<Interior of 'The Tower' - Data Analysis Level A>
"They learned quickly from their encounter with Ciata sir," says the skunk. "They prearranged their strike well. Instead of forming up and moving out in a column as they did last time, they engaged in mock battles with each other near the boarder of Genus Liberalis. When they had given us enough time to turn our attention elsewhere, they changed their behavior. It was less than twelve hours before they were over the boarder and another three before they began burning the capital."
Supreme Commander Epshrin, an aged but imposing wolf, nods. "Analysist Krel, may I ask why you were unable to discern their intentions before these events."
"Our resorces are near their limit. Sicarii has been placed as highest priority by yourself and the other commanders with plans for securing the remaining portions of Shimandu. The former Shimandu forces involved were not believed to be attached to Sicarii nor any of the other major players on the ground. Their previous behavior reflected that of scavanger units that fill up the gaps between control areas. And the boarder between then and Genus Liberalis was filled with either the Ciata boarder control zone and mountains. In fact, I highly suggest extending the Ciata boarder control zone into northern Genus Liberalis."
Epshrin frowns at the skunk. "Is that your expert analysis or your groups analysis?"
"Mine only."
"I'll consider it. However, we cannot thin the control zone. Commander Usil is doing well but there's the possibility that this is a ruse to thin his ranks so another attack can be made against Ciata." Epshrin lowers his ears and stares off into space for a minute.
"Sir?"
"I hate to do this, but we need more toops there. Contact Deputy Commander Roberts. I need to talk to him."
"Yes sir," Krel salutes Epshrin before taking his leave.
-----------
"Yes Supreme Commander, this is Deputy Commander Roberts."
"A situation has developed. Forces from Shimandu have snuk into Genus Liberalis and have gone on a ramapge. Are you aware of this situation?"
"Yes sir. Commander Usil is readying counter action and has ordered forces into Genus Liberalis."
"Inform Usil that I am placing under his command several new units to fill the gaps in the Ciata Boarder Control Zone."
"Yes sir."
The Supreme Commander smiles, making sure to show the tips of his teeth. "In fact, inform him that Arx Company Zero will be joining them."
The cat on the screen flicks his wiskers. "That's definatly a new unit. I was unaware they had completed their training. And besides, aren't they technically under the jurisdiction of Commander Vinlia not Usil?"
"Technically. But Technically, all of you follow my orders in times of war and conflict. Oh, and Sargent Kad will assigned to them as well."
The look on concern on the face of Roberts grows. "Um... yes sir..."
"Is there a problem Commander?"
"No Supreme Commander. I have no problem assisting in the commanding of a soldier who failed to protect his unit. In fact if Kad is to be under my command, I'll make sure he shapes up."
The wolf cackles. "We'll see."

"Hi, I am Lieutenant Kad. I'll be your commanding officer for this little war. I don't know why I've been given this rank, you to command, or why the hell we are even here right now. But we have a job to do, and we will complete it."
The twelve furs standing before the large grizzeled mouse stare at him.
"Any questions?" he asks.
A boar raises and arm. "Yes, I have a question or two sir."
"What is your name soldier?"
"Corpral Hon. Do you have any idea what our unit it?"
Kad smiles, "Yes I do soldier. You are the elite of the Tinis military. Inheritors of the proud skills, knowledge, training, and equipement of a long line of elite units tracing all the way back to the Federation days. However, you have yet to earn the same level of respect that all those who came before you have. You are to be faster, stronger, smarter, and better than your predecessors, but I'm sure we'll soon be finding out if that's the case. Any other questions?"
"Yes sir," says Corpral Hon again. "Are you going to get us killed too?"
Kad moves towards Hon. "Excuse me soldier? What was that?" He stops inches in front of the boar's snout, looking down at the expert gunner. "Did I just find out that I've been put in charge of the most arogant, immature, and unready soldiers to ever grace a battlefield?"
"No sir. I simply asked..."
