Malych Daleron Found Dead, Partially Dismembered Aetugetahl, Dincota
A Malych Daleron-Rex was found dead and defunct in a small town north of Aetugetahl at around noon today. Malychis has released the alpha-catch for the victim which at this time the RPA agency on Dincota which investigates crimes pertaining to reptiles (and reptile-like beings) has stated that they believe this to be a case of aggervated assault and not a hate crime. "There is evidence of a struggle, and we found both Malych oil as well as intoxiacted dragon blood on the scene. So we're pretty sure there was a mutual fight. Alpha catch will obviously be able to tell us what happened in those critical few minutes. We do not have any suspects yet, the blood found at the scene is still being examined and the DNA has been sent to a lab.", said the Aetugetahl police sheriff. The Malych was part of an urban tribe just north of the city. Along with a few other Malych located in the Parck Canq den. "It was very unexpected.", said one resident of the almost all-Malych den. "I remember installing that stinger device on him to protect against this kind of thing. I guess it didn't work well enough.", said an older one from across the driveway.
President Kohastar Reveals 'Aggressive' Energy Policy With the completion of another major Hydrogen Electrolytic Fuel Refinery in the port city of Gouhua, and the sharp increase in oil prices in the Federation, Kohastar pushes legislation that would push the limits of trade restrictions on Tdarocel energy exports.
"This is our opportunity to not just hurt, but literally disembowel the oil suppliers and their corrupt goverments in ways they never thought possible. With prices reaching 200 Karats a barrel (US $75), the introduction, and sudden large-scale availibility of 75 Karat-a-barrel electrolytic fuel would undercut the suppliers and give the entire Federation a much needed economic boost." said Department of Commerce chairperson, Utne Garrison (raptor). Oil prices have been dampening the stock markets of the Federation as of late, causing the loss of hundreds of millions of dollars for companies and investors per country. With the infrastructure for electrolytic fuels already in place, and most major car companies throughout the federation already putting vehicles capable of running on either conventional, or electrolytic fuels on the market, this may be the perfect time to make significant progress in the transition from oil to hydrogen. As it is right now, Miokalia is producing more electrolytic fuel than it needs, although it's primary export at this point has been to Dincota. There are plans to open up the markets of the Federation's major economic powers: Tinis, GBWT, and the Kingdoms of Cal soon. The electrolytic fuels are produced mostly through the massive electrolysis plants and refineries in Gouhua and New Decatur. The CEO of Darasouth (one of the major energy production companies running those plants), Taleri Hakyara simply told us, "It would be more ironic if I were running an oil company... because I'm a T-Rex... And as everyone knows, oil is our ancestors' rotten flesh, devoured and broiled into crude petroleum in the rocky belly of the planet...". He then stared out the window creepily for a while before continuing, "That is why I'll never touch the stuff.". He paused for a bit, being the eccentric character he is and then continued: "I mean imagine being buried, eaten and boiled... alive... by your own planet... turned into petrol right before your very eyes, man!". He then paused again, after making the situation very awkward for the skunk reporter before making a weird joke, "It's not a bad way to go if you've got the right person... if you know what I mean", he then laughed toothily.

Dorigan Times-Call
-Malych pressure government to make contact with other inorganic species in Erenmor. -Defense Contractor fined for 'poor security' in Northern Province theft. Daleron device reacquired from PED yesterday. -University of Dorigan considered to have the 'best architecture school in the world' by top academic publication.
New Smoking Laws Unpopular in the North
The divisive new Public Smoking Ban and Residential Smoking Bill was passed by the lower house yesterday the law will enact a nation-wide public smoking ban, (allowing for the exemptions of bars and certain smoking-based establishments will not be affected by the law). It will also force rental management companies to charge an extra 'Health and Quality' Tax to the rent bills of tenants who smoke indoors. The bill has sharply divided the humans from the Northern areas and basically everyone else. Statistically, humans smoke more tobacco and marajuana than any other ethnic group (35% of humans are smokers in Miokalia). Since in general, humans are the only ones who become so chemically addicted to tobacco (in particular) that the addiction actually over-powers the survival instinct to breath freely. (Only 5% of Dinosaurians are smokers. Nearly all of them are social marajuana smokers, as Nicotine is a mild neurotoxin to reptiles and also causes enimia. The bill was backed by several business groups as well as environmental and social advocacy organizations. Specifically, smoking bars and cannibis bakeries were in support of the bill. "Hey, if people have to pay an extra 50 kt a month just to smoke it their bathrooms, then they'll just spend more time here at my bar. That means more potential for income. I stand to gain from this.", said one Tirzah bar-owner. In protest, about 75 humans marched on Iekdato Street in Holyoke, all of them carrying as many burning cigarettes as possible and burning huge mounds of cheap tobacco in the street shouting chants against the bill. The Holyoke fire and police departments were quickly dispatched to put out the fires. The police arrested the demonstrators for vandalism and causing a health hazard. They were then promptly released in accordance with protest laws.
