Captain Kalani Foster: Holmbergsvanian Expeditionary Force "Enforcer" Peering over the flight deck of the HNS Stanfori, I noticed activity. Furs and humans together in different colored uniforms moving aircraft and dropships around on the flight deck. "Captain Foster!" A marine shouted at me. "Yes?" "Aren't you going to climb on?" I realized that it was the zero hour for the Holmbergsvanian assault on Megamantics, and I was stupid enough to almost miss getting on my own aircraft!" Climbing onboard, I noted that my men were ready for combat. Picking up my M8 Compact, I took a seat in one of the folding chairs lining the cargo bay. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard!" The pilot joked. "We'll be headed to... well, Captain Foster, why don't you say it?" I got up to speak to the soldiers in the cargo bay. "Soldiers, listen up. We'll be coming to the rescue of the New Gracarian police today. Now. Chances are they won't even need our help, but regardless. We'll be landing in the outskirts of the city, from our current base here. Megamantics will be without air cover. Megamantics will be unable to muster regular army units to defend their key positions" "Roger that" "Watch your fire, there's civilians and police officers all over the place. Basically the place looks like Ciudad Juarez without the drug gangs." "Hold on folks!" The dropship lurched into the air. "Clunky VTOL jets..." The pilot groaned. I sat back and listened to the radio. "HNS Pat Condell, weapons spooled, commence naval bombardment of enemy positions" "HNS Rogeria, Condell, recommend psycological warfare as well" "HNS Pat Condell, Roger" The guns of the Holmbergsvanian fleet began angling into their correct positions, and firing HE ammunition towards their targets. HNS Stavanger, CIC Room "BEEP. BEEP. BEEP." The missile alert sensors went red. "What?" "Missile launch detected" "From Anea?" "Aatuylva, missile, unknown payload at this time, notify the ground crews ASAP!" "Get the CIWS defenses online, just in case it heads OUR way!"

Kan's people pulled right back to the Anean defences with the exception of the drones that scuttled at speed and apparently in a random pattern out into the plains. They were designed to be light and quick to avoid heave guns, but were armoured enough to take smaller hits. They had along with there heavy calibre gatling guns, that were more the capable of dealing with light takes and armoured cars, the carried a larger cannon that could fire larger anti-tank shells.
The things were basically tank busters that were designed to further restrict the tank as a major battle field weapon by being able to strike targets many time's there size. Their speed, hitting ability and expandability made them very potent weapons. Then there was the cost, when they went into mass production they would be far cheaper, though they could kill a tank easily they were less not a tank replacement.
They were specialist tank and armour killers, though they made smaller ones for anti personnel purposes. Those were still in development as the friend and foe systems had to be more complex.
Kan smiled "I wonder if those things can do what the guys from Actu inc showed us in testing in the real world.".
---
The bridge of the jackdaw was a mess of metal and the ship was a flame in many places. The Sea knight was dead and the ex-o as well, it was clear the ship was going down the weapons yeoman shouted down the ships com "Solid silver, full power single target."
Oddly one of the best silver weapons was one they rarely used and was the simplest. A pure kinetic weapon, not much can stop a big, heavy, pointed ,solid lump of diamond hard material if you threw it hard enough. The main reason the commonwealth didn't use it often was that it tended to overload and break the gun it was fired from. In fact to use it on a cruiser effectively you to basically had triple the normal charge of chemical propellent and over load the rail gun portion. As the jackdaw targeted a single point with a single point the electricity jumped over the wrecked ship's decks. It was not an enemy missile that eventually broke the jackdaws back, but rather the massive blast from it's own guns. As the yeoman shouted "Fire!"
The blast wave obscured the entire ship, as all nine fired over charged (both chemically and electrically), for more than a few second.

Captain Walton Emrick They did it. I watched the wall collapse. I guess the impact crumbled the concrete. The Sphereworld Plate on top was twisted and fell to the ground with a dull thud. I had to cheer a little bit... until artillery from the Fortress rained upon the ship. I pushed the ship to top speed. Emperor Isaiah Xaimoungkhoun "They better do something right. I don't trust robots on the battlefield." I put my Goliath helmet on and then I realized how stupid black armor is in snow. Especially with the red glowing facemask. "Well, I don't intend to stand here for the whole battle." Just to check, I held my battle rifle in my right hand and let my arm blade come out. 40" of... well whatever the hell the weapons manufacturers use to make swords. Since I don't need it yet, I retracted the blade. "So, see you after the battle. I'll have something for you then." I used my jetpack, since it isn't for sustained use, to get about 20 feet in the air and then landed in the trenches about 50 feet away and down the hill. I think I did that intentionally just to show off Anean technology.