"Because it sounds like it! Just because you pansy's have been training in your special gyms over in the big city doesn't mean you have the right to be disrespecting your commanding officer. This is a war son. The forces of evil are trying to destroy us. If Sicarii was here, do you think he would care about your stupid ass questions while he ripped out your spine?"
"No sir."
Kad leans closer. "Then remember to in the future to ask only relavent questions that you need to know the answers too! Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes sir."
"Very well," Kad backs off turns and walks back to where he had stood before. The expressions on his unit have changed. They are unsettled, but hiding it as best they can. "Since there are no furthur questions, I want a roll call from each component leader. Tank!" Kad pulls out a small note pad from one of his many chest pockets.
"Sargent Anderson reporting, Norbeck, Hon, and Sheltzer accounted for."
Kad nods. "Air!"
"Sargent Flaz reporting, Abrams and Imizral accounted for."
Again, a nod from Kad. "Heavy Weapons."
"Sargent Gibret reporting, and Melborn accounted for."
"Stealth."
"Sargent Ebek reporting, Omar and Silvrisim accounted for."
"Good to hear that everyone made it. Our first mission, since we will all be accepting it, is to shut down, secure, and destroy an armory that the Shimandan forces have seized roughly thirteen miles to the south, near the river. Deadly force is authorized, since all the Shimandu forces in Genus Liberalis have obviously failed to meet the official obligations for leanancy. We move out at 0900. You have one hour to pack up your trouser presses folks. Move it!"

From: Beta Phen'Mellek Lle of Democratic States of Lemuriania's Armed Forces To: Supreme Commander Epshrin of Tinus's Armed Forces in Genus Liberalis Subject: Need Some Reinforcements?
In light of the nuclear strike and the growing threat of Sicarii and the additional enemy forces, the DSL is would like to join you in this... war.
While I personally always believed in the threat just to the east of us, our president didn't want to get involved. He fears of what the repercussions might be. Plus, he's the first male president we've had in over 120 years. Like the last one, he doesn't want to be seen as a war-monger out for conquest. Luckily for us, he finally realizes this is a matter of national security and not a matter of getting re-elected.
As for Lemuriania's game plan, we're going to send our bombers eastward to soften the ground first before sending in out ground forces to blitzkrieg anything else alive right afterwards. Our Navy would then go into the river from the South and bombard any enemy cities and Naval ships before sending out bombers and ground forces to the west, clearing out a nice path and having Lemuriania's two forces meet in the middle before regrouping and continuing on eastward.
Of course, the point of the telegram is to figure out what your plans are and how we could combine them. We also don't want our bombers to bomb any troops or agents you may already have in our path of destruction. In fact, our units will attack only once we know what you're up to ... within our one week window, of course.
Signing off, Beta Phen'Mellek Lle

To: Beta Phen'Mellek Lle of Democratic States of Lemuriania's Armed Force From: Commander Usil, Field Commander of the Ciata Boarder Region Forces Subject: Lemuriania Military Action
First, appologies that this message is not coming from Supreme Commander Epshrin. His duties currently demand that this communication be delegated to myself. As current Field Commander of the Ciata Boarder Region Tinisian forces, I can safely inform you that you have a green light to partake in your plan (as stated in your origional message) in Genus Liberalis.
Current Tinisan action in Genus Liberalis has been limited to the territory near the Ciata boarder due to a number of considerations and the need for troops elsewhere. However, in the time frame of one week, the situation is likely to be radically different and our forces maybe prepared to begin movement south. As is, there are a number of specialized units opperating beyond the current control zone disrupting attempts by Shimandan warlords to gain a foot hold in Genus Liberalis' northern half. A majority of thise specialized units are of a black ops nature, however a few contain more conventional military elements and openly show Tinisian identification.