Immigration Hits Record Highs
Miokalia hasn't ever been known for its sheer quantities of unfilled jobs. It also hasn't been known to have industries crying for cheap labor. With the agriculture industry almost totally industrialized and modularized, there is no need for migrant workers, and if there were, the outcry from the far left would be deafening. However, there is one thing that makes the nation attractive to immigrants: The poor in Miokalia have a remarkably high standard of living when compared to the poor of most other countries. Logically, one would figure: if you're going to be poor, and you can't help it, then it's probably best to be poor somewhere where you can live decently. With education entirely subsidized by the government, the opportunity for advancement is much easier in Miokalia than countries where education is funded by tuition or run by the private sector. We interviewed one fox immigrant who is an architecture student at the University of Dorigan, who had this to say about his arrival in this country: "My family lived in squallor, in a delapidated hovel of a home. Then they increased the rent. We couldn't pay so they threw us out, sold our possesions, and burned what couldn't be sold. My father had been laid off from the farm because he became ill from the pesticides they were using. He couldn't read the warning labels on the canisters because he couldn't afford school. We came to Miokalia aboard a shipping container, at the time, I remember hearing about how they would make these into houses in Miokalia. So I thought we were going to live in it once we got there! Anyway, we arrived with a few other families from other impoverished places, some of them not actually very impoverished countries, but the people were all depressed by poverty. Now my father is being treated with some of the best healthcare in the world. My family lives in a sanitary, safe home. And even though we are dirt poor, I can attend a good college. There is actually a future here, a real life here for people of lower income"
The government hasn't poised themselves to directly begin enforcing immigration controls, although all immigrants who show up on the shores are put through rigorous health inspections. There is a concern that a large influx of immigrants will cause too much stress for the services that run these programs. The government's official stance on this is to 'go after the root of the problem' which basically means pressuring foreign governments of immigrant-supplying nations to 'shape up'.

From the Teuie Wire. Unified Election Results Are Confirmed, Salato Will Be PM.
With the election results now all in it has become clear that no single party has a majority, or anything approaching one. Of the nine hundred and twenty three seats in the chamber of the common man no party has managed to get anything close to the four hundred and seventeen required to achieve an overall majority.
The largest party will be the United Liberal Party with three hundred and forty two seats, followed by the Socialists with two hundred and seven. The surprise brake away of the Libertarians Party from the Conservative Party has resulted in a claps in the Conservative vote leaving them with there worst showing in any election that they have stood in, losing what should have been safe seats, at barely seventy seats, trailing their Libertarian brake away faction who have one hundred and seventy five seats. The other big winners on the night have been the Freedom Party with some seventy seats, including a number in Sae, Drew and the baronies which are not their usual territory. The rest of the seat have been taken by independents.
This result means that even with the coalition between the Freedom Party and the United Liberal party formed they fall some five seats short of a majority. However it has been noted that on many issues they have allot of common ground with either the Socialists or the Libertarians and both have indicated that they will not be adverse to voting with the government. What has also been noted is that a number of independent MPs have very similar views to the Salato's Liberals and only five need vote with them to pass a bill though the lower house.
Importantly the Socialists and the Libertarians are at loggerheads on so many issues that they will not be able to form a coalition and even then they would fall short of a majority. The Conservative would certainly not be welcome to join them and are likely to be viewed as electoral poison. As the position stands Eye Salato en will be the first PM of the Kingdoms of Cal with out a doubt as many of the independents have already stated that they will vote for her.
The most interesting part of this campaign has been how the peoples who have no experience of democracy have voted. The baronies where expected not to vote on party lines, but most of the gains for the Freedom Party came from the baronies, so this has simply not happened. If anything the number of independent MPs is far lower than what was expected from polls. Most of this can be put down to a very focused campaign from the Freedom party.
