in half. A few birds slammed into the barrier that appeared before them, with the lucky ones bouncing off, and others breaking bones on the seemingly perfectly reflective surface. Several rivers suddenly ended at the barrier and quickly began flooding near the barrier, both inside and outside the PDS. Power line systems, carefully crafted to take the bisection by the PDS, were severed.
The Union of Tinis, was effectively, cut off from the rest of the Universe.

Sea lord Za entered salato's office and said "We didn't get many and we are running short of projectiles. I'm surprised they could hit them, we'll have to work on them some more, steath them up a bit or some thing."
"Thanks Za, how much is safe?" "Well Cal's main land is clear and emass, sae, uotrer but KIX still has a couple over it." Salato sighed. "I do have an idea, but I need your OK." Salato tilts her head and then asks curiously "How so?" "The nukes we still have the EMP they would put out would wreck the satellites systems, they would still be up there but inoperable." "Wouldn't that wreck everything up there?" "Well yeah but we have a window when we can kill the ones over K IX and neamat with out wiping out anything of importance. The met office won't be happy though" "Why?" "Well our projections have them loosing two sats, and it's not like we can warn them." "OK, you retarget the nukes and I'll give the order."
Za left the room, authorising an offensive nuclear strike was not simple, salato was on the phone to princess Lyie and Queen Lo. "I need to authorise the use of nukes....how do I do that?" Queen Lo replies "Beats me, I've never looked into it." Lyie replies "You need agreement from all of the kingdoms, one of the principalities and three of the baronies. I'll get onto is now, give me five minutes." "It's tough at the top isn't it" Queen lo says. "Yeah, there are days I wonder if this job is worth it." "At least you had a choice." "How many?" "I still have a grand niece, it comes with the position, she doesn't want it, I can't blame her to be honest." "Oh" "Yes, I know but I know why you are doing it. I don't want to live with a gun pointed at my people." Lyie was back on line "done, the trigger is yours." Salato looked at the case and opened it, she typed in he thirteen digit code she had memorised. The use of tactical nukes was now allowed, the Vengeance, End times and Armageddon, received there new targets and launch codes.
Time passed.
---- Sea knight Lancinia stood on the bridge of the Armageddon and gave the order "Hoover, make launch depth." A phrase he never though he would never utter. "Launch depth Aye" He took the key from round his neck on the red lit bridge, his X-O did the same and they both placed the keys into the locks. He noded and both him and his X-O turned the keys. A pannel lit up infront of him, he said "I am aurthorising the launch of tubes one through six"
"Fire one" he said pressing two buttons, his X-O did the same. The Tube's cover flipped open and the missile was fired from it's tube, the submarine juddered. "Missile one away" "Fire Two" he said pressing another two buttons..... This carried on up to missile six.
In all Cal launched eighteen missiles at the four satellites, two over K IX and Two over neamat. Though they were not aimed at a major city, this would go down in history as Cals first aggressive use of H-bombs.
---- A minute later neamat had two new stars visible in the blue day time sky as three of the h-bombs detonated round each satellite. Some of the missiles had been shot down, but there were simply too many to get them all. The hole in the grid now covered most of the southern ocean, though the satellites were still there the EMP had made them inoperable. They were dead in space, being hit by three simultaneous EM pulses does that.
--- Salato sent a message to Representative Elect of Naraemat, it read. "If you looked out of your window you might have noticed you had a new star or two in your sky for a little. Your satellite problem is gone and we would be very happy if you will aid us in the removal of the rest."
----
Off the coast of Ixnill the cruiser the HMS Jackdaw became visible for a few minutes before disappearing again as it restealthed. Cal sabre rattling continued.