We do not forsee great difficulty in your actions in southern and western Genus Liberalis. After the initial strike by the Shimandan warlords, Genus Liberalis entered a psuedo civil war similar to that currently afflicting much of Shimandu. However due to the relative distance to the Shimandu boarder, we expect less resistance on that front as compared to what may be faced further east. The exception to this is the capital city which, what is left of it, is firmly in the hands of a warlord known as Sky Vanders, a former general in Shimandu with suspected ties to the Shimandu assasination plot.
River travel becomes more difficult when the river meets the Shimandu boarder, however most modest sized vessel can continue as far as where the river is joined with the northerly flowing tributary from Shimandu. Travel north of that is unadvisable for for seaborn vessels. But please note the inherit risks of using any seaborn vessels in fresh water.
I mentioned that the situation may be changing in a week. With the current successes by Shikeishuu in Shimandu, the movement of our military might be able to be increased as the size of the front decreases. However, these are just estimates.
Finally, the attempted nuclear strike by Drastrata has our analyists worried. There is a possibility that Sicarii has not only prevented the missile's detenoation, but is capable of using it for his own purposes. If that is true, then I feel that it is our best interests and in the interests of the federation as a whole that we share with you that if the missile is relaunched, that there is a 3% chance the target could be Lemuriania in origion. The percentage is small as compared to other potential targets, including my own home, Arx. But I suggest that any percautions you may have be put in place or readied. Ours are already on stand by.
I may not be a politician, except for a couple weeks every few years around election time, but I personally feel you and your president are doing the right thing in defending your boarders and assisting in the stabilization of Genus Liberalis.
Best of luck and good fighting.
-Commander Usil

[OOC: Sorry about taking so long to post, Easter just overwhelmed me.]
The Nexes Blade: International Edition
War Official Declared
Dateline: War-Front
After much long deliberation, the Lemurian government sent the bill to the 17 states of Lemuriania with particular urgency to declare war against the fragmented nation of Genus Liberalis. All 17 states voted unamiously in favor of miltary action.
"It's all about protecting our freedom," proclaims governor Zhen'E Renreveg, "Had this been a nation on the other end of the world, we won't have cared. Genus Liberalis is right next door. Hell, I'm not sure why we didn't claim war sooner."
Bombers have already been launched from Lemurian's most eastern hangars and soon ground forces should follow with addtional help from Tinis excepted to come from the north.
"We don't expect this war to be long," says Beta Phen'Mellek Lle, "Our analysts show that forces are so divided, we could control Genius Liberalis within the six months. Unless Shimandan forces invade from the East, though at this point, that's highly unprobably."
Speculations on true nature of this war has arised from DSL's foremost anti-war group, LAW (Lemurans Against War). Spokesman Yhyto'Noy Kyllyng stated that 'the intent of this war is to expand Lemuriania's Boarders'. When asked to elaberate, Kyllyng declined to comment.
Press MinsterYDolyvor’Noy ThoNows does not public deny the fact that territory from Genus Liberalis could become apart of Lemuriania, though he suggests that this is only one of the many options open with the 'most likely' of them being to just hand over GL to the Furry Federation for joint control.

Kad appears to be the only one in the helicopter who doesn't mind the heat. Sargent Flaz, Abrams, and Imizra take sips out of their canteens almost every minute. Kad, as usual, peers out the side with his binoculars, surveying the country side.
"Hey, L T, see any thing?" asks Imizra. Imizra is a well built anthro-dragon, quite uncommon in Tinis, and sits at the parimary weapon controls.
"Not yet."
A couple minutes pass before Kad speaks again. "I see the target. Call India Charlie."
Sargent Flaz, in the back of the helicopter, starts speaking into a microphone. "India Charlie, India Charlie, India Charlie. This is India Charlie."
"Abrams," says Kad. "Do you see the tank column?"
"Afirmative," squeaks the female squirrl pilot.
Kad nods. "Come in low and approche from the side. Imizra, target the front vehicle. After its been taken out, target the back. Abrams, keep up your speed. If we need to take a second pass, that is acceptable. Anderson and Gibret should be in position by now. They'll commence firing once we've struck and hopefully will draw their fire after we pass."