The Libertarians have now become the party with the largest area of land with in their seats as they have taken all of the dessert seats in drew. They have also proved to be a serious power in the highly populated seats of Tel taken two thirds of the seats there. They have also taken a good number in Sae and the populous Rew region of Drew , but they have failed to get a toe hold in Teu or Teer, the liberal heart lands.
The upper house elections have fallen on similar lines with the liberals and freedom parties being short of control.

Centralis Speaker - Science Edition
Unusual Equation Nearing Completion
The so-called 'System Equation' is rumored to be almost solved. This complex mathematical expression was rumored to have been developed by Genius of Pargalo shortly before her death but some attribute the expression to older sources. The equation's primary claim to fame however is its intense use by various workers councils and government agencies to formulate distribution and production plans. Stalwalt believers in the power of the equation claim that it might lead to a utopian society while its detractors cite problems with several invocations of the system equation's partial solutions. The detractors also argue that a utopian society is inherently unfree as all of its members are trapped in equilibrium near their respective stations in life.
The system equation has also been put to use in scientific endeavors. The latest generation in Tinisian computer networking protocols is rumored to have been made possible by the 4th to last term in the solution reaching 90% completion. But it is unknown what a full solution may bring on this front.
Many universities and government labs across the country have been working on this problem for decades after the success of the first few partial solutions. Over the last five years however, the solutions have become more and more difficult to compute, thus requiring more computer power. The final terms is believed to be between six months and two years off, however, an approximate value may be available for testing in a month.
Beyond the morality of using the solution of the system equation, there is also debate about making the solution publicly available. Some fear that rogue states and powerful criminal groups may be able to apply the solution to create powerful new technologies. Altruists however argue that none of the applications of the equation have yet been directly applicable to offensive or destructive means.
The system equation supposedly represents the equation of state of an arbitrary system in an infinite space with unknown external constraints with the exception of several 'foundation axioms' that serve to represent the constraints brought on by any system existing, or potentially existing, in a real world. The solutions are pulled out of this unusual mix by restructuring the equation so that the number of foundation axioms is reduced to zero. There were originally several thousand foundation axioms but a few months ago the number had been reduced to one. That axiom being a statement required for the existence of the idea of counting.
Professor Grange Becomes Head of the Arx Academy
Probably the most prestigious academic position in all of Tinis, Humble Director of Knowledge at the National Academy of Knowledge at Arx, has been filled by the well known professor of Geology, Professor Illiota Grange. Grange was nominated by the school's official search committee along with five others last year and was yesterday approved by the full faculty senate with a vote of 183 to 144.
Grange started her career as one of the first professors of the Academy in 1970. Some of her more well known research endeavors have been the study of the plate tectonics of the Furry continent, cataloging the development of the Sea of Prefectures and the corresponding destruction of the 'Altzan Range' that once existed in the northern third of the sea, studies of the only active volcano in Tinis, Mt. Crazira, and her recent work on the stability of the bed rock beneath Arx.
Grange said of the news of learning of the vote, "I feel honored that the faculty senate would select me to be their administrator. But I also feel that the other candidates were much more qualified than I, and am thus mystified by the generous margin of which I was selected. But either way, thank you."
Grange says she will continue her current research, studying micro faults near Matabia and Prismwind caused by the two nuclear detonations in recent times.

Scheduled Energy Talks Push Markets Through Roof A scheduled energy meeting between Miokalia's Energy Commission and Tinisian Leadership gives markets a jump in anticipation of peak-oil avoidance
The ZCSE market closed yesterday with substantially greater volume and an average jump of 150 points. The largest jump in the last 5 years. This was brought about by the news that Tinis does have plans to use some of the Miokalian Tdarocel Stockpile in the near future in the conversion to renewable energy. This has resulted in a feeling of increased releif from the fear that peak-oil speculation will drive the price of crude oil up so high, it would collapse some of the economies of the Federation. Which in turn would drag down even the economies of nations not dependent on oil, like Miokalia and Erenmor. Market experts say that if deals are made, investor confidence will skyrocket as this will ensure that one of the largest economies in the Federation, Tinis, will be somewhat insulated from oil-panic and therefore, be a solid market in the future. Economic collapse all over the Federation would be disasterous for Miokalia's economy which relies on exports and derives comparably little capital from the service sector. A failure of a major Federation economic power would drive the inflation and the price of imported goods through the roof. Most of the average jump has been in the manufacturing and products sector. Companies like Hasegawe Motor Company (ZCSE:HASGC) experienced a stock price jump of 15 Karats per share, closing at 120 Kt. Mechanized construction equipment manufacturer JCB-Eledor (ZCSE: JCBEL) saw price jumps of 10 Karats per share to close at 168 kt. Both companies rely considerably upon exports to the rest of the Federation.

