GBWT space techs focus their own satilites in on the suposed location. A few seconds of scanning and, "Captin, it's confirmed. A small cave is harboring sevral life signs, with sevral outside, presumeably guards. Recomend action sir?" The captin sitting on the bridge of the Flagship ponders a moment. "Evacutate any personel within a mile of the area, make sure that our allies do as well. Use Kenetic Thrower #2 to smash some rocks into them. It's time we showwed them just how powerful we are." The captin sits back as the orders are brodcast, and a large satilite, made up mostly of megnetic rings held togather by long rods with an atached control capsule, menuvers into position and prepares to fire one of it's spear-like projectiles...

The dropship guards from the Blackhammer carefully hop out, long-barrelled 50. caliber sniper-rifles in place of the machineguns, and move towards the wall, carefully climbing up it and sitting back down in the crenelations.
The species of the guards is pretty well indeterminable, except that they must be canids of some variety. The thick armour and myofiber underlays of the suit as well as the full helmet with HUD and environmental analysis as well as a PiP display instead of a scope provide ample protection against small-arms fire as well as keeping the suits completely enclosed.
They keep watch on the ridgeline for any signs of infantry activity while the local commanders try and figure out what to do, debating vigorously amongst themselves as to the best course of action.
Blackclaw: "Alright, so the ennemy is more determined and more suicidal than we had imagined. Admittedly they would not have known of the AMS's so I am not surprised that they attempted this sort of stunt with the rockets. How is Blackstripe doing, anyways?"
Star Commander Browncoat aka Cottontail: "He is as well as can be exected; minor concussion and his left left paw is sprained; other than that a few cuts and bruises, one right over his brow. As for his mech, the technicians are replacing the myofiber bundles and armour plating in the leg as we speak and removing the destroyed gun. The replacement will take a least a day to refit, however, and the targetting systems and weapons-control will take a week for the nanites to fix, which is all that can be done."
Blackclaw: "Very well. The anti-ballistic missile system is fully operational however?"
Browncoat: "Aff, it is. Radars have been integrated as well. The dropship sensors have a two-hundred kilometer range but I am concerned about the ridgelines interefering with them."
Blackclaw: "Concern duly noted, I will come to that in a minute. Redcoat, do you have any suggestions about what to do in regards to the visual cover at the base of the valley?"
Star Commander Jamieson Vulpus aka Redcoat: "Aff, I do. Bring one of the dropships out and turn it around and use the plasma-vents to heat the whole valley and melt off all the snow. The rebels use it as visual and heat-cover."
Silence followed by a quiet chuckle from Blackclaw
BC: "Very well then. Dropship Ghostwolf?"
GW: "Aff, commander?"
BC: "Send your copilot out to meet with one of they Ciantans and see if you can get them to authorize the plan, we will wait on her here."
GW: "Aff, she's off to do it now."
The rabbit copilot hops out and quietly scuttles off to find the nearest monk.

After being reffered to the Master of Theology, none other than Kohen Lucias, he doesn't quite get the responce he wanted,
"Melt the snow in the valley? All of it? It has been building of for hundreds of year in some areas and is many feet thick. If you were to try to melt it you would flood the valley, and a river comes streight through the Monastery itself. I'm afraid that plan would be ill-received here as it would flood our Monastery and ruin the coutry side."

The copilot hops back into the bay doors and scrambles back to the control-center before floomping down on the pilot's seat and picking up the com again.
GW: "Bad news, the Ciatans have nixed the idea. Risk of flooding."
BC: "Aff, that is to be expected I guess...wait, did you say flooding?"
GW: "Aff, sir, I did."
BC: "Tell me, what would happen if someone managed to detonate a nuclear weapon high enough up the mountain to be out of range of the fission suppressor?"
GW: "The heat from...the...oh gods, the entire monestary would be swept away by the ensuing flood."
BC: "Precisely, that and there is a risk of avalanches being triggered by anyone with enough explosives. Get back out there and warn them. Pilot, get on coms and give the same warning to our esteemed allies, we have a serious risk of indirect attack here and we nearly did it outselves."
The rabbit hits the ladder at a full run, sliding down it barepaw as she goes to deliver the waring to Kohen Lucias, the other one getting on coms channels to the the GWBT and Tinisian forces.

After receiving the warning from Baradun,
"Yes, we have worried about that, but of course, they do not just want to kill us, but capture the knowledge contained within our sacred halls. Though we fear the last resort nature of it, they would more likely detonate the bomb withing range to kill us for sure rather than risk us surviving the flood. So sad really, our old protectors, these mountains, are even a threat to us now. Hard to trust anyone or anything these days."

