Raypez, getting a little overwhelmed by everyone present turned to Ig to say in their shared language, "Now this is quite the menagerie. They they might all by tied out home in the sky?"
Ig shrugged, and replied in English. "I dare say it is possible. Ah, Oi, what is the address for our place again? Maybe all these folks have places near by? That would be an amazing coincidence."
Ig let her question linger, but her attention seemed most towards Cassie. She had never met a malych before. And was very curious to learn about what brings joy to a creature so different from herself.
Raypez on the other hand was perplexing still over the new comers in general.

OOC : Since I absolutely don't know anything about those things : Teeries, Miliatins, Chimerisms, Inteers... My characters will obviously don't know neither, just to say...
-------------------------
Teeries, Miliatins, Chimerisms, Inteers... So many strange names, races or whatever. Sarya was really confused by all those gene-race-things, since biology was surely the last thing that would have interested her.
The only thing she knew was that it was something rather common among the people of the Hive and maybe something in an History book, but it was Lyra the best in ancient History.
Before she could share her thoughts with Lyra, Sarya suddenly had a bad feeling about the lizard, ''his'' voice was somewhat masculine, which irritated her...
Sarya-voice : ''I don't know anything about your gene-thing, lizard-guy, but I'm pretty sure me and my people didn't popped from the ground.''
Even if she had a low-voice, it was quite clear that talking to him (DUSSEL) was making her a bit angry... but luckily the thoughts of Lyra were enough for her to not do something bad, for now at least...

Dussel backed away (not that he was particularly close to begin with, raptors are culturally very conscious of personal space with strangers). And bobbed a little bit unintentionally, a cultural indicator of yielding as a result of the sharpness in Sarya's voice. He couldn't figure out what she meant by 'popped from the ground', and began trying to figure out if he had accidentally said something to that effect accidentally since English was his second language. He attempted to apologize for having been possibly offensive by looking downward, bobbing and saying, in quick, accented English, "I apologize I did not intend to insult your people, I must have said something incorrectly. Please disregard my statement."
(Dussel is just trying to be super polite because he thinks he just hurt a stranger's feelings accidentally by saying something offensive without realizing it.)
Cassie noticed the curious glances at her and then eventually Ig's curious staring at her and this kind of made her a bit nervous. She had no idea how to respond, so she deferred to her emulative systems to come up with a polite ice-breaker, one which would be less strange than Dussel's weird biological statement about hybrids.
Cassie's speech was accompanied sometimes by only opening the mouth slightly, but not moving it to syllables as she spoke (No lights either, just sound) This was a very calculated mannerism, based on the Uncanny Valley principle (the same reason why they have some purposefully mechanical looking features alongside more organic-like shapes) She opened her mouth slightly and said in a somewhat flat, surprisingly organic and normal-sounding, very slightly female voice, "My name is Cassie, I'm going to be attending school here, what is your name?"

Ig bowed slightly. She had realized she might be acting in a rude fashion with her curiosity and wanted to make sure she came off as friendly still. "I am Ig Xovip. I am here to study Calligraphy. I came from Pargalo originally. I apologize for staring, but I have yet to see a person of your type before. And I seem to be being surprised today by peoples whom I've not encountered before today. I hope I have not offended with my enjoyment of wonder."
The mentioning of being from Pargalo easily makes it clear to all present that Ig might seem to be from another planet at times yet normal relatively other times. Only a couple years ago was the tiny nation of Pargalo liberated from psychotic oppressors whom had ruled there for around sixty years. Even to those most detached from the goings on of far parts of the world could realize that she grew up possibly knowing nothing of freedom, liberty, or even the fact that the outside world existed.
But yet she was smiling and quite pleasant.

Cassie became considerably less nervous, "The discipline you have described is indicative that you possess an admirable degree of diligence and artistic skill." Cassie then realized she was still talking through emulation systems, and thus sounded like a computer. She switched back to normal and continued, "I'm sorry, that may have come out a bit strange. "
She paused for a moment, partly due to shyness and then continued, "Do not worry, I'm not offended by your curiosity. I'm glad you broke the silence and we started talking!"

Ig giggles, "If I recall you're the one whom asked the question there. And do not worry, there are many strange things in the world, and each is a treasure."
Ig's usual means of sizing up people were obviously not working here. But the courtesy Cassie seemed to be showing did suggest someone who was self conscious to a degree, possibly even shy. Or maybe it was just bad form to use the other voice when around more organic people. Or maybe the reverse? She hoped she'd find out.
"But yes, my interest is Calligraphy. I'm relatively a beginner, but I hope to learn much here, especially of techniques not found back home. I don't know if where I'll end up after school of course. But if I end up back in Pargalo, or even Tinis, life might be hard, but at least I'll be doing what I love. And if I am very good I might even get to pen messages that are appreciated for years to come. And what shall be your studies Cassie? Will I be seeing you in my classes?"
[OOC: Everyone else can be conversing at the same time as these two. This might be a side conversation. There's still the question of the address and needing to get everyone to realize they're roomies.]