First Scandal of the Term President Dl. Li Kohastar accused of favoritism in foreign aid handling
Military coalition party leaders have started hard-charging an effort against the new president. Although critics have said that the accusation that Li Kohastar has certain 'favorite' nations to give aid to is hypocritical, since in the past the military coalition party has overtly engaged in the same policy.
"Li Kohastar has an agenda. Kohastar only authorizes foreign aid to nations occupied by reptiles. Notice, how right now, he's trying to ram through the upper-house a bill that would take military effort out of the unified Federation stabilization effort in Lemuryl, and put it into the annexation of Drastrata!", said Military Coalition party Senator Matashu (who supported Kohastar in the election)
"Annexing Drastrata is wholly unnecessary. We do not invade nations. That is absurd", replied Kohastar when asked about the statement at a press conference.
Although it is common knowledge in the administration that the funneling of aide-money to pack leaders in the territories of Draconian Lineage, Drastrata and Drensnake has been happening for a while.
"Is there something wrong with us sending money to nations that happen to be among our greatest suppliers of immigrants?", replied Kohastar to the accusations.
Along with foreign aid, it is safe to assume that Kohastar's politics, which seem to reflect the politics of the Dincotian house of Ral-Totomi, will probably result in a focussing of efforts to aid those countries. Rumor has it that Kohastar is working on a plan to create a possible free-trade zone between the nations. A 'saurian circle' which critics say would leave Miokalia "struggling to retain nearly all of it's jobs" in the wave of deregulation which follows free-trade policy.

Pacifist Party Turns Against President Kohastar Upper-house congresspeople tear-apart and reassemble president's Federation Council resolution to essentially annex Drastrata
This week the upper-house completed the drafting of what will become the constitution for the Protectorate of Drastrata. Attempting to convert the president's imperialistic intention to annex the former nation into an act of good-will toward the international community, representatives on both sides of the aisle are already making bets on how long it will take before the People request that their representatives impeach the president. "At this rate, it won't be long. The only population in support of this motion is a portion of the dragons. The Malych aren't so hot on it, and the dincotians are against it.", said Secretary of State Hiyke Andertol.
Examination of Drastrata The nation that will ruin Kohastar's reputation?
Drastrata was once a stable, nuclear power in the northern Federation, until it lost one of it's nuclear missiles. The most deadly nuclear blast in the history of the Federation occoured 230 feet above the capital city of T3H Furry. That missile was the Nan-Korut A2 or "Apocalypse" hydrogen nuclear missile lost by Drastrata. Shortly after, the government of Drastrata collapsed under civil disorder and military disorganization. The nation of T3H is currently almost totally empty. Needless to say, it's government ceased to exist almost instantly. Recently, an expedition to the remnants of T3H showed that an enormous area around the epicentre of the explosion had been decimated and, while no longer radioactive in most places, there had been a radical change in the environment. The A2 missile used there was a weapon the production of which had ceased almost 20 years before the T3H incident. Production had been picked up again by Drastrata after it had stopped in other nations however. The weapon was discontinued because it's radius of destruction was so large it was "completely and ridiculously useless" for just about anything but incinerating millions of people as quickly as possible. It's safe to say it's tactical applications were totally impractical. Since then Drastrata has fallen into becoming an impoverished and delapidated nation in many parts. Roads have fallen apart. Public education has collapsed and much of the free education has been taken up by the churches. A thing which bothers the very secularist majority of Miokalia. "We can reassemble this nation like no-one else in the Federation can. We have a similar population and we have a pretty good anthropological understanding of dragons since a good portion of our own population is dragons. We need to fix this place before it becomes a liability. Before some extremists get ahold of any of the remaining A2 missiles.", said president Kohastar when asked about this issue. Miokalia plans to locate all of the nuclear missiles and dismantle them while Drastrata is in protectorate status. The nuclear triggers in the warheads can be reprocessed into light-fissionable fuels for powerplants and industrial use. Turning weapons of mass destruction into usefull resources for economic development. When asked about overextending the military in order to do this, Kohastar replied, "Lemuryl is proving to be a lot less of a military operation than we anticipated. Most of our business over there is in construction of public works".

