Despite an uphill battle the previous attempt at foolishness put forth by the UN floor has failed. Perhaps they are realizing that a little moderation is in order?
Speaking of moderation, the current resolution, Diplomatic Immunity, seems to be attempting to instil a little international moderation. Since the this resolution is meant as a method for nations to interact and otherwise has no affect on the internal structures of the many UN nations, and is fairly well written, the Union of Tinis shall vote For Diplomatic Immunity.

The current resolution up for vote, Representation in Taxation, is indeed an interesting one. It, at the end of the day, accomplishes two goals. The first being a message from the UN that democracy is prefered over other forms of governments, seeing as that democracy allows for citizens to have some influence over their tax rates, a position that the Union of Tinis supports completely. Of course it makes no requirements but simply urges democratic representative government. The second thing it accomplishes is defining “taxes or fees on domestic activities, items, and businesses”. Parts a and b of that section, section 3, are acceptable definitions for taxes and fees. However, part c seems incomplete. Part c reads: "taxes placed upon (or tax credits awarded) farmers which sell their crops strictly within the nation and taxes placed upon (or tax credits awarded) government workers".
Seeing as this section should be the final section of the definition, it should contain items relating to such things as sales taxes and income taxes, which it does in part. But the only sales taxes that are defined are for farmers, and the only income taxes that are defined are for government workers. Now in some nations, where all citizens are considered government workers, this is fine. However, there are many nations that have income taxs on all workers. And beyond that, it doesn't even mention income tax when talking about government workers. Are these to then define a funny hat tax on a postal carrier? Or a tax for living on a hill for dog catchers? It is very wide open and descrimintory.
The definition section is the only section of this resolution that lays down rules, in this case rule by definition, on taxes. It opens the door to nation's being called out on taxing the income of a billionairs making billions more because such a tax does not fit the official definition of tax. This is unacceptable.
Though my government has a great deal of respect for the government of Chipmunks, we must vote Against this resolution.

Currently up is a repeal of the resolution protecting dolphins. The Union of Tinis of course votes Against this repeal for the simple fact that many human nations do not recognize certain life forms as intelligent beings, and more so, that said intelligent beings, ie dolphins, may in fact be citizens of another nation. For example, Tinis recognizes the citizenship rights a small dolphin populace off our coast and wish to continue to have international protection of our citizens from greedy ill-informed fishermen from distant lands who are either to bigoted or to ignorant (often both) to respect the rights of our citizens. This issue goes beyond 'protection of endangered animals'. For they are not animals, they are our country men and women.

Tinis's stance on this is shared more so by GBWT. With the elimination of off shore drilling in our region, the oil platforms have been transformed into island cities. A large populaion of said cities are aquatic and amphibiouse citizens of Paeninsula. A law should eb introduce protecting more of the aquatic life.

Tinis will not change its position on the Fossil Fuel Reduction Act and will vote Against the repeal. The government of the Kenny nation can be a great ally in removing bad resolutions, but they are indiscriminant as to which ones they try to take down. We would like to work with them to end the Sex Industry Workers Act but alas, they are much more concerned with tearing down our best chances at ending the destruction of the enviroment.

Now up for vote is the Global Food Distribution Act resolution. The Union of Tinis has expressed its vote as For this resoultion. The reason being that the concrete rules put in place by this resolution are purely of an international variety and that it works to bring UN nations closer togeather in cooperation, a goal a number of resolutions have gone against in the past.
Because it is purely of the international variety of rule making, my government was finally allowed to make a decision on the exact merits of the rule instead of worrying about outside affects. The rule is the incrimental removal of food tarrifs except in cases of cultural restrictions. On one side, it would mean a decreased revenue for governments who rely on tarrifs as a major form of income. On the other, it would mean that either producer nations won't have to subsadize the governments of nations they are trading with or the people of tarrif happy nations will finally be able to afford some basic foods that they might not have access to. The Union of Tinis believes that the positive sides out weigh the negatives, that it is better for the people of a nation to have food to eat than their government to get more money.
I personally find it amusing that there are some similarities between this resolution and FFR 110.

The IT Education Act seems to be one of those resolutions that only suggests and encourages alot. In fact, upon careful reading it requires no change in government policy or law in any UN nation. As such my government can and has decided its position on the resolution based on weather its goal is beneficial or not, and we feel it is. We have voted For this resolution because it is our opinion that access to information technology in the ever advancing world of ours can lead to an active, well informed, and able world populace. The authors of this resolution were smart to not require the various suggestions though, as some are bit impractical for most. But since they didn't, it is not a concern to be worried about.

The Union of Tinis has voted For the repeal of UN resolution #45, UCPL because really, the UCPL was poorly constructed and quite unreasonable as well as being very vague about how to accomplish its goals.

On the resoulction Right to Divorce, the Union of Tinis votes against this resolution. Though we are deeply concenred that in many places marriage is seen as the end of all be all of a relationship, without risk of it being undone legally in other nation, thus allowing one or both partners not treat the institution with the respect it deserves, the Union feels that there is more pressing business that the UN should be concerning itself with. More important abuses to right. Wars to end. And they have yet to demand all their members define persons such as those assembled on this council who have fur and scales and not skin as sentient beings. Having a right to divorce is nice but if there are people starving because it got on the docket before a resolution to distribute food, then that's not right. I suspect this resolution will pass any way, but Tinis will stand by this protest vote.

Due to the failure of passage of the Rights of Biological Sapients, the Union of Tinis is now actively protesting and attempting to halt UN business by voting AGAINST all resolutions and repeals until a resolution to assist in guranteeing our rights internationally is brought to the floor once more. Thus Tinis votes AGAINST the repeal of right to divorce.

Although the Protectorate of Miokalia is not a memeber of the UN, our protector nation, The Armed Republic of Malychis (of the Region: Atheist Empire) Is in the process of becoming a member and will be an ally to the Federation in the UN. It will also participate in the UN protest, and eventually try to re-propose Sapient Rights legislation in the near future. If Malychis is denied entry into the UN, The protectorate of Miokalia will attempt to join in it's place.

My government would like to express its thanks for the support expressed thus far. In the coming weeks we'll seek to both craft new UN regulations that might pass popular muster but still guarantee our recognition, and to seek out the support of other UN nations in our quest to bring UN business to a halt until we are finall heard.