It isn't long after the Cenpalis sets down at the east end of the ridge that has become the home of the Tinisian encampment that is main gang plank is lowered. Major Illias, along with his top three wait at the bottom in salute. It isn't long before a figure appears from inside. The fur in question, decked out in medals, bars, and ribbons all over their formal uniform, begins to walk down toward the waiting major. As the orange and black fur comes into view, Major Illias knows immediately who has come to take control of the operation.
The tiger finally reaches the bottom of the ramp, turns and salutes the major. Though not in charge of the army by any means, the Commander in front of Illias requires the same respect as he would treat his own superiors.
After the salute, Commander Dobbin Krazalgesh tells Major Illias, "At ease. Major Illias I assume?"
"That is correct sir."
"What is your status?"
"The mechs and troops from the other nations have entered combat with forward sniper and scouting units from the enemy. Toson two, by way of routed communications to hide their location, sent everyone a message about the likely position of the attacker's forward outpost which I've been told has been struck. For details on those operations I would suggest speaking with the Baradun and GBWT commanders.
"As for ourselves. The defensive perimeter is complete. We're using this ridge as both a staging area as well as an easy distraction for any who would get past the orbitals, mechs and spacies, not to mention our friend up there in the clouds. As the foreign units move more into patrol mode we're quickly taking primary responsibility for defending the monastery proper and the dropships that seem to be multiplying out here. Of course the dropships have their own grunts to keep 'em safe, but if the enemy even gets to them, then we're pretty well screwed."
"And how's the pipe dream? I mean... fission suppression device?" The Commanding Tiger rolls his eyes as he says this.
"We are still uncertain about weather it will work or not. Anti-ballistic systems have been brought in by Baradun just in case it doesn't. We're still trying to figure out the power rigging problem, but my Analyst says most of the rest is in working order, at least theoretically. I don't get their mumbo jumbo, but they seem to be excited about it. They do say there are two other problems, targeting and testing. The testing problem is that its hard to test out the few resonances they narrowed it down to without a full scale nuclear attack to repulse."
Commander Krazalgesh nods. "Targeting?"
"Yes, the things too damn heavy to move even with the mechs. They'd sink into the snow if they tried to carry what their particle cannon has become, let alone what ever power system we hook up to it. Scron informs me that it might be possible to move it with the aid of either your ship or the Toson two lifting it enough for the mechs to maneuver it."
The tiger looks down into the valley. "That's a big chunk of metal you got there. What are the plans to power it currently?"
Illias says, "Well Scron's been trying to devise away to incorporate the Chatan magic stones with conventional reactors. The Ciatans say their heaven stones have fusion power sources or something. But to be honest, I think he's at a loss currently of just how to put it all together."
"Thank you major. Any thing else?"
"Nothing beyond what I've already sent to the tower."
The Commander nods. "Well I guess I should give you your orders. You and your furs are to continue acting as the last line of defense for the monastery. Get the contraption up and running. Under section 10053 of the Military Code of Tinis, the helicopters I brought here will launch a raid on the rebel encampment. They're forces have entered into combat against the position we are holding, thus we are officially in full combat operations with them. If the raid is successful, we'll both do some damage, as well as know their current combat capabilities and readyness. The Cenpalis will remain here, unload supplies, then I'll be taking her up to keep watch on the raid. The Toson will remain hidden until called. You will have full authority on the ground unless I order otherwise. Understood major?"
"Yes sir!"

Back in space... "Sir, we detect sevral helecopers moveing towrds the rebel outpost! They apper to be from Tinis, sir." The captin, one of the meny humans onboard, sighs. "Did the transmition make it through to the Tinis comanders? Hail the choppers directly and warn them of our impending orbital strike." A mesage is realayed to the Tinis comand center as well as the choppers.
Back on the ground... The final touches are put on the gun emplacments, and most all major valleys are blockaded by some wepon or another. The fortifacations are especialy heavy where two or more canyons meet. There are a number of dropships providing shutle service to all troops, as well as light patrol flights. A solid HQ has been established within the walls of the Monastary, and a relay station has been set up for comunications to the remaining Citians...

"Understood," returns the Tinisian flight leader to base. "We're breaking off. Heading to secondary target."
-----
Almost instantly, Commander Krazalgesh recieves the message. "And don't worry about being nice at secondary. Just be sure to skirt the main column and concentrate on the frige groups. And double check readiness before you reach them. Its a two hour trip so make sure to wake everyone before you get there. Krazalgesh out."
-----
The collection of ten helicopters change course and begin skirting the valleys on their way south. A couple hours later they do encounter the main rebel force. Of the ten helicopters, only two return to base four hours after that.

The Mechs linning the valley near the monestary sit and wait, occassional bursts of coded signals going through as the remaining four scout mechs makes their way to the southern edge of the valley, jump-jetting to the top of the ridge and taking up positions so their missile racks and AT guns are just poking over the ridgeline along with the cannopies, scanning the lower valley.
"Cottontail to Black Panther, Tinnisian forces are returning. Looks like they've been mauled pretty bad, eighty-percent casualties. I think something is comming at us."
"Aff, Cottontail. Keep a lookout up there. Redcoat, we are moving to a more advantageous spot to cover the lower valley, advise you do the same."
"Aff, Black Panther, Redcoat and company moving forward, we have a position scouted out."
The aussault mechs move up, the brawlers making a short run to the next outcropping as the artillery moves up the slope and behind a set of low outcroppings so they're in the same sort of position as they were before; apprehensively awaiting the ennemy forces, all eight mechs actively scanning the valley floor for any movement.

