Okiedokes, here's the thing, I'm going to either make a thread, or a registry, or a newspost, Idk, about Stidham and the Governor leasing some land in the southern and uninhabited portions of Aatuylva, for the allowance of the building of city-states.
This serves a two-fold purpose:
One, Stidham can leave foreigners to secure that land while he hunts down the rest of the Uldezyri terrorists,
and
Two, it will help further trade and stuff, I guess.
I can outright say no, sorry Cal, but even though your people paid reparations for the incident with the Red Serpents, there is still alot of bad blood.
By bad blood I mean of course everyone in Aatuylva thinks the Calie are insane, belligerent, barbaric, and warmongering gits and they wouldn't like them as neighbors.
NPCs of Miokalia or KZ (and perhaps some actual Kazians and Miokalians) are ok.
Areas given would only be about as large as a fairly large city and enough farmland to support it. It would be connected to Aatu raillines, which, if the trans-continental railroad goes through, would be connected to dedicated rail-lines straight to Miokalia, through up to Tinis, to Aluez and the ports there, interconnecting everyone living there to rest of the mainland continent.
The city-states would be full owned by their parent nations and would only have to follow the laws of their parent nations (likewise, for any city-state that breaks away and joins the confederacy instead, they would be considered an independent nation in their own right, but a protectorate of their home nation and of Aatuylva, kinda basically a co-ownership of sorts, allowing the citizens of the city-state to follow their home-nation's laws even while in other parts of Aatuylva, barring the extremely odd ones. For those who wish, I have a copy of the charter that I can pm to you )
Stidham in particular is looking for independent, defense-minded and polite people, since their chief neighbors would be the Chromi and the Havenites, who are notorious paranoids and prudes who would prefer polite neighbors than party animals (they get enough of that from the ruddy Ai'lupans up north from them.)
There will be two spots open for the southern part of Aatuylva, and while one would probably be irritatingly close to the quarantine zone, the wall and border would have been well-established by the time any 'newcity' threads begin.
There will also be a spot up north near Haverigg and Majinn, but the Technocracy has far stricter rules for giving up their land.
I might make a registry thing here later if I hear interest from people who have come up with plucky/insane/religiously oppressed/entrepreneurial colonists