Cassie continued, "I don't know, we might, although my focus here will be in simulation modeling related to small-scale nuclear power engineering. I must admit that communication is something which does not come at all naturally for me.
The thing you said: 'There are many strange things in the world, and each is a treasure'. Sounds like something from Glorvanism. Are you a student of such?
I believe we have much to discuss and relate then! I find many commendable aspects to Glorvanism."

Ig nodded. "Indeed I am. And you do use the proper phrase I think in that. For Glorvanists are always students, school or not. I belong to a tradition that I think translates into English as Those That Smile. Wouldn't be surprised if you had never heard of it. To give a feeling of it, the joke is that we're more sunny than an optimist. But at least we can sing." It did seem a little like something was being lost in translation of the joke, but the point was fairly clear. "Other than happiness, on technical issues I guess we reject the Tail of Stars as canon, as if the world was as dark as it suggests, then we shouldn't exist. Similarly, we reject the notion of Itchal as an adversary as most Glorvanists do, but do believe that a figure like the mythical one did exist in some fashion. Probably just a pessimist of great renown. We also emphasize putting good ideas into not only action, but art. Which would explain my interest in calligraphy if that wasn't obvious. Also no solid belief in deities is required. I don't subscribe to them myself. Don't need people in the clouds or wells telling me I need to clean my ears."

Sarya decided to look on the sides, making a face that was a mix of ''feeling sorry and irritation'', unsure of what to do or to say to this lizard-guy... When Lyra, as happy as ever, decided to get in the conversation... and not just a little !
Lyra-voice : ''You have to excuse my friend here, she had a bad day... and I guess we don't talk alot to outsiders very often too... and, oh I almost forgot, how rude of me, I'm Lyra and she's Sarya... We are from Suikodan, maybe you heard of it ? You have nice feathers, you know that ?''
The curious and energetic nature of Lyra was something quite like a ray of light in dark situations like this one. Always happy to ask an almost never-ending sea of questions, to save the day.

Ah was a total geek and not very good at social interactions, she tended to to think every one knew what she did. Oi was a totally different creature, creative and over active. But both had their fried breakfast delivered at the same time and dug in at speed, the smell was very tempting.
Ah said between gulps "I'm Ah I'm a geek, doing systems. Oi over there is a sculptress, ignore her chain saws. Her kind like mine are harmless."
Oi piped up after eating five rashers of bacon in a oner "Yeah we're staying in talies land where you guys at?"
The green furs were obviously very hungry and neither of them were making any bone about it. There was something very honest about them currently.

Dussel looked at Cassie intermittently and said somewhat distractedly, "Yes. Feathers.", then he said, "Yes. Sorry, all I know is where it is on the map. Can't say I know anything about your home though."
Cassie was still by Ig. She said, "I indeed respect your optimism. I only wish many of my own took such an approach. Part of the reason why I decided to travel is because I got tired of the attitude back in Dobplaren, which was basically dour. They're very existential."
She then noticed that there was food out, she made no motion towards it but said, "Oh, don't let me keep you from eating. I have no problems with conversing while others eat. So what's the place like that you came from?"

"Oh, we got dour existentialists back home, and worse. As for my home, its cold most the year. Not many trees. Old buildings, old people. Its a small village near the middle of the country. Rustic. Not very pleasant all the same. I much preferred my stay in Tinis after the liberation war. That is a much warmer, friendlier, and amazing place," Ig took a seat and began to poke at her food. "And other than having melancholy people, what's Dobplaren like?"
Raypez was already well through his food. And was trying to keep up with myriad of conversations while whipping some goo from his face.

Cassie said, "Well it doesn't look like much. There's small settlement things that are all connected by roads and conduits. There are packs that live in the settlements, but many packs live outside the settlements in smaller, nomadic homesteads. They're kind of odd looking. A lot of things are made out of discarded or re-purposed materials and such. I suppose the main feature is that the settlements, and the homesteads, are sort-of alive. They are small parts of a large organism. In a literal sense."

Ig was kind of confused. "I don't think I understand. There's packs, which I'm familiar with. There's some folk in Pargalo and Tinis who live like such. But a larger organism?"
[OOC: For those wondering, I know what this is about but Ig obviously doesn't being that she's kind of a newbie at this whole being outside of pargalo thing still]

OOC : By the way... so far, I think, nobody know the name of anybody (In the RP) ? (Except maybe IG and Cassie ?)
Sarya-Mind : *That lizard-guy doesn't seem very talkative, which is fine with me, but where's that Sheep-girl ? She said some of her friends would know the location of our rooms...*
Lyra-Mind : *She's over there, near the tables and the one with the shiny skin remember ?*
Sarya looked in the direction that Lyra was ''pointing'' and she could see who Lyra was ''talking'' about... It was hard for her to determine, if this outsider was a male or a female, but the shiny skin was starting to make her wonder about the nature of this outsider.
Without a word for the lizard-guy (Dussel), they went to see IG and the mysterious Shiny-Skin.