The small crew on the Rail gun, or, as it's known to the crew, the "Nail Gun", they recive the fire codes. This crew is entierly human. "OK boys and girls, looks like it's time to lay down some orbital hell." They all man their stations and activate the gun. The megnetic coils charge up and one of the long, hardend rods is release into the fireing position at the back of the gun. "Fire in 5" "4" "3" "2" "1" "Fire!" The coils release their discharge and the rod is hurled towords the planet. From the ground, it looks like a meteor is comeing in. In seconds, the bar has reached it's destonation, and makes a direct hit on the outpost, and is quickly followed by 2 more. These projectiles are made for decimating buildings and bunkers. There is indeed almost nothing to stop them, be it armor or anti-air wepons, simply due to their tremendes velocity. The outpost, along with its occupants, are blow away, and a small mushroom cloud and 3 smll booms from the impacts are all that is seen and heard by those outside the valley.
"Sir, 3 direct hits on the enemy outpost. Destrucion confiremed. IT was a cave sir, not that that offered any protection." "Good. Any signs of colateral damage?" "Negitive sir. Other then a slight avelanch directly above the cave, no other damage recorded." "Very good. Now, what is the position of the enemy convoy? I just read a report of sevral Tinis choppers being taken out when they atempted to engage the main collum." "Corect sir, Tinis forces have indeed engaged the rebel faction and sustaind casulties. "Well, this may complicate things. Find out if Tinis HQ can confirm any survivors before we decide to atack..."
On the ground... A RACEV flies into the valley that previously contained the outpost. It's external camera's rolling, it makes 3 fly-by's of the impact crators before landing and leting 15 combat troops, 2 Space-Boys, and a small feild research team out. They secure the landing site as the scientists begin to take mesurments and readings on the impact site...

A conversation between the Head Master, Kohen Lucias, and officers from each force goes on about the size of the rebel force. The head master repeats back the list again given by the fated Tinisian chopper group,
"So, about 90 tanks, 50 mobile artilary units, almost 200 Jeeps with either artilary or TOW set-ups, about 35 Choppers, two dozen fighter planes, and some 15,000 other assorted infantry in the main force and another force that was at the High Citadel on the way. What would be the most likely means of delivering the nuclear device in your opinions? Oh, and also Opalance is doing well, though his body and mind are still healing from the reverting process, he will be able to take over soon on our end. We also have some of the last few reamining Raja Borah here including Rowan Stormwake and Silvanus who apparently was guarding the Diacanos the whole time under cover."

A GBWT officer speeks up. "Well, if they intend to nuke the monastary, i would suspect that the device might be loaded into one of the fighter planes. That is the best method i can think of anyway. It really depends on what type of device they have. However, i wouldn't think that they want to use it right away. They may try to take the monastary rather then destroy it because it is a symbol of power and lagecy. No, i think that we can expect the air wing to come in first and atempt to soften up our defensis before the main body arives, adn then we'll be dealing with artiery fire, the tanks, as well as the infantry. I have been asked to inform you that our satilites are capable of atacking the force before they reach us, and thin their numbers, especial the tanks and artilery. We can coordinate so that sevral satilites strike similtaniiusly just before they engage our defensis here..."

"As for the planes," comments Major Illias. "The Toson two will do its best to take them down. The beauty of stealth like the Toson's is that the Toson can be almost right on top of them before firing. But if those planes are carrying nukes, taking the planes by surprise might result in a premature detonation. We need to know if they have nuclear weapons and how they plan to deliver them. My government has yet to infiltrate their ranks with agents, but if any of the rest of you have had better luck, I ask that you contact them and try to figure that out.
"And if any tanks or artilery survive the orbital berrage, the Toson can provide a shorter range version."

Blackclaw (aka Black Panther) speaks up from the dataplate on the table that's connected to his coms array.
"The assault mechs can easily sustain an artillery bombardment, and I think we outrange any LOS equipment they currently have but we can't sustain missile bombardment for very long. I would preffer waiting until we can get a sizable portion of their force into the valley before opening fire, thus taking out the maximum ammount of ennemy units before they can properly realise what's happening. The dropship that's stationed inside the gate is more suited for anti-armour but it should also do well for anti-aircraft.
"As for any ordinance a fighter could get off either the local AMSs on the mechs or the ABMS should be able to destroy those; though a nuclear weapon does have a much smaller need for accuracy so they might feel confident in letting it detonate early if they use it.
"Airstrikes can be dealt with rather easily by the remaining scout mechs, however, their target lock is nearly unshakable since the sensors are advanced enough to tell the difference bettween decoy ordinance and an actual aircraft."
He coughs.
"Besides, I'd like a chance for a real combat-trial. We've not had much experience against actual hostile forces and would like the opportunity to bra...I mean, hone our skills. We'll let you have the second wave, GBWT, honest."
A quick paws before he comes through again.
"By the way, we dropped two prisoners off with your guards, have they woken up enough to get intelligence from? Or anything for that matter?"

"Oh, we have questioned them, though we dont believe in torture, especially not of our own kind, the guilt we have put upon them has broken them down, though they haven't given anything that seems usefull. They are just young, hot headed, Ciatan, eager to do anything rebelious or wot not."