Butin World Times Extra Tinisian News/World News Report
Commander Ovrin Lenord Slams Unionist Foreign Policy Citing the large numbers of troops still deployed to the south, the continued threat by terrorists, and Miokalia's recent interest in Drastrata, Commander Ovrin Lenord of the Tinisian Space Forces called into question Secretary of State Waldo and Supreme Commander Epshrin's abilities to manage Tinisian foreign policy endeavors. Lenord's critics cite the upcoming special Anti-Union convention set to start in two days as the primary reason for the announcement. Lenord's counter response to the critics was that "the world doesn't wait for politically convient moments or slow news days."
Commander Lenord was not specific about what he cited as new reports of terrorist opperations against Tinis but mentioned that several national projects could be seen as opportunities for unwelcome action by these groups. He also flat out called for a withdraw from Lemurly, Genus Liberalis, and Shimandu to occur immediatly, saying the current time table is to slow. Over a third of the troops in Genus Liberalis and Shimandu have returned home in the last two months and another third is expected home in the next month.
Lenord's stated about Miokalia, "Our First Speaker and his partner in crimes against our nation, Secretary of State Waldo, went right into the belly of the beast recently. And what did we get? A trade agreement that makes us dependant on Miokalia. A push by the Miokalians to limit our energy choices. A push by the Miokalians to seize power in Drastrata. Odd moves these. Perhaps they're looking to gain a foot hold in the north. And to do that, they're using us as a step stool."
Lenord's strong words were countered by Speaker Hazril of Centralis. "Lenord's falling off the deep end for sure. Independant of weather its a rouse to court the base of the Anti-Union crowd or an honest increase in viciousness, it still means he's unfit for his position or any position in our government."
Dykon Water Authority Seeks Help from West The Dykon Water Authority of Ofanza has entered into negotiations with the skunk tribes to the west of Tinis to secure primary water rights to the Ofanza river. Securing officially the rights will open up expanded use of the river for power generation and water purification. Currently only one hydroelectric dam exists on the Ofanza near Star Reach where the river is not along the boarder.
The skunks of Fen Fen are often seen by outsiders as an example of a cargo cult gone mad. They've been influenced by the moderization of Shimandu and regions north, as well as in last fifty years by Tinis. This has lead them to construct minature replicas of cars, planes, ships, even cities. The tribes identify themselves with markings similar to signs they've seen when visiting outside cultures. Some are humorus while some seem to invoke a post modern truth.
Roughly ten percent of citizens in the state of Butin can trace their heritage back to the Fen Fen tribes while greater numbers in Asilia and Obrias are able to say the same.

Senator Matashu Leads Rejection of Drastrata Resolution Senator Matashu of Harris District led the upper-house vote against the Drastrata resolution with introduction of recent intelligence
The Drastrata resolution slated to go to Federation council vote was finally knocked-out by the upper-house in a second round of voting. Led by New Penninsular Pacifist Party Senator Fulton Matashu who introduced to the upper-house a highly persuasive presentation on the reasons why Drastrata is *not* a liability.
"As you can see from this high-resolution aerial photograph, this weapons silo is totally inoperable. Nobody, not even PED could find it usefull for terroist activities. And if the photo isn't enough, this is a transcript of what happened when we tried to pull data off of it's computers...
As you can see, their computers are also inoperable.
Additionally, we have the capacity to detect such large nuclear warheads as the A2 Apocalyspe missile. It would definately show up on gamma resonance scans. The ones we use to locate heavy materials and uranium in the ground from the air.
A quick satellite survey of the area shows us two things:
1. There are no more A2 Apocalypse missiles. There are no nuclear missiles of any kind there.
2. Drastrata doesn't even have that much uranium to build those missiles with. They imported all of it before the collapse.