OOC: Sorry if this bit is sparse, I don't really know much about ICBMs, all I know about this one is it's a 2-stage MIRV based on the Topol-Ms and SS-18s of Russia
It was in it's second stage now, pushed up high into the atmosphere, it's other engines kicking into life, pushing it over it's intended target. From it disgorged fifty re-entry vehicles, twenty of which were loaded with high-explosive. The other thirty-five consisted of specialized decoys designed to befuddle radar into trying to target warheads where there were none. The warheads sped downward, heading towards pre-programmed target-paths that would put them several hundred meters apart from each other as they struck the area between the city and the fortifications.
The Aatuylvans watching fervently hoped that none of the warheads, even the decoys, was inaccurate...as while they could fall within a certain distance, who can tell what will happen before they hit there? Or worse, what if there was a malfunction, and it went off course into the city, or the fortifications? ---------------------------------------------
The Aatuylvan reinforcements reached the rear of the Anean/Miokalian lines by the time the first missile began falling and detonating. Between the din of explosions and tank rounds sent over from the city, a young Chromi wolf stepped off of an Ontos that had arrived. He walked up to the first officer he could see, and spoke in surprisingly good English, for an Aatuylvan.
"Hello, I am Prime, Second-Class Juharo, reporting for duty. I do hope you aren't going to have us digging ditches, we don't have any dozers and none of my tanks have the armor to deal out damage claw-to-paw, as it were, and they need mobility to function...the Ontos's are yours to deploy as you see fit, since they are assault platforms built to that purpose...so, what can I do to help?"

The commonwealth drones scuttled a head and found depressions, if they could not find them, they dug them.
Kan smiled "Give me IX or tell him, they are his, he can direct them alone, or he can tell a group of them to berserk at a location. I like them as they can be as smooth as silk or like mad dogs to get in there and just kill anything. But they have to move, they are sitting targets when stationary.
Here is a head set, he can command them using this."
Kan smiled "Take it as a gift from what ever goddess's you believe in. It might as well be, for all I know."
The drones were using a burst transmission system off a satellite...Kan noted it was not a commonwealth one but a US one. He smiled thinking "Gotta love the guys back home"
----
Off the isle there were a number of destroyers sill firing and they moved to into fire in the hole. they were badly damaged but there remaining missiles were targeted.
The two pict fighters that were launched by the jackdaw as just before it fired so as to be a sistance ahead of the blast flew threw the gap.
"Rinie"
"Wine, may <untranslatable leefin> go with us."
The yeoman on the dieing ship saw on the blinking screen the two VOTOL fighter bombers go in, they had no chance of living. But they could carry out attacks on the artillery from behind, she knew it was a suicidal mission, the odds were when out of amo they would ram the last targets, ejecting ...they might do that but the way commonwealth people were treated up here...that was unlikely.
The periguien fleet having had no reply from Holmbergsvania kept its course to the isle and it's saxons would be in range soon, the Celt fighters were and launched to draw fire to distract the guns from below.
By now the odds were certain the the missiles launched by the Pike hunter killer should have hit the bridge.