The helicopter decends to a dozen feet above the ground, occasionally skirting the short trees of the Liberali savana. Small weapons fire strikes the helicopter, occasionally denting the armor. Some of the tanks begin to turn their turrets towards the approching helicopter. Imizra opens fire with two rockets at the lead tank. Seconds later the lead tank is a blaze. Imizra targets the rear tank and fires two more rockets. Again, an explosion.
"The lead tank appears to be still operable," yells Kad. The helicopter flys over the tank column. "Fly out a bit and return for a second pass. Imizra, let loose with everything this time."
The paps and booms continue behind them as they fly off and begin their turn. As the tanks return to view, the fighters amungst them fire off into the direction the Tinisian helicopter had come from. Imizra fires the remaining two rockets at the front tank and lets loose with the machine gun. The front tank explodes, followled shortly by one of the tanks in the middle.
--------
Twenty minutes later, Kad approches Sargent Ebek amoung the burnt out rubble of the tank column. Ebek, a grinning wolverine, stands above a half dead soldier of unknown species. The soldier on the ground is covered in burnt fur and blood, but is still breathing.
"Report," says Kad.
"Well sir, it appears this one was their commander. Lucky we didn't kill him really." Ebek extends his grin. "But if we had, we couldn't of figure out what he knew. And what he knew was who he had allegances too. And who he had allegances too was none other than Sky Vanders. And they were going to the capitol to assist Sky Vanders with his exit from the city. The exit caused by the imminent arrival of Lemurian forces. They were to escort Vanders and a select group of assistants. Assistants and a couple prisoners. Important prisoners."
"Priosners eh? Ebek, are you interested in a rescue mission?"
"Always sir."

Beta Phen'Mellek Lle's Personal Log. [OOC: Translated to English for Obvious reasons.]
3/30 - Our soliders quickly pushes through the eastern front of GL! It was such an exciting moment to see our girls and boys take out those tanks and push onward, taking no one prisoner!
No news yet from our Navy, however. It seems they didn't anticipate dams. Ha! That's our navy... Just goes to show you the REAL brains is in our Army!
Looks like we have some company coming in from the south. Time to take'em out!
3/31 - Pushed through more territory. Damn, this is almost too easy. The most interesting stuff seems to be happening at camp rather than on the battle field. There's been talk by one of our R&D guys that we'll all be replaced by robots in 25 or so years. I think he's full of bullshit, to be honest with ya. I seen him use one of those robots out on the battle field. The roll inside of caves and get turned over pretty easily. It's almost laughible.
Our construction team as set up a temp airbase inside of the friendly territory. Instead of our bombers and choppers flying long distances to the border base and back, they can land at this temp base inside. Downfall is they still have go back, grab some food and fuel and come back.
Speaking of which, it's about time for mess hall. Gamma Zhen'Eed Eed Sdretseb keeps flirting with me... It's against the rules, but I let him. Back home, I don't have a mate anyway. God, 43 year old commander and here I am, alone.
4/1 - No entry.
4/2 - I can't believe I did it. I made love to Eed! It was... amazing. It was just use on the roof of our conqured town, looking out at the setting sun. There was not a sign of any crazy RPG welding giraffe or the like. Just me, him, our rations and the night sky. It was romantic! I hate to admit it, but I even let him take me. I've never let anyone take me before. My consertive convictions as a traditional, matratical woman would not allow me to... but someone was different about Eed. I dunno why.. There's just something odd about--- Entry ends.
4/3 - 4/5 - No Entries.
4/6 - Woah. I've been away from you for awhile. Well, I've been side-tracked. We've had been periodically bombed by perhaps the largest forces we've seen yet. They serious bombarded us with used tanks, bombs and bullets.. we've even encountered some ol' GL fighter jets. Granted, even when the Genus Liberalis was around the jets wasn't as impressive as ours, but to see them streak across the sky was a little unexpected to say the least.