Labelling Drastrata as a "liability" is a blatent disregard for this intelligence and an excuse for imperialistic activities which are totally unnecessary. This kind of decision-making is simply unacceptable. As it stands, if expansion must take place, perhaps we should focus our efforts on the Northern Eledorian Coast, just northeast of the Northern Continental Republic. We would be taking the land from virtually no-one and our gamma resonance scan shows that the area has more uranium than the entirity of Drastrata.
I say we leave Drastrata be.", he said.
Doroy Blinn Responds to Slamming of Tinis' Union Party Military leader really not very fond of Commander Orvin Leonard
Recently Leonard slammed the Tinisian Union Party for their recent diplomatic aggreements with Miokalia. Stating that the recent energy resolution "limits Tinis' energy choices" and "makes Tinis dependent on Miokalia". To this, SPC-A.Cmdr Doroy Blinn who is also the representative and speaker for the Malych Central Awareness probe said that the statements regarding Tinis' foreign policy dealings with Miokalia were "Disappointing." He said, "Okay, as far as limiting energy choices goes, well that is just another excuse not to do something to address a very real problem: Peak Oil. To us the argument does not take into account the science of the issue. Invalid Entry. As for the argument that it will make Tinis dependent on Miokalia. Well to that I must point to yet even more science: Hydrogen and Ammonium can be produced anywhere there is water, wind, sun or access to geothermal or literally any other form of renewable energy. Dependence on Miokalia is temporary at most. Although I can assure you, dependence on Miokalia's stockpile will be inevitable if nothing is done until peak-oil hits and drives the price up above 150Kt/Bbl (~US $142 /Bbl). That's because you have to get energy from somewhere. Better they give incentive to build the infrastructure now than when they won't have the ability too. Once again, Invalid Entry. As for the Drastrata issue. Well, actually I'm against Miokalian involvement in Drastrata. Kohastar is being imperialistic and he will likely be impeached if he keeps it up. So I don't blame him for not liking that so much or seeing it as a threat."

Former President Phong Tosses Hat Into Post-Impeachment Presidential Race New Penninsular Pacifist Party shocked/not really so happy about former 1-term president's decision to run again
President Halderyyt Phong has decided to run once again for his old position, in lieu of what he says was a 'failure of poorly constrcuted party to produce a canidate who is able to make things happen properly'. Phong, who is often considered to be a Dincotian Socialist, had at the end of his term, a number of new policies which pulled the economy from a rating of "good" all the way up to "powerhouse", dropping the unemployment rate to 4%. Kohastar, who never even touched economic policy in his short term saw those policies continue to work as the unemployment rate dropped even further, even with the integration of the NCR putting additional strain on the system. The unemployment rate is now 2% and holding steady. With Phong once again in the election, it is beleived that Tilje (the current leader in polls) will resign from the election. Senator Matashu (HPP) has already folded and resigned from the election after Tilje announced her entry. Phong, whose mere entry into the race automatically guarantees him a minimum of 30% in the polls from the Malych vote, will retain the current cabinet if elected. Giving a Secretary of State Andertol a third term in the office. And giving Gladarus Zagckza a fifth term in the office of Secretary of defense.

Briefs: - NCR rated to be the fastest growing economy of all five states (and 1 territory) - The proposed Eastern Seaboard Agricultural Exapansion received unanimous approval from upper-house. ESAE would become the sixth state (and then receive an appropriate name) if negotiations end sucessfully. - Ropoggo blast devastates Tinisian agricultural capacities. Damage assessed: over 652,329 acres of land are now totally unusable for agricultural production. - Ciata decreases imports of LTG (Low-pressure Tdarocel Gas used for domestic heating and agricultural applications) In lieu of new law regarding import of foreign technology. This is not expected to impact production or prices at all (since there never was much exportation to begin with). - Exportation of TEF (Tdarocel Electrolytic Fuel) increases by 2-fold to Northern Furry markets, as they seek out less expensive sources of hydrogen-based fuel-cell fuel.
Eastern Seaboard Agricultural Expansion
Fueled by the need to increase the effectiveness of existing agricultural establishments in the former Eledorian Republic and Northern Kingdom, the Miokalian government is considering the integration of a strip of land to the north-east of the NCR. The inhabitants of the land are sparse, and have been considered a proxy-ward of the nation for quite some time. The acquisition of this land wouldn't be hostile, in fact, the territory in question: Hyacharta, has actually been pushing for integration for quite some time since it would be economically in their best interest. Federal funding of public works is something that the area does not currently receive from anyone. Thus integration would allow the local governments to lower their taxes and thus allow for greater prosperity. The area is small, does not currently infringe upon any existing territory claimed by a Federation state.