"Aatuylvan multistage missile is passed above Karman Line.
No GR alert though."
"If it goes below the tropic of capricorn, I want CDP all over it.", said Sweizalthorpe, "If Stidham is up to something and that thing heads this way, I want CDP on that missile. Request clarification of the device from Stidham."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
MZS Hneida
With the wall breached, DPZ06 Particle Artillery units freely opened fire and began attacking planned targets on the other side of the wall.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vuela Konig called a secret meeting with the Apparateur concerning the politics of this police action.
"You know, I've seen Dopblaron's analysis of this. Every model they have is concluding that this action will not result in the gaining of any favor in the ASE.", Vuela said, "So what seems kinda strange to me is that you, the Apparateur who is subject to election by Dopblaron every year, is going against their recommendation. We have no business wasting resources on this. What do you think they're going to do? See that we care and then suddenly get all snugly and undergo a sudden cultural change and become a beacon of civil liberties? Do you think that Malych will actually be able to travel there on something like a Visa or mere Passport like other people?
You can't win this, Sweizalthorpe. Why are you trying to?"
"I don't like mercenaries who decide to attack their own country", said Sweizalthorpe, "I derive satisfaction from being on the offensive against such an entity."
"This is irrelevant and asinine!", Vuela shouted.
"Cal's there Madam Tajir President.", Sweize said, "If Cal's there, we're there. That's how it goes."
"Andertol wouldn't stand for this... You know you can't keep him furloughed forever.", she said.
"I don't like fighting with you Madam Tajir President.", he said, "Because in essence, I agree with nearly everything you say. As satisfying as it is: It's also useless.
Blinn had a vision of a world that was helpless to stop itself from moving forward. A world where hybrids like you didn't have to worry about being oppressed anywhere. A world where good business could operate reasonably without the threat of insane military junta pirates. A world where my species would finally be able to freely travel to more than just 3 other countries.
You do know that right?
The state department can't allow my kind to travel anywhere except KZ, Cal and Tinis, unless it's part of a diplomatic envoy. Now why do you think that is?"
"Don't preach to me, Sweize. I know all about the Apparat of State and their rules.", Vuela said.

General Luca Rio "I'll use them myself. He doesn't trust robots on the battlefield. And I will look into how you figured this out. Well, whoever figured this out and how. The Goliath specs are a state secret. No matter. Thank you. "And we have, mostly, gods. And one of them is fighting among us now." I snickered at that since he'll never get what I am talking about without some research into the Anean Pantheon. Emperor Isaiah Xaimoungkhoun The explosions were... impressive to say the least. I think the Aatuylvans just secured our victory. At least in liberating the city. The Aneans in the trenches cheered as the Megamantics tanks caught in the blast were destroyed. We might have broken their resolve now. "This is Emperor Xaimoungkhoun to all allied forces. Prepare to advance to New Astrapolis once the explosions cease. You can thank the Aatuylvans for that one." I activated my jetpack and jumped back to, about, where I was before, next to Kan. I said to him, "Well that was uneventful." I flipped the visor of the helmet up. "I was expecting a resistance. Right, get your people ready to move. As you've no doubt noticed, we have a bit of a supply issue. So feel free to have them ride on the tanks. Might have trucks coming up soon, but I wouldn't count on it. "Heh, I am speaking to you like you're one of my officers. That's not a bad thing though. Saves you from my bouts of rage for the most part." I motioned Soldavini, who was giving orders to colonels that gathered outside the command center, over to me. We don't have much in the way of radios because we were caught off guard by the rioting and couldn't get armed properly. This is a logistical nightmare. Not as bad as the Third Federation War though luckily. "Soldavini, what's your assessment?" He said, "The New Astrapolis Police Department is engaging Megamantics forces in the city. They are assisted by the Federal Police. They probably won't hold, so we need to move quick." "We're not moving fast. They will probably last long enough for us to get down there and liberate the city. What's the status on the island attack?" "According to Captain Emrick, the Cali managed to bring down the wall and them and the Miokalians are assisting in hitting the island itself." "Good. And us?" "The Harbinger took critical damage and has been beached to prevent it sinking... again. Firing from within the fortress has pretty much stopped as Megamantics is going underground. I just recently got satellite feed from the Battlestation that showed the bridge connecting them to the mainland collapsing. We've got them trapped." "Excellent. Looks like this might not have fallen apart yet. Since you're probably going to be the one in the back, I want you to send this along to the Senate. I want the Iron Cross awarded to every ground soldier here. I want the Distinction Medal awarded to every soldier out on the ships and the pilots." "Isn't it a little early to think of medals?" "Not at all. We've got them. Whatever they have in the city should collapse under our pressure. If not outright surrender." "Yes sir." Luca just kind of stood there, clearly absorbing everything. Finally, she said, "And I am to do what?" "Get the soldiers to follow you. You're just as inspirational as I am. They'll listen to you." "Alright." She nodded and headed over to the column of tanks. "Now, Soldavini, I need you to keep me updated on the colony's situation. Rioting, if any, and security effectiveness. Also, if you would, see what we can do about getting a surrender from them." "Yes sir." I turned to Kan, "If you want to carry out your plan going behind their lines, I really could use eyes in the city to get an idea of their forces. Also try to help out the police in the city. They're probably at the city hall. Minimal civilian casualties. I trust you with that, but I will repeat it until this is over." Grand Inquisitor Nicholas Delang "Hm? Oh. No. The trenches seem to have been a waste of time. The Emperor is already ordering us forward. The tanks should be moving forward first, so if you have any, get them in line. There's little to no more Megamantics forces on the mainland anymore according to intelligence."