We won this battle but at the expense of 7 of our soilders, one of them being the R&D guy I wrote about eariler. Death is a common ally of war, but the feeling is still hard to shake off.
The bright side is that they didn't die in vain. We're pushing onward to the capital dubbed 'GL City'. On Eed's request, we're sending him and his soilders in first, right after the bombs from the bombers have been dropped. On his que, we'll be moving in with a larger force from the west, giving anyone there in a surprise they won't soon forget.
4/7 - The bombs have been dropped and Eed's forces are moving in to conquest. We've already been set in motion, ready to attack from the westward into the city. This shouldn't be too hard. The GL did have some rudimentary highway system that's playing right into our paws n claws.
Now, if you'll excuse me... I'll go wait for my sweet Eed to call.
4/7: Supplimental - It's much later at night and we haven't really heard anything from Eed. The city was large, sure, but his forces should have taken out any hostiles. Even if things had been rough, we should have been called for back-up. Now, I sit in the wings.. waiting for Eed to say something or to jepordize his whole mission and come in with the brunt of the forces.
4/8 - This is worrying me now. There's been nothing from Eed. Not a peep. All we can do is just go in, take out any hostiles and start looking for him. I've already set our forces in motion and we're basically on our way now. Hell, I'm writing from inside an UX-19... effectional called the Human Squasher by some of our more crude soilders.
Heh, I wonder what Eed would have thought of that. Damn, I'm rambling off about him again. Other Gammas are getting tired of my talking about him. Which is alright. If I was sane right now, I probably would be too.
4/9 - We've been in the city for over 10 hours now and no sign of Eed, Sky Vanders or anyone. Hell, our fighting was much smaller than usual. One injured on our end, a couple of stragglers dead on the other.
After these short battles, we've ran into the Tinis army. It feels weird to be working with them. Just 30 years ago we was locked in a cold war... one thinking the other was an enemy because the other was on a different economic system than the other. Of course, we both just gave up, let wounds heal and now we're standing, looking at each other with smiles on our muzzles and loaded guns on our backs.
They said they had extrated some information regarding the whereabouts of this Vanders character. He and some of his goons was left the city about the time Eed was arriving, but not without capturing Eed, his forces and possibly others that the Socialists call "important prisoners". I don't know what would make his force give up so easily, but it must have been big. Unspeculated guessing by our insiders may suggest that Vanders has either one of the GL's chemical weapons or perhaps ties to the much larger Sicarii forces, which could have easily cornered Eed. I should have thought of something of this nature.. but.. I didn't. I feel so stupid now! I hope history doesn't go back and recall me as being an idiot. Blah. I just home Eed is okay.
4/10 - Good news from the front! We're hot on the trail of Vanders, or so we think we are. The only possible exit was for him to north between the area not controlled either by us or the Socialists. The only other option would then have been to exit eastward to join any other forces. This is going to be a fight to remember! If we find them or if our Tinis friend's find them first, there's still going to be hell to pay.

To: Commander Usil From: Lt. Kad Subject: Vanders
As per orders we have continued our pursuit of Sky Vanders and his group as the flee Genus Liberalis. So far he left the captiol and headed north and then turned east, likely trying to reach the uncontrolled areas in east Genus Liberalis. We and several Lemur units have been in pursuit but several times Vanders has out manuevered all of us, occasionally hiding out in unexpected places as we passed right by. I've quickly learned to respect him and his group.
But we have found something. After finding one of his hiding places, an underground parking lot in a random suburb of the capitol, Specialist Omar found a hastily written note apparantly left by one of those being help prisoner by Vanders. It didn't give the name of who wrote it, but it was written in Lemurian. After a quick translation, it read:
'Seven of us, two are liberali doctors, the rest are friends. Go to mountains, captors say refuge there. Please help.'
I recommend informing the Lemurs and any troops we might have in the area to get to the mountains on the boarder with Shimandu and Genus Liberalis as quickly as possible. Perhaps we can head them off at the pass?