Lower-House rams transitionary law in to place.
A law that would require the direct tax-less conversion of cyberspace currency 'Whuffie' into Karats at an exchange rate of 1:1 was pushed through the lower-house by a ferocious hoarde of (mostly Malych) HPP-party representatives previously called 'neogreens' for their politics of streamlining environmental management and "making environmentalism built into the interests of business, instead of a threat to them". With the pass of the bill, a new party seems to be coalescing from the scattering pieces of the old pacifist coalition (HPP). In an announcement shortly after the passing of the bill, senate majority leader, Matashu (HPP-Harris), stated that this was a bold step towards the final end of the dominance of 'scarcity economics'. About 75% of the HPP's politicians have begun referring to themselves as the 'Party of Biszlocsunry'. (Biszlocsun = A term derived from a Kohtohkhan transliteration of another word for a philosophy of post-scarcity and trans-naturalism which originally appeared as a theoretical government ideology in semi-utopian science fiction)
It seems the more conservative elements of the party have clearly made an effort to seperate themselves from them. The new party division seems to be along the lines of church/state issues, foreign affairs and economic policy. But the party division has seemed to leave interest groups confused and disoriented, Big business is deeply and sharply divided between the two, as the Biszlocsunist policies seem to benefit industry and most commerce... but utterly annihilate the entire, already weakened, financial sector. Certain supply-dependent industries are concerned over the possible Malychosocialization of their businesses as it is deemed that certain things must be cheaper in order to keep the operating costs of other businesses incredibly low. (Malychosocialization = When a business service becomes a completely government-technocratically-run service, which operates as though it is outside of the economy. Usually this means the Malych take control of it completely.) It is possible that this is a radical response to Tinis' Neo Pargalonian Party, since this party seeks to basically redefine wealth by shifting it from 'resource capitalism' to 'conceptual capitalism'. President Phong has yet to officially endorse or react to this movement, but has thus far exhibited subtle approval of it by expressing support for the recently passed bill.

It has also been lauded as actually being 'more authentic to the roots of the concept' than the other foreign, human-made show by expanding it towards being more attention-grabbing and educational as opposed to appealing to a younger audience (and sacrificing quality).

Controversial Contraceptive Bill Passes With Landslide Support
A bill which has been touted as 'underminding the ethical decisions in other countries' has passed 253 to 3 through the lower house yesterday. The bill would allow Miokalian medical vector manufacturers to produce vast quanitities of the contraceptive RU-486 for the purpose of exportation to foreign markets. The contraceptive, which has almost no side-effects in mammals has been sold at very high prices in several human countries because of political pressure against the highly effective pill, this exportation has been described as "whacking those markets really hard in the knees with a baseball-bat" since the pill, typically sold for 320 Karats (600 US dollars), would be sold at a price of just 12 Karats (6 US Dollars) since the pill costs only 0.25 Karat to produce. Some foreign pundits have condemned this action as an "attack against foreign politicies, ethics and values". Biszlocsun Party cheif justice of Rohomeo District, Diyiyot responded by saying, "Yes. It is". This bill, rammed through the house primarily by the Biszlocsun Party appears to be an indicator of a what some have begun to call a "Militant Civil Liberalism Movement". Even though the availibility of this medicine would not override individual governments' own policies on regulating such substances, it has been seen as a subtle 'push' towards what Dyiyot calls, "making the population of the world aware of civil liberties that they are perhaps being deprived of".
Black Saturday Sales Turn out to be Nothing Special
Major retailers report mediocre sales after the largest shopping day of the year (in Miokalia). No major losses, but retailers are not doing as well as they hoped. Major general retailer Cyuut reported a profit equal to 80% of last year's with most of the sales occouring in the mammalian-oriented sector. Analysts blame Repitillian 'short attention spans' for the lack of early holiday shopping in the Dincotian/Daeronese sector. Solstice, (also sometimes called 'Dinosaur Christmas') occours on December 20th and the south has historically always had the vast majority of their shopping revenue in the two weeks immediately before the 20th.