Kan smiled "But there will be no calie forces, we are not mainlanders, we have no mainland fighting here or in any of the commonwealth forces up here. Don't call us calie, that's what mainlanders are called, this is a Saeie and leefin operation."
Then he ran off to his troupes "Go, go lets get round the side of this mess and get mobile."
The marines were more than happy to do so, static warfare was not what they did if they could help it. They quickly and professionally moved up the flank, the SBS people cut threw the waste land left by the missiles. The lupines in winter camouflage were slipping towards the city, they moved quickly. Their training was showing, they preferred to avoid anything that would make them visible, even the marines were trained in infiltrating.
You could not do that with armour the marines intended to go in on foot and slip into the city. The SBS people even more so, the police had people that knew urban warfare. Most had put there bayonet's in there mouths for use if they tripped over a surviving member of the enemy. They intended to ensure that no one in the city would know of their approach.
---
Rio started to get incoming transmissions, some of the drones were still alive. Only the mobile ones checked in, they could loose four of there eight leg and still move, the system was rather good. Actu inc had done their job rather well, let alone the things had survived but Rio was not geting useless information about dead drones.

Emperor Isaiah Xaimoungkhoun As he left, I said, "Right. You're all still Cali to me." I went down the hill to the highway where several tanks were gathering. A couple other Goliaths were standing around doing nothing. I ignored them and climbed up on a GK-I and got in the turret with the HPC. General Luca Rio I should have gotten more than just a uniform and body armor. I do like this eye and headset thing. I wonder how this will work with the robots... I said, "Uh... stay with the tanks?" I feel like an idiot talking to robots.

Kan and his marines were making good time down the flank they were not risking anything. They only left the few survivors that had no chance of calling in others or reviling their positions alive.
Unlike most saeie the thacken marines also carried some teerie weapons, this came in handy when one of the survives from the blast was lining up a shot. A quick slice from a traditional teerie blade from behind it removed the risk. The group closed on the city in radio silence, the SBS were a head of them, they were less than merciful. The only thing that gave them away was the lack of any form of survivor in their wake.
The marines were efficient, the SBS people merciless. Nothing was going to be known about their movements.
--
The drones did exactly as Rio said and formed up behind the tanks, in a formation that put the most damaged at the front.

General Luca Rio I then realized I could have fun with this. I saw IX get out of one of the tanks and walk toward me. He's going to hate me for this, but it could be funny. I said to the drones, "Attack the Emperor." Hopefully they are smart enough to recognize him. Especially considering the seven stars on the shoulder plate facing them.

The drone's being drones were not but were bright enough that only once fired to act as an assassin. It started to fire and jump about towards the target the rest took cover. Well until they had figured out the capabilities of the defence. That drone was there to probe the defences if it could not take him out it self.

Emperor Isaiah Xaimoungkhoun When the thing fired at me, I realized just why I hate robots. Thankfully I'm in armor and not something less than the Goliath. What it was shooting at me simple bounced off the armor. Fucking Cali robots. Cowards can't even try to kill me in person. Fucker is jumping around too. Damn it. Through my radio, I said, "Take it out! Now!" Three more Goliaths fired at it from behind. One had a minigun and the other two an HPC.

Kan got a burst transmission the US sat passing over passed him the information that a drone had been given a target, they were far to far for that.
He tapped his ear "We have a rouge or miss ordered drone. Other drones kill"
Kan sent an open broad cast way from his people "Rough drone or mis-directed. Not under our control. Passed To ASE military command. All drone not under our command. Only safety measures, repeat can not order attack only safety measures."
The other drones opened up on the one attacking. The commonwealth were not idiots they knew they were in a powder keg. They kept the back up and safety systems of the drones, one killing another was safer than them self destructing. It also would reassure people that someone sane was in charge and could take control of the drones back, if only to have them emotionalise them selves. .

Emperor Isaiah Xaimoungkhoun Once the drone that attacked me was destroyed, I said to the soldiers, "This is why I don't trust robots on the battlefield. Destroy these things! NOW!" Despite the robots fighting to help me, they are still a threat. The three Goliaths fired on those that were left. Though I have that odd feeling this wasn't a Cali plan. Can't take a risk though.