This talk of doctors though reminds me of my time in Shimandu. We never did find that last hostage from the Llewellyn medical camp incident.

"Beta Phen'Mellek Lle! Beta Phen'Mellek Lle!"
Jerked from her sleep, Mellek looks to the Iota a little disgruntled at the fact she was awake. She rubs her eyes, "Yeah... What izzit?"
The Iota spoke. "It's Vanders. The EIGC found his outpost in the mountants. It's just west of Westdoria, a city that's roughly 78 minutes from our current possision."
Mellek stood up lowly, but was obviously more awake by this news. She asks, "How about the hostages?"
"We don't know at this point. What it seems to be is two doctors... probably of the MD varity, but there's a distint possiblity of it being the PhD kind. Our troops are also in the convoy."
She says. "Gamma Zhen'Eed Eed... Ready the troops!"
--------
4:00 am, GL's Westdoria Mtn Range.
"Beta, ma'am. The Grasshoppers have arrived." exclaims a Theta.
She turns from her bonoculars, slightly confused. "Grasshoppers? Who in the hell ordered Grasshoppers! This is a Rescue Mission, not a fucking test field."
The lizard turned to her and states, "Look, I made the order, but TZ1-4s is just what we need. Climbing up that mountain will give them a chance to escape. So, let's jump our way up."
After thinking a moment, the Beta sighs. "Alright. It was a good call, but realize that I'm leading this operation and another screw up like this and your balls will be on my dinner plate.... Got it?!"
"Y--yes Ma'am."
"Good. Now, how about the Tinians? When are they planning on showing up?"
"The call was sent out thirty minutes ago. They should be joining us at the base of this mountant within the hour."

"Oh, god dammit!" growls Sergeant Anderson as he peeks out of the top of the F0-15 tank Kad's unit usual refers to as 'Scruffy'. "The lemurs are already here."
Kad looks up from from his chair in the back of the tank and says, "Watch your mouth soldier. We'll be working with them tonight."
"Sir?" wines the feline sergeant.
"It had to happen sooner or later. But lucky you, I'm having you guys wait here and guard the base of the mountain with the boom-boom squad. I'm going to see if I can get them to take Ebek upstairs." Turning back towards the driver. "Pull up and stop. Remember, they're our best buddies tonight. Forget what daddy said about them for a few short hours. It won't kill you."
The tank pulls up to the Lemurian encampment. Kad almost shoves Anderson aside as he climbs out of the tank. The mouse peers up at the mountain for a moment and smiles. "This reminds me of something... Oh well." Kad jumps down from the tank and approches the Lemurian machines waving to the closest soldier.
"Well well, these are the grasshoppers. I'm Lieutenant Kad with Tinisian special forces. I guess I and most of my team are your backup on this one. I say most, 'cause I got three frisky stealthers that wouldn't mind grabbing a lift up, and maybe me along with them. May I speak with your commander?"

Lt. Kad rides up the mountain inside the hopper. Inside the back of the cramped compartment he sits with the three members of Arx Company Zero's stealth contingent. It isn't long before heavy gun fire is heard. The opperators of the hopper begin to shout orders back and fourth. Kad's Lemurianian skills being fairly poor only picks up on an order to fire.
The hopper's guns come to life and despite noise compensation, their roar is still almost deafening. Kad grinds his teeth in annoyance at the constant random accelerations as what sounds like bullet impacts echo off the side of the hopper.
"Don't worry, we're safe!" shouts the hopper pilot to the Tinisians. Moments later more gun fire hits the hopper. The hopper returns fire and an explosion is heard. "See?"
An explosion rocks the hopper and the Lemur vehicle almost hits the ground sideways before it regains its balance. The pilot attempts to send the hopper on another hop but all that is heard is a grinding noise. Kad picks up between the curse words that the hopper's leg is damaged.
"Okay," says Kad to his troops, "its your turn. Find those hostages quickly."
The three in night stealth gear nod in unison and begin their exit of the hopper.
